Finally I get the time to post back up trip reports and i just hope it pleases all menbers. Apologies if some info is outdated but i don't post my trip reports right away and it takes me a while to collect my thoughts and all the info i gather for that purpose.
It always keeps nagging me how Phuket looks like after the Tsunami disaster it had few years ago and taking the advantage of been in that part of the country I decided to spent some holiday time noising around.
I wanted to give Phuket town a better look and decided to stay at this place;
Phuket Center Apartments

This is a well maintained hotel and it has all you need for a good stay. I got a rate of THB 650 or 700 per night; of course, no problems bringing a girl for the night, did my hotel reservation on the internet. room is spacious and you used a card key instead of a standard regular key. this place is closed to the bus terminal for service to Hat Yai and not to far for the buses to Bangkok. Other alternative was Rome Place, but, it was a little difficult to reach them.
Phuket town shows a lot of chinese influence and I kind of enjoyed my stay there. realize would be an inconvenient for others since you have to take a moto taxi or tuik tuk to go to and from Patong beach, oh well, was choice. You do have some places to go in town, such as the phuket International hospital for youe medical needs. this hospital is first class and took the opportunity to get me a full physical here (executive check up), top service and only for THB 10,000. I like to look around and you have Robinson mall, Ocean shopping mall; which theses two are next to each other. the other one, Central festival is on bypass road going to Patong. the movie theatres are first class (SFX at Central and coliseum paradise next to Ocean mall).
I did try a couple of massage parlors and one was a super service and the other nothing to brag about. Grand Plaza massage is a ghost of its former glory and on its way down, close or behind Ocean mall. a soapy service here costed me THB 1,200 and the gal was just acceptable. Now, went to this other massage and had a nicer gal, cost me about THB 1,700. this girl was from Chiang Mai and a sweet lady.

I did go pretty much every day to Patong and also played tourist in between. is here in Phuket where I found the biggest Buddha in Thailand. One detail is how much built up Patong looks like, not really to my taste, specially remenbering how it looks when i first came here years ago.
As far the night spots in patong, they're so many and I feel it would be kind of boring mention them over and over again details that are in most of Phuket reports. Did go to Diablo Agogo in Soi Dragon during one of my barhoppings and got me this thai gal, also from Chiang mai. LEK was a solid choice and so much happy with her; l/t set me up THB 2,500=

I found this monument in Phuket town that was kind of funny, it shows some kind of chinese influence around here.
The malls are so much fun and you can spend all day there just taking on the sights, the Zoo is another stress relieving choice and took some time to take a Safari tour also.
Nightlife in Phuket town is more expensive than in Patong so be aware that if that's your choice be prepare to psend a decent amount of Baths in one night. places like Fantasia complex, the pink lady clubs, etc; are not cheap. just would like to add that they have a very good quality of ladies to chose from.
I didn't have any problems when it came time to head for the bus terminal for the buses to Hat Yai. Wanted to go there since I was this far south to check and see how much that town has change since i was there yars ago. surely remenber how wild it was in those days. It wasn't not far to the bus terminal and actually I walked down there, easy stroll soaking the sights!!!!
fare wasn't not much and if anybody can afford US$1,500-2,000 to fly anywhere in Asia, then, shouldn't be an issue spending a few dollars to get a ride to Hat Yai. got in a small van and the ride was nice and smooth. driver even stopped along the way for the mandatory piss/meal break. gorgeous weather and lots of green all the way up to the arrival in Hat Yai.

One of the things I enjoy about Thailand is that its not purely mongering destination, but there are lots of cultural things to see and do. The thing I least enjoy about Thailand is that its not a purely mongering destination. Sometimes I adore the Angeles City model of here is the hotel, there are the bars, those are the women and there is nothing else in-between;)
