this is a legendary hotel here and I remenber fondly when I was here years but years ago. you could spend all your time here and hardly leave the premises, you got here massage parlors, ktv, club, restaurant, bar, computer on the lobby, how convenient. room was about THB 600 (internet deal). was happy that the manager spoke english and helped me with my reservation. My room was on the 10th floor and it was old but very spacious, cable tv, fridge, nice view of downtown and most important, a HUGE BED!!!
The city council has been trying to clean up the town image over the past years and it has succeded in part, most of the rowdiness moved to the town of sadao, on the border with Malaysia; right before the crossing at Dannok. Since there is a heavy influx of malaysia crowds coming to hat Yai and remenber, this area is heavily muslim. so there you got it. you still find nightlife here but is more out of sight, not in "your face" anymore. the area around the Pink Lady hotel is surrounded with shops and is like that up to the train station. its also here where you find a few low budget hotels, personally i wouldn't stay there 'cause of the spartan conditions.
Most of the sex joints are found by the Palace hotel, by the 711 store as a guideline for ktvs (around THB 2,000 lt), Paragon disco has freelancers but I couldn't confirm it, right by the Lee Grand Plaza hotel you can find freelancers and a few of them young with solid bodies.
A few other choices for hotels to stay are the HatYai Palace hotel and the HatYai Wiangpin hotel; this last hotel is a good choice 'cause it has a fish bowl of sorts with a number of youngs ladies for massage, good alternative. other venues are the Garden Home hotel, with a excellent KTV staffed with young girls and not cheap, but, worth spending the monet there (price up to THB 3,000). most of big hotels have KTVs with girls for booking they don't call here barfine).
I went this KTV and booked this gal, vry cute and with a nice, solid body, Meum was from Chiang mai, cost me THB 2,000 lt.

Malls here are very good, of course, Robinson's is everywhere, it has a good food court, the HatYai plaza market is a good place for plenty of clothes at cheap prices. I went to the train station to get me a 1st class ticket, I was too late and had to settled for a 2nd class ticket, price was around THB 1,200.
Since the bell boy a the hotel kept nagging me with bringing girls to me I took up on his offer and got me a cute gal THB 2,000 lt). this chick name was LEW and she was ok, only problem i saw was that she used to pick sometimes the spare change i lave on top of the dresser; had to lock her heels to stop that nonsense.

You have a few places to spend the day around here but don't be looking for any megamall of sorts like in bangkok, not here. One of my concerns was the still muslim separatist movement but luckily it was all quiet on the southern front. I did saw, though, groups of soldiers at the train station.
