I was searching on DateInAsia.com (hereafter DIA) and spotted a not-bad-looking girl who happened to be online at that moment. Here is the profile photo that she used:



So I arranged to meet her at my hotel. She said that she didn't have cab fare, so I offered to pay it after asking how far away she was. She said she was about 45 minutes away. My metered ride from the airport took about 45 minutes and it cost 300 pesos.

She asked (now via SMS) if she could bring her niece because she was too shy to come alone. No problem, I told her. I said we could walk over to the mall for lunch. She said she didn't want to be seen in the mall because of all the prostitutes working there! (I didn't know that! But I didn't say, "Thanks for the tip honey!" I sure didn't notice any yesterday, but I had been exhausted from the flight.)

She texted when they got here and I went out front to meet them. A cab with opaque tinted windows pulled up. The first girl to get out was definitely not the one in the photo. Neither was the second. Or was she? She might have been if that photo was years old. I asked the driver what the fare was and he pointed to the meter, which said 145 pesos, only about half of what I expected. So I suspected that they had lied about where they came from.

I wasn't attracted to either of them, so instead of taking them up to my room we sat down in the hotel lobby. I just wanted to end this situation, so I frankly said, "You know, you don't look much like the girl in the photo." They then admitted that it was a photo of neither of them. They said it was a photo of a friend of theirs. I asked why. They gave a flimsy excuse about not feeling safe about posting their photos, etc. (So they're going do their friend the favor of posting her photo instead?) However, they said, their friend (the one in the photo) was on her way over. And that they were leaving, but I should wait for their friend. Bull shit.

After reporting the fake profile on DIA, I headed over to the mall for lunch. :-) Again no prostitutes there, but that's OK. I've got quite a to-do list already in terms of where to look, now that I've finally got a good night's sleep under my belt, along with a belly full of grilled kitong (whole fish), pancit, and fried kangkong.

By the way, I like the changes they've made to the DIA site. Now the search results are just photos. The photos go across the page so that I can see view more at once. You don't spend so much time searching through hundreds of pages of Filipinas.

I prefer not to meet girls off the dating sites for exactly this reason. Unless you do serious due diligence in advance (have some video conversations via Skype, YM or MSN so you can verify their appearance, etc.), you stand a good chance of being on the wrong end of a bait-and-switch scam. And if a girl is not a prostitute, you are probably talking about investing some time and money before you see any pussy. Not what I want to do when I'm on vacation. I'd rather go straight to the prostitutes rather than trying to figure out which DIA girl might eventually fuck me.

When I see a pic like THAT on DIA, I just assume it's a GUY and move on. I'm not sure what you were thinking that something that looks like that is a single provincial girl looking for a soulmate. Have you ever chatted with a filipina before?

Bwana's right on both accounts, if you're there for a weeklong bombing run, trying to meet possible "good girls" is a waste of time. And in ANY event, if they won't chat with you or verify their personage, don't waste even a minute of your time?

Let's not forget FilipinaCupid.com. I video-chatted with several girls on that site, all matched their profile photos. And while I was a member (platinum, of course) I got 8 to 15 emails a day of pinays who wanted to meet me, and spirit them away to a better life in the United States (along with their families, no doubt). Most were 18 to 25, although I didn't lie about my age (64 at the time). Most had one or more kids.

I have no idea how easily I could have bedded them, as I did not follow up by turning the conversation to sex (my buddy Randalst's winning strategy). But it was kind of fun at the computer, and definitely good for my aging ego.

Bingo! Filipinas can look really good, some of them can fuck really good, but most of them just have no redeeming qualities. In fact the more time spent with them, the more of a headache it gets to be. They really are like American wives in the long run, but with a family in tow taking precedence over you.

Even if she did look like the pic, it seems like a lot of time and effort to pick up a girl when thousands of equal or better LBFMs were available immediately and nearby.

One of the guys in Rio tried this a few years ago, I dubbed it Operation Vestal Virgin. It ended poorly, as most of these things do. You're in the PI, just go with a pro, no muss and no fuss. None of this "amateur" or "cherry girl" bullshit.

I would not even restrict it to the 18-25 y/o range. I have found having an extended conversation with any Filipina to be challenging. Then if you extend this to Thai girls this becomes especially challenging from a communication perspective.

I tried the DIA approach before and it is painful! When you do finally have a few girls lined up it takes tons of wasted time on yahoo messenger to maintain the girls before your trip. With nothing to talk about and mostly nothing common, chatting becomes like pulling teeth.

I think the consensus here is that DIA etc is going about it backwards. Sort of like ready, fire, aim. Much better to sample different girls night by night and collect cells and emails. Avoid giving yours out though.

I usually try to get my best 2 performers back on my last two days and tip a little extra. Once home I send one email from a separate account after the trip. Before the next trip if you think a chick is worth repeating, email her again and tell her you're coming back. Nothing in between, any more communication and she'll just take you for granted as opposed to an unexpected bonus. The tip you gave out should ring her greed bell loud enough for a good reuniting session or maybe a few days GFE. After that, move on. If she's still better than your new finds, call her back at the end of the trip.
