Probably ate at the Sunset Gardens Hotel 6 times during my week trip and only because it was convenient to eat with my barfine at night. I felt that the Sunset Garden Hotel food was excellent for the most part. Like most Hotels and restaurants in AC, they have changed their policy regarding Filipino food. Filipino food is a lot cheaper for them to make and it used to be that the cheapest items on any menu was Filipino food. Now the owners have decided to make the Filipino items some times the most expensive items on the menu with the understanding that guys barfines would choose those items. Just blows me away to see Shrimp Sinigang and Kare Kare the price of a steak some of the times and Sunset Garden takes this to an extreme at times although they are not alone.

I also ate at a few other venues and here are my reviews:

1. Crazy Burrito: Interesting to see a small to go restaurant spot where there isn't an oven or grill in sight. They have somehow managed to crank out a ton of Mexican food using crock pots and microwaves. Similar to Taco Bell but with less flavor. They basically ripped off the idea of the TB Crunch Wrap. Was close to the hotel and barely edible. The burrito was ok

2. Puzzles Cafe: Ate breakfast here at least 3 times. Great brewed coffee, well done breakfasts and cheap prices for the most part. Had the grand slam which I think was 175 pesos and it was way too much food. I also had their smaller breakfast for I believe 70 pesos and it was a huge bargain at that price for a ton of food. I didn't take photos of menu's for those that want to know exact prices.

3. VFW Hall: It is on Perimeter close to Phoenix Hotel and they have a special every day. At their for Thanksgiving and thought the food was really well done. Very downscale and the place was loaded with mostly elderly African American vets and their 50 year old Filipina wives.

4. Thai Baht: Had just opened when I arrived and I really enjoy the food here. I am a Thai food snob but thought it was good considering how tough it is to actually get decent ingredients in the PI to make good Thai food. Had Satay mixed and the peanut dipping sauce was great. Also had them make larb moo which is a ground spicy pork eaten by Laotians and in the Issan region of Thailand. Pretty damn good for the PI. Small place, waitress' seemed confused as they were just getting back in the groove and the cook is an actual Thai woman.

5. Kokomo's: Still has prices higher than most American restaurants but I had some Indian curry and it was quite good and enjoyed eating with the views of all the bargirls arriving at work in the early evening and the doorgirls across the street.

6.Phoenix Hotel/Steve's Curry?: I might have the guys name wrong but he seems to have flyer's all over the CR's in AC. The menu at Phoenix is pretty extensive and extremely high prices for most American type food, especially steaks. They have an extensive Indian menu now and I had the Vindaloo which was spicy and superb. The Nan bread was good as well. Can't remember the price but it was reasonable for Indian food.
