Some final thoughts as I prepare to leave. First one has to be... WTF, having to pony up to leave a country? That's always confounded me. The Philippines is the only country I know which pulls that shit.
Putting that aside this has been one of my best visits in many years. With a few exceptions the gals I BF'd were fun to hang out with, good to excellent GFE/Boom-Boom at very reasonable prices. I'm equally as pleased with Angeles as I am with Subic. If I had to make a choice and take one place over another it would be Subic but for only one reason, the OCEAN. I didn't find it any harder to procure IMO good looking, quality pulls in Angeles, at least on this trip it was a push. One of the reasons I feel Angeles was fairly easy pickens is my propensity for shopping earlier than most. You wait, you lose! I didn't manage any civvies this trip but spending only about a week in each city probably influenced that even though I had one opportunity in AC but blew it off.
I'm not they type of person to act as a shill or try to convince anyone that one place is better than another which I find all too often on this board. To me, it's all about sharing your experiences in story and photos which may influence someone to visit a certain local to form their own opinion. To be frank, no one is in my shoes and I really don't give a rats ass if someone agrees with me or not. I will always find time to visit the sleaziest little shit hole on earth.
For my next TR I'm thinking about splitting up two weeks between Padre Burgos in Makati and Cebu. When my honeyko and I vacationed in Cebu we really enjoyed the beaches. Plus, there's a small red light district which has had sparse coverage on CH. Haven't seen a decent Makati TR in quite some time either so why not?

Awesome report and doing anything to please anyone other than yourself in your travels is a waste and most likely won't work, so good on you for not giving a rat's ass.
Please do report on Cebu if you go. I think the only way I'd return to the PI would be to go there. The hottest Flips are from there, so why not go to the source? Plus I'm sure there's far fewer AC ass clowns in Cebu City.

Indeed, great report - I am with you on that "....I will always find time to visit the sleaziest little shit hole on earth"....comment. I guess that is why I like AC so much :-) Pretty much up there from a sleazy perspective, with shit surroundings - pretty awesome!
I can't wait to go back!!!!!!!!!!

I join the others in thanking you for a nice report. I will be arriving in almost exactly a week, and hope to have half as much fun as you had.
I had hoped to extend this next trip and head to Cebu, but it didn't work out. I agree with LM that it seems many of the hottest filipinas are to be found there, and the beaches are far nicer than Subic's.

Too bad you have to leave, as I know I'm not the only one enjoying your reports and photos. Many nice-looking Filipinas, and reports of good times still available at reasonable prices. Thanks for taking the time to report.
Cebu is on my list, too. Cebuanas definitely have a different look (which I find more attractive), possibly because they have more Spanish blood in them. I just wish there was some information on mongering in Cebu available/up to date.

I have heard that you go to Cebu for hitting up semi-pros on the dating sites like DIA & such. Perhaps Sockboy can chime in? We could all use some actionable intel.

Don't feel bad about the PI departure tax. 550 Piso ($12.90) is really pretty cheap by international standards and no arrival tax in PI. Good ol' USA charged you $23.70 departing USA and ANOTHER $34.20 arriving back on the same trip. Only difference is the US gov collected their $57.90 when you bought your ticket and PI gov collected their $12.90 at the airport.
I presume the PI government has more centralized control over whomever embezzles the money that way.

Lol. Yes don't forget that we pay a 9/11 security fee every time we fly in the US. So while your being pointlessly microwaved prior to flight, you're also paying for the privelege. Uncle Dick Cheney's outfit has to make money some how. We're no better than these other piss pot countries around the world.

Bigpoppa
Why didn't Obama and the Dems when they conroled both houses get rid of the 9/11 security fee. They sure found a way to get Obamacare passedtha they great majority of Americans are opposed to!

Jack25 must be Protege....only two posts, and all anti-Obama crap. Would be nice to stay on topic and not let this great trip report end with garbage political rhetoric.
It is amazing how some individual contribute absolutely nothing whatsoever and the board would be off so much better without them (like Protege)

Topfrog,
I traveled to Cebu several years back to hook up with a civilian I met on one of the filipina dating sites.
It was an interesting experience. After writing back and forth for a couple of months I arrived at the airport and she picked me up. Don't have any pictures handy but she was a cute spinner, one of the best looking I could find on the site. College degree and was a rep for a major drug company.
So we get back to my hotel and she explains that she wasn't writing to me, other members of her family were. A bit dumbfounded, I figured I would cut my losses and hit the p4p options I found on this board as a back-up.
That night we were in bed in my room humping like rabbits. She had this unusual habit of giggling right before we got down to sex, which I think is a nervous reaction.
We spent 4 or 5 days together. She couldn't spend the night because of her family, which left me open for other venues. We went to Moal Boal, snorkling and made out like teenagers in the pool of some nice resort & spa. I hung out with her family and got a very good idea of how locals live.
Overall, the company and sex was great. I paid for meals, transportation and entertainment, but in Cebu, that was really cheap.

Hi Jack,
Welcome to the board. One question. Why not change your handle to knee jerk? If someone were assailing your character would Dick Cheney risk a penny to defend you? No he would not. So stop taking it personally like he's a blood relative.
It appears you've ASSumed I'm an Obama supporter. Typical black and white thinking of a lurker with no mongering info to offer. I can't answer your question as to why the 9/11 fee is still around, you'll have to email Obama for that one.
I think microwaving everyone and checking them for athlete's foot is futile as the hundreds of flights entering the US every day from other countries don't do this screening and those planes are circling above your silly brain at this moment.
If you ever traveled abroad to monger this reality would be more clear to you.

Not so fast everyone, it's surely Birdlips reborn. This could be entertaining!
By Bwana_dik on Friday, April 27, 2012 - 11:01 am: Edit |
Birdlips or Beachman. We have a few board turd droppers who have been MIA. The approaching election will bring the worms out of the woodwork, and they'll be dropping political turds into every trip report that comes along.
I have no problem with these idiots scribbling their nonsense, but I have a BIG PROBLEM with their infecting trip reports and other substantive hobby-related threads with their drivel.
There's a place they can post their political BS (in the "Politics"" section). This allows those of us with no interest in the thoughts emanating from their tiny brains to easily avoid them. Posters should be banned if they start posting political stuff elsewhere.
By Jack25 on Friday, April 27, 2012 - 04:57 pm: Edit |
Talk to BigPoppa staring the political rants on this threa. Why is it that there are a handful of assholes on all of these boards that feel they can intimidate all other members who post their opinion with a lot of trash talk. I am sure the owner of this site makes much more money off this site from the hundreds who post nothing or little on this site.
So you handful and you know who you are, who satisfy your egos talking big shit and bullying others with alot of crap because you are losers in the real world, SHUT THE FUCK UP!!

Popcorn, thank you very much for your report!
It was a well told story and both the information re the different hotels and places as well as the babes pictures made it quite entertaining.
It sure made me wish I was there! I, unfortunately, have only been in the Phils once and that was long ago. But I will make it a point to hit again this year.
Thanks to your report I now have a better idea of how to go about the trip. And I certainly look forward on your Cebu report as it sounds like a nice and chill place to visit...especially if there is plenty of pussy around.
Cheers

Cuba charges a departure tax of $25.
Colombia also has a tourist/departure tax but it is included in the major airline fares. I am pretty sure Brazil has some kind of tax included in the airfare as well.
By Copperfieldkid on Wednesday, May 02, 2012 - 08:10 am: Edit |
Re: departure taxes.
Most of the time taxes are included in your ticket fares. Best to inquire when purchasing your ticket. Regardless, they can always be paid on a local level, just one more line and one more step to deal with tho. FYI for those that travel on passes [buddy included] they will ALWAYS have to be paid at the departure airport.
By 694me on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 - 01:44 pm: Edit |
Thailand also makes you pay to leave. Other counties hide it in the fare.
By Bwana_dik on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 - 04:07 pm: Edit |
My exit taxes from Thailand were included in my ticket price. I did not have to pay when leaving, as I did when leaving the Philippines. Ditto in Colombia, where it depends on which airline you fly whether they include all of the exit taxes. I had to pay $15US when leaving Colombia.
By Murasaki on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 - 07:28 pm: Edit |
The departure tax out of Bangkok has been included in the ticket price for a number of years now - at least 4 years if not more. Can't speak for Phuket.
By Copperfieldkid on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 - 08:54 am: Edit |
The majority of carriers include the departure taxes in the fare. Often it depends on the particular country visited; always check in advance to know what to expect, as paying upon departure will require a little more time and money.
By Bwana_dik on Wednesday, May 23, 2012 - 12:09 pm: Edit |
CFK is right. For most countries the fees (called exit taxes and other things) are included in the price of the ticket. For some countries (such as Colombia) it depends on the airline, and for others (Philippines) they are never included. According to Orbitz, the countries currently charging entrance or exit fees that are not (or not always) included in the ticket price are Argentina, Colombia, DR, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and the Philippines.

You can add Indonesia to that list as well.
