The trip to Manila was uneventful and pretty much I slept the whole way til landing. sometimes i don't understand Pinoy inmigration, most of the time don't even ask me for my return tickets but at the airport, the counter ladies don't miss a bit, it gets annoying sometimes.

I took a regular taxi to the Victory liner bus station on Pasay and then it was easy ride to Subic. I stayed at the rooftop hotel and restaurant on Barrio Barreto, nice place and at P1,000 can't beat it. place is kind of new and worth staying there, of course no problems bringing your girl for the nite.

I tend to always stay here in Barrio and Angeles city when in PI. specially Subic is so relaxing and desn't have the hustle and bustle of a big city. nightlife is acceptable and not so chocking if you're in AC or manila. more like a relax atmosphere around you. don't mind if sellection is low but you get more time just cruising around and plain chilling, plus having the beach at your disposal is a big but big plus.

Clubs are not so many and have the chance to check out club one, the office, boardwalk, wetspot, barreto club, lips, voddoo, angelwitch and some others can't recall. anyways, is just a single strip and no way you can miss any. had a good nite with this gal tracy from club one, nice girl and very willing to pleased.

When I headed to Angeles city, the Brassknob was my hotel choice. again, stayed here before and an acceptable place to be.

This is the hotel info;

I had a cute gal from Lost in Asia bar on perimeter road; this chick was so nice and pretty that wanted to stay longer but so sad i had to go. Margaritaville was still going strong as usual and you can find some freelancers there at night. of course, not surprized to see a SM mall inside clark base.

When i had to go back to Manila, I was at the slouch Inn and pub, on Ermita;

The place wasn't that bad and is a good place because wasn't too happy last time i was at the southern cross hotel across the street.

Since i wasn't going to spend the nite alone i went to the red Rooster around the street and got me this malay looking Pinay, not bad choice and it took a look of wrangling with the club piump to lower the barfine, but was worth the effort. Jean was her name and a simple gal well willing to pleased.

One thing to mention is that there's no airport service at this hotel so had to go to the hotel across and got me a ticket for my morning conmute. At the airport it was fast and painless the check in. My flight was a China Airlines so I had to transfer planes in TaiPei, not bad and even got time to take a free shoewer at the bathrooms at that airport, not bad.

This was a trip not quite long as i wanted to, but, guess we all got to work and unless I get real lucky and win the lotto, no otherr choice but to keep hacking at my job. anyways, so grateful for all the good times and memories i get on my trips.

Apologies if i was kind of late posting this report but still got about 3 more to post that i hope i can do it later this month. truly hope you guys like it and feel free to critisize but make constructive ones.

I'm just curious, how long was this trip? All of that traveling would drive me nuts!

Thanks for posting, a lot of the pictures really help to set the scene in some places I've been thinking of visiting.

Thanks guys for the comments. its a real booster knowing is an entertaining report. This particular trip, not exactly to the day, took me from start to finish around 4-5 weeks.
I do a lot of travel overseas, specially in Asia and I tend to take my vacation time, if possible, in this part of the world.
I want to post another 2 reports, at least, that I haven't had the time to do. I hope I can do at least one more before I head home. Right now in Pattaya, never a dull moment in this town. tonite just chilling and, honestly, had to chill 'cause i'm totally but totally "drained". Don't know about you guys, but, there're here more women than I can handle. anyways, still got til late next week before heading to AC/Subic (gonna used Subic as a strictly rest area!!!), so i figure i'd be ok. this trip in particular i'm covering again Singapore, side trip to Batam, then land route to sadao/Dannok/Hatyai and on to Bangkok/Pattaya.///

The Brass Knob looks like a square deal. How can you beat $25 a night for a room?

By Bigpoppa on Saturday, February 04, 2012 - 08:19 pm:  Edit

Rooftop hotel looks good especially at only 1000 pesos. And it's in Barrio Baretto which is another advantage.

I like VIP apartments but you have to switch trikes at the entrance to Baloy Beach Rd at night and you wake up the neighbors dogs when you come back late, probably waking up the whole street.

Not that you haven't given plenty of excellent info already, but do you have any more details on rooftop such as TV, bathroom, wifi etc?

Thanks for the informative report. Amazing you got sick from food in Singapore of all the places you visited.

I loved your photos and thanks for sharing.

Bigpoppa;
The Rooftop hotel is part of the Taco shop restaurant, it belongs to the same owner and its been open for at least 4 years. the front desk is on the second floor of the restaurant and next to the bar. entrance to the hotel rooms is from the restaurant itself or if you want, you could take the side entrance that offers stairs all the way up or take the elevator. all rooms are on the 3rd floor (think they're 8). all very clean and well maintained, cable tv, nice bath, hot water, ac, room service (food is awesome), decent bed and no problems bringing a lady for the nite. last time i check the rate is at least PHP 1,200. they do offer special rates but i guess you have to be there at the right time, kind of luck of the draw..
WIFI is offer on the lobby at the time i was there; heard they were going to wifi all the rooms BUT at the moment i was there only in the lobby and not the best of conforts for that. When i am in Barrio i go to the Treasure island hotel and use the wifi in the restaurant area./

Marco,

Thanks. The devil is always in the details. I can only see one strike, the wifi, but that's the least important matter for me.

I've seen the rooftop across the street from Arizona and it seems well contained and most importantly private. Thanks again.

Nice report and your photos brought back some memories. Subic is a nice place to recharge your batteries. You sure got around... it was sort of like watching the 60s tv series 'Run For Your Life' with Ben Gazzara.

Great reports, well done. Lots of good info. Keep up the good work and I look forward to your next report.

Ha ha! I checked out the Slouch Hat in Dec. Is that the 2nd floor room? Great staff!

Are the China Air cut-outs available for BF? I wish.

Had a lot of connections with your report--especially all the great pics you took of the places and the scenes. Thanks for the great memories, and love to check out that place in Subic!
