Shark has been my "home" on Cowboy for many years as well. Shark is owned by the same guy who owns Mandarin in Nana - which happens to be one of my Nana homes. Guess I'm in synch with the recruiting for that company.

Midnite does have ST rooms upstairs. They're pretty bad - just like the old days in Cambodia. They don't have showers in them, and the communal shower just has cold water. Avoid at all costs I say.

I gave up on Baccara years ago due to their lady drink policies. Upon Zuperfly's suggestion, I gave it a glance on my last outing for the first time in years. The downstairs stage was so packed, the girls couldn't move. It was bizarre. And upstairs, the spinners wouldn't give me the time of day. It remains on the "give up" list.

Um, could someone get a little more descriptive about just what a "long-trunked" girl is???

that is an LAguy term. i would call it 'tall and slender' versus girls that are 'short and not fat'.

murasaki, have you been to tilac often ? that is another place that i don't like all that much. but others love it (it seems to be full with customers). another bar where you sit down and can't really see more than 25% of the girls. so it is better to just buy a drink, pay the bill, and walk around with a drink in your hand.

My idiosyncratic usage (perhaps I just made up this meaning for the word "trunk", I'm not sure) is to call the area from the upper hips to the shoulders the "trunk." So, we are talking about girls with long and very slim upper bodies.

Re: Soi Cowboy and 'The Arab bars'

This guy is a scourge--he converts formerly good go-go's into clip joints, introducing coyote girls who don't barfine, 200-plus baht ladies drinks, obnoxious neon, etc.
It's possible he manages to stay afloat simply by getting lots of first-time uneducated tourist clientele, or guys who are too drunk to notice what's going on around them and get pulled in by one of the quite fetching coyote girls.
What's more likely is that these bars are in large part a money-laundering operation--and considering the disproportionate number of Iranians that get busted for moving ya-baa (ice) in Thailand and seAsia, my vote is for money laundering. 'Cause these bars do not get many repeat customers, and he now owns about a third of going go-go concerns on Cowboy.
Avoid the Arab bars at all costs: Rawhide, Kiss, Sahara, Deja Vu, Midnite...and maybe a couple others I forget. They're easy to spot, they all look the same and have very attractive coyote girls out front--but they're a bait-and-switch.

I learned about the "coyote girls" in March of last year at one of those Soi Cowboy places. Best way to tell if they have coyote girls working in them is if the girls are wearing nylons. Nylons = drink sluts.

Aside from the fact that the the ban facility is not yet in place, so the Laguy threat is as empty as a mama-san's lady drink two minutes after it is served, I would not deign to hijack a thread (TR?) at the mere mention of his opinion on silicone (or lack thereof). His lack of taste is beyond redemption. I bet he doesn't even appreciate body art.

I had my fill of silicone-enhanced busts in my last trip report (although the satisfaction faded all too quickly). If Laguy prefers to avoid silicone-augmented beauties, so much the better: we won't be competing for girls at Tulip or Snow White.

I hate to encourage Hunterman but it seems the Mango girls are getting shot up with silicone (or whatever they do with the stuff) at a faster rate than Snow White or Tulip. So, unless their next crop of girls is more silicone-resistant (which would be a good thing) than the last group I saw, Hunterman would be best off checking out Mango over Tulip or Snow White.

I hate giving out advice that is so diammetrically opposed to my core principles, but I guess I'm just too nice a guy.

Buick, I have never cared much for Tilac. I always poke my head in whenever I'm in town, but I never even sit for a drink. One walk-through always tells me "nothing to see here folks."

I have taken a total of 2 girls from there, the last one in 2005. It's funny how some bars consistently have girls I like, and others consistently don't. Tilac falls in the latter category.

you'll like my comment on glamour bar in patpong. that is the king of money laundering. there are no people in there, yet i'm sure they show they sell a couple hundred drinks per night on the books.

midnite seemed to be a little different than the other bars in the group but i have to admit it has caught up and isn't what it used to be.

if i was coming to thailand for a week or so, i wouldn't bother with 'the arab bars'.

Thanks, Laguy, I appreciate the tip. Of course, I know you just want to keep me away from Tulip and Snow White, as our tastes are quite similar aside from my predilection for silicone, and enhanced breasts are not dispositive in driving my choices. Nevertheless, I do respect you as a nice guy.

i forgot to mention dollhouse. back in 08/09 i went there fairly often. bar fined some waitresses and some dancers. then in 2010 they changed the format somewhat and started doing nude dancing upstairs. that generated some crowd early on (happy hour prices) but it is a real smoking den up there. and the girls downstairs do not look real good.

so cowboy doesn't have quite the variety that it used to. i know alot of guys always preferred nana to cowboy but the topic could be debated. nana seems to be the easy winner these days.
