After reading Infanticides reports, I decided to rent an apartment rather than booking a hotel or a stay at the Mansion. I wanted to avoid “chica fees” and just any kind of frat environment or looks from snobby hotel staff. Thanks to advice from Medellin Madman I took his recommendation and rented Joel’s penthouse apartment in Poblado, it was a 3 bedroom with Jacuzzis, cable and free calls to the USA. Joel seemed like a friendly guy, he gave me a decent rate where it would be 1200 USD for the 7 days, which meant that splitting it with my buddy my share would be 600 USD. I know I probably could have gotten something cheaper but I really wanted to have a stunning high class place and I felt it was a fair price for a 3 bedroom penthouse. Maybe next time I will use one of Joels cheaper apartments.

I booked a flight on Avianca that left Monday morning to Medellin at 9am. It was a direct flight so it would be a 5 hour flight going. Coming back would be an overnight flight so I would leave at 945pm with a quick stop to bogota for a hour and change layover to then take a flight to NYC, the return flight would clock in at 8 hours. All this for $526.70 a fair price I think.

I was pretty well prepared this trip. I took with me two costumes, a pocket rocket, a tongue vibrator, a vibrating ring condom, ribbed finger sleeves (that glowed in the dark) for fingering pleasure, chocolate & strawberry KY jelly, my handy cam video recorder and a nice digital camera I picked up at a pawn shop for 80 bucks. As for gifts, I went to my local dollar store and picked up a shit load of toys (hot wheels, barbies and junk) since one thing I have learned is that girls always have kids and they can never shut up about them. Giving them a gift for their kids goes a long way.

Shit, having a high end penthouse is a steal with two people once you consider how much the Mansion charges.

One thing I have learned is not to be some kind of pushover-gringo with these girls. Respectful is one thing, but being "too nice" is more a sign of weakness and not a desirable quality if you are expecting...well a hot, heated, passionate time.
If you want to feel good about giving some present -- make it sexy and more about her (and indirectly you too)....perfume, VS products, etc.

The whole reason for taking a trip is to escape all that domestic bullshit, next thing you know you are going to the pharmacy to buy the girl tampons too.

Cincoleche that's just how I roll. I actually like "domestic bullshit" on my terms of course. Its just a personal choice. I actually had a very passionate time with girls I gave toys to. There's no right or wrong answer here.

Sure it's a bargain, long as you pay for your own breakfast, pay for the laundry, find your own way around the casas by day instead of having the human map, Boyd, help you with gems. And that you find your way around the streets without a-- what's that other guy's name?--and don't mind being on your own with zero camaraderie that the Castillo offers.

Don't like to see badmouthing of my pals Boyd and Robert even though the pull of Angeles has kept me from Castillo for four years now.

That apartment looks fantastic. Sounds like you had a great time despite the almost unbearable hardship of having to get your own breakfast.

@ Paulyvegas. Your boys Boyd and Robert were never even mentioned let alone badmouthed and as Coqui specifically stated, he was trying to avoid the Camaraderie/frat house environment at the Mansion so for him (and many others) that wouldn't be a selling point.

Easy folks, not looking to argue. Those guys and that establishment were always good to me, which is something I don't forget.

Just wanted to set the record straight. If I ever went to Medellin I would probably stay at the Mansion. It seems like a good option for first timers.

I have been to Medellin 12 times. My first time was at a beautiful apartment, and my next 11 have been at the Mansion. I know that everyone has different desires, but I've done both and have a cell phone full on numbers, and still stay at the Mansion.

That first trip was a free apartment lent to me by Wallstreet. Wonder what happened to him.
