Soon it's going to be Frenchie Month. I'll be arriving in Bangkok in a few days and staying for a month! If I can break away from the action long enough, I'll try to post something.
Anyone else there or going soon? Maybe we can hook up.

Frenchie,
Looks like I'll miss you as I don't arrive until May 29th. Since you have a whole month you should definately go to Pattaya. If you have the bucks, think about a side trip to Cambodia as well. A dance contest (go-go) will be held at the Pink Panther (Patpong 2) on Sunday the 29th of April. You should check it out. Get there before eight pm if you want to be sure to get in, as the prior contests have been SRO.

Guys, I made it here. My first night was at Eden Club and it was outstanding! I'll post some info later and I'll check for your questions.

Hey Frenchie,
Glad to hear your 'shopping' expedition was a success. :-D
Be sure to make the dance competition at the Pink Panther this Sunday at 8:30pm. It's located in Patpong 2. I expect a full report, if you're able to remember anything.

Hey F1,
What's this Pink Panther place like? They have one on Phuket too. Not sure if same owners. The one girl I meet in Phuket worked at PP in Phuket although we met elsewhere. She took me one night. Kinda hard to see anything when her face was up against mine and her tongue was in my mouth the entire time. Oh well, guess I'll have to go back and check it out.

Harry,
Didn't want to reply to your question until I had a chance to ask the people at the Panther in Patpong if they had any relationship with the bar in Phuket. Answer: Emphatic NO. They are actually not too happy about the other bar trading on their reputation, but this is Thailand (Land of counterfit goods). The Rock Hard in Phuket and the one here in BKK at Clinton Plaza are owned by the same people. Saw the show at CP Thursday night and one of the girls in the lesbian show has a very nice tongue-stud if that interests you (it did me).
PS: The girls at the PP want you to visit them.

Frozin1, sorry I didn't get to that dancer contest you mentioned. In fact, I never did make it down to Patpong. From what I have heard about it, it just wasn't important for me to go there. Too high pressure, too expensive, and too many rip-offs. If I had less choices I would have gone to see for myself, but Bangkok does not want for choices.
I spent loads of time doing "research" at the Nana complex, Soi Cowboy, and even a couple trips to Clinton Plaza. This last place just cannot compete with Nana, and their are way to many Katoeys there.
Cowboy has only a few good bars, but man are they good. Long Gun packs them in wall to wall every night. Rawhide has some real gems and a friendly staff. Finally, Tilac is a decent place with a few sweeties, but you have to get there early or you'll miss them.
I did 10 days of "work" in Bangkok, but the majority of my studies took place in Pattaya (15 days). To the uninitiated this place seems too chaotic and there are loads of women who are only 3-5 on a scale on 1-10. But, if you know where to look you'll find the sweet spots where hundreds of 8-10s hang out. In my mind, Pattaya cannot be beat.
I got some really interesting leads on Cambodia, but I didn't get the info until my last days in Thailand. This place used to be too dangerous, but now it's opened up and I met a couple of guys who go there on a monthly basis. I will check it out on my next trip. I think Delphi has two different discussion groups just on mongering in Cambodia. More about this later, if anyone is interested.

Hi Frenchie,
How interesting to note our differences in tastes. My preference for venues is.....
1) Soi Cowboy:
BTW Long Gun and Rawhide have the same managment and owners. If your fav is missing for one it may pay to check out the other. Baccara, Midnight and a host of the smaller bars also have some very fine women on any given night. This is by far my favorite spot, and I am a marked man here as I have girls in just about all 36 bars ;-)
2) Clinton Plaza:
Nice, new and if you stay out of the 'Crack House' and one other Katoey bar you'll be fine. The Dollhouse, Hollywood East and Rock Hard are great places to spend an evening. All these bars are very low pressure for drinks etc. This venue is definately on the upswing.
3) Nana Plaza:
My least favorite of the Sukhumvit areas and is becoming more like Patpong with each successive visit. I spend little time here anymore, but it still has some good bars and fine ladies. Nana has become way more hardcore than say 10 yrs ago. Pressure for drinks and BF's is a turnoff for me even though I'm a generous guy. One of the bar groups here has recently raised prices to 110 baht for a beer.
4) Patpong:
I really only frequent two bars here. The Pink Panther and Riffi's. Lots of pressure in many of the bars (esp. the Kings Group) but some other places such as Goldfingers have quite a following. A good place to find the 'stunners' but many will only go ST and at a premium price. The night market here drives me nuts.
Soi Zero (Buckskin Joes)
A motley assortment of beer bars and once described to me "as beer bars without the beach". Lots of new girls here (who eventually move on to the other areas) and prices are low compared to the competition. If you're looking for 'gems in the rough' this might be your place.

Frozin1,
Our tastes are actually pretty similar. I also found Nana to be too high pressure. The prices went up after I left Bangkok to tour the country. When I returned from Pattaya it was a bit of a shock since the prices down there are dramatically lower.
I definitely need to scout out more places in Clinton and Soi Cowboy, as well. I saw some pretty good bars in both places that have potential, but they didn't seem to have any fine ladies. I need to give them another chance since I was there in the off season.
I'm curious to know what you thought of Pattaya.

Hi Frenchie,
Let me finish up with a little more on BKK before we move on to Pattaya.
Asoke Beer Bars:
This is an interesting assortment of beer bars that has sprung up behind Soi Cowboy in a future construction site. There's one bar here Lólita's that specializes in BJ's. I cruised through this area on several occasions (to avoid entering Cowboy on the Tilac end) and noted at least a few very good lookers on each trip. I guess if I were in a beer bar mood in BKK this is where I would head. You just need to exercise some care and look the entire place over first to find what you want.
Thermae:
Located on Sukhumvit under the Ruamchitt Plaza & Hotel near Soi 15. Renowned as an afterhours place it is filled with freelancers some good looking, many not. I would guess if you're looking for bargain basement sex this would be it (after all it is in a basement). I would hate to see what you would get if you want the absolute lowest price. As of my last trip, the 2am closing time was being strictly enforced.
Street Girls Sukhumvit:
You'll find them scattered all along Sukhumvit from Soi Asoke to Soi 3 later at night. You really take your chances here and have no recourse if you get ripped-off. Also a fair amount of katoeys ply this strip so don't be too drunk when you make your selection (unless that's what you're looking for). I wouldn't recommend street girls unless you have your heart set on sex at the lowest possible price.
Pattaya:
This is a 24hr carnival of carnal delights. The place is sprawling and their are BJ bars, go-gos, beer-bars and massage parlors seemingly everywhere. It has a beach (much improved in quality over the past few years) and some good golf courses for those so inclined. A great place for sun 'n fun. Oddly enough, I find it cheaper to drink in the go-gos of BKK and Pattaya than the beer-bars here. I can spend a week to ten days here max before I'm ready to move on.
