Gentlemen,
This is from a report that I posted on TSM a few years back, but in talking to my colleagues, much is still the same. I have not been to Santiago for about 4 years now, but might be going back soon.
My work took me to Santiago many times in 1998 and we always had a good time. The pros are very nice, and IMHO a better bargain than a local non-pro. More on that later.
I will reference my directions and local info from the hotel where we stayed, as that is what I know best. Even if you don't stay there, just drop by as a point of reference and you can have some fun.
We stayed at the Crowne Plaza hotel. It is about a 30-minute drive from the airport without any traffic delays, and very TSM friendly. Just register the guest, no questions asked.
Address: HOLIDAY INN CROWNE PLAZA
AVENIDA LIBERTADOR B. O HIGGINS 136
SANTIAGO
011/562/638-1042
The hotel lobby is always quite busy in the evening hours, and if you a see a girl or two by themselves, chances are they are working. Coming in late one evening, there were two together. $100 took care of both of them for a few hours. Very friendly as well.
Directly across the street from the hotel is an Internet Cafe and theatre. Just to the left of the Internet cafe, as you are facing it, you will see a small entrance to what looks like a long passageway. At the end of the passage,
you will find two doors. Knock on either one. They will lead you to a sitting room, and the girls who are working, will parade around in front of you. There is no obligation if you don't like what you see. The going rate last year was about $60-70. I had one of the girls come over to the hotel for a night, and the madam who ran the place and her
daughter came with her for a drink in the lobby just to check me out. From then on, I always had a good deal going with them.
If you don't like that place, as you are facing the Internet Cafe, look to your right to the corner. You will see a cafe on the corner, and a blue building just to the left of it. If the door is open, go in and ring the buzzer. You
will walk up the stairs and it is the same routine as the other place.
As you walk out of the door, there are two clubs close by. One is just around the corner to the right, and the other is just around the corner to the left about 1/2 block down on the same side of the street. The clubs both have rooms
you can go to with the girl, or take her out that night, or make other arrangements. Just be careful of the prices and amounts of the drinks that you order. It's easy to run up a big bar tab. Maybe just stick with one or two beers.
There are numerous girls on the streets during the later night hours, so you might get lucky there. Ask a taxi driver to take you around looking for senioritas. They know where the girls are. They are very eager to join you in
the taxi.
There are numerous other clubs in a nice atmosphere that might provide a better quality girl, but the prices are higher as well. The hotels know where they are. Again, watch your bar tab. The places that I described always seemed to have someone for every taste.
There is another area of Santiago that is very popular and is saturated with good looking women. They are mostly non-pros, but a few pros always seem to find their way in. It is called Providencia, or something like that. It has
to do with the street name more than anything else. I am not sure of the spelling, but that it is close. A popular bar there is called "Mr. Eds." If you find the bar, you are in the right area. You will find a lot of good clubs,
discos, and restaurants in this area. It is just a short taxi ride from the hotel that I mentioned, and all the hotels and taxis know where it is. Very popular. Plan on dinner around 9-10 p.m., then hit the clubs later.
During the weekday around noon, place yourself downtown in the business district. There you will see many beautiful women walking around going from one place to another. In this same area you will find a lot of small standup coffee
bars being served by scantly clad ladies. Nice atmosphere.
If you are going to spend any amount of time in Santiago, go to Vina del Mar on the weekend. It is a coastal resort city about 2 hours out of Santiago. I never had a chance to go there, but many people have told me that it is a lot of fun on the weekends. A lot of the city people leave town and go there for the weekend.
Now for the local girls. Another co-worker and I started hanging around some local girls. They were always friendly, always traveled together in a pack of 3 or 4. Ask one out, and usually 2-4 friends come along. Over a period of 3-4
months, we spent hundreds of dollars on dinners and entertainment, and the only way either one of us got laid was to go to the whorehouses or clubs and find a pro. Much more value for the money, and a lot better time as well.
I was getting pretty fed up with all of this when I met another local girl through the Internet. During our first meeting, she mentioned that she was not a typical Chilean woman. I asked what she meant, and she said that the typical woman in Chile always comes in packs of two or three friends, takes what they can, and leaves. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. But it all seemed to pan out. Many times you can be friends with a pro, and they and dress up very nicely as well. There is never any doubt as to how the night will turn out.
Like the MasterCard Commercial, "the ability to send her on her way and never again have to listen to her whining, priceless."
Ok, enough of my ramblings. You will have a good time in Santiago. Find somebody nice, and enjoy the life.
