Playa del Carmen is a medium-size town about 45 minutes south of Cancun. It's also one of the most rapidly growing towns in Mexico. It is a popular place for day visits from Cancun and nearby resorts. This is the big tourist area of Mexico and is fairly safe.

I vacationed in PDC for 10 days. It's not a major monger destination, but there is still plenty to keep one busy. Reasonably priced. The exchange rate is near a multi-year high of 14 pesos to 1 USD.

I experienced a lot of the town and had a great time, without breaking the bank. The highlight was a series of progressively erotic massages I had with one wonderful lady, a true journey covering ground I had not experienced before. I will share that later.

On arrival at Cancun airport, I took a bus to PDC. Cost was 114 pesos ($8), much cheaper than taxi. Bus was large and modern. They don't run all the time, check the schedules. I think mine was at 10pm and was the last of the night.

I got in late the first night, checked in at my hotel and went to sleep. It was one of many less expensive hotels in town, around $40/night. It was fairly quiet, clean and simple. Just right. Although the guy who provided security at night said it would not be any problem, I did not end up bringing any chicas back to my hotel room this trip.

First day, I started right in on one of my main objectives for this vacation, to explore the local massage scene. There are tons of places to get a massage on the famous long walking street 5th Avenue, nearby on intersecting streets, and on the beach. Prices typically run $25-$35 US per hour. I first had a massage on the beach, $25/hr plus $10 tip. This was in the open with other people getting a massage nearby, so it was strictly legit. Later I had a massage at a place on 5th Avenue, $30/hr plus $5 tip. This one was in a private room, strictly legit too.

The vast majority of the masseuses are young to middle-age women, but they are out in the open advertising and soliciting business, so I'm sure it is almost an entirely legit business in PDC. However, I was determined to explore this scene, and see what might be possible. I got a feeling that some chicas might discretely be willing to do more, and I was determined to find out. If it took me awhile, no problem, because I would still be getting good, cheap massages every day.

The evening of Day 1 was CRAZY. I first went to a strip club called El Farallon (CH Link), just off the main highway. $10 entry fee and 100 pesos ($8) for two beers. I sat down next to a table of 3 young local guys who had also just arrived. They were friendly and invited me to join them. We drank beers and watched the chicas, some were quite hot. As a gringo you will get your share of attention in the local strip clubs. My Mexican buddies wanted to try another club so we took off in their truck to another club called La Hueva (CH Link). More beers and fine chicas. My Mexican buddies weren't spending on the chicas though, one of them decided to call up a chica friend of his, and after a couple phone calls the plan was arranged. I was invited along. Took off in the truck again, after a mile or so we dropped one of the guys off at his home, then went to another house to meet the chica. Her name was Fabiola, a cute chica, a bit overweight, maybe a 7. We took turns and I was offered to go first. She charged me 300 pesos ($22 US) and we were done in about 20 minutes. An OK experience, nothing great, this was the bottom of the barrel in PDC. But it was part of the local adventure I had stumbled into tonight, and so in that regard it was all good. When the next guy went in, I asked another guy to drive me back to the highway so I could catch a taxi back to my hotel. Which he did, and we high-fived for a good night. I had a good vibe with these guys and trusted them, but I have to admit I took some additional risk going with them. Crazy !

Admirable that you decided to go along for the ride with those guys. I've done stuff like that in Puerto Vallarta a few times and always had a blast. I'm anxious to read more about a rarely covered destination...

Some photos of Quinta Avenida AKA 5th Avenue. This is the main street and the main attraction of PDC. Pedestrian-only, it runs over a mile long with seemingly endless shopping, restaurants, massage places, hotels, etc etc. It is very impressive. Though after walking a few blocks you'll see the types of stores tend to repeat themselves.

5th Avenue is great for people watching too, mostly tourists and some locals. It is by far the most active street daytime and nightime.

Esteban - Your reports are always informative even though most members would likely avoid a destination of this sort for mongering activities. The one common thread which runs through all of your TR's is you've never posted any personal photos of the girls you've met. What's up with that?

I really like Playa del Carmen. The beach, in my opinion, is one of most beautiful and relaxing in the world. Catching the nearby ferry over to Cozumel for a day of snorkeling/scuba is incredible.
The hotels are right on the beach and the accommodations are pretty good for a reasonable value.

I'd like to hear of some available P4P chica scenes. I have always taken a girl there so wasn't looking too hard, but got the impression it was extremely limited.

You are correct Popcorn, very observant. The simple answer is taking photos just isn't a priority for me. I have taken photos a few times in Panama and Chile. I shared those photos offline with some guys, and would have shared them here (they were hotties), but I never got around to posting those trip reports. That's about 1% of all the chicas I've seen; so I rarely take photos in the first place.

Cinco, I knew there had to be at least one guy here who liked Playa del Carmen. I didn't take the ferry to Cozumel, but that is on my list for a return visit. I did skuba dive off the PDC beach, I know Cozumel is better, but it was my first time and I enjoyed it. I have plenty of info to share, stay tuned, this may be the most detailed mongering trip report of PDC ever posted. The action is neither obvious nor plentiful, but there are still several options once you know about them.

The beach is very good, expansive, soft sand, almost no rocks in the water. The latter is important if you like to play in the waves and get thrown about. In this regard it is much better than some of the nearby resort beaches. Hehe, those people are paying more money for a lesser beach. The PDC beach is almost as good as the one in Cancun, which is top-notch.

You may find yourself wanting a shower to clean off. I only found one free public shower, at the very end of the beach near the Cozumel ferry dock (last pic).

Fortunately there is a better option. Just fork up a few bucks to rent a lawnchair in front of one of the many beachside bars. Typical cost is 50 pesos ($4) for a lawnchair and umbrella if you want one. They typically have a food and drink menu, reasonably priced, with beachside service to your chair. I did this most days and the waiters got to recognize me and wave me over. I usually tipped them 25-35 pesos when I left after a few hours. These places have restrooms and simple showers for their customers. There are a few vendors offering 1 hour massages along the beach too. So the beach is pretty much set up to cater to your every need (well, almost). If the weather cooperates, it is a golden time.

I actually love PDC.

Back in the "pre-mongering" era I was doing quite well for myself and was making several trips there a year. I used to always stay at nice little boutique-hotel called "Alhambra" (or something like that) right on the beach with great balcony view and really close to the water. I recall a great rate of only $75 with an extra guest fee of $25, one time I took 2 girls(both liked each and not pro's) and was amazing adventure.
The girls I had taken were both bi-sexual, so we did venture a little in search of girls. They were both hot latinas, unfortunately the rest of the girls in the club scene were mostly white gringas (seemed to be a lot of Germans for some reason).
Once I found out about Rio de Janeiro, almost all my trips focused around there....but now I am actually thinking of taking a near-and-dear brasiliera with me on a real trip and PDC was at the top of my list.

Like Cancun beaches, PDC is comprised of corral which is denser and therefore does not mix in the water like sand does. The water there is literally crystal-clear. If you enjoy the water, scuba, snorkel, this area is one of the best in the world.

You need a taxi to get to this club from PDC. It's the top high-end club in the area, and most expensive.

I didn't go to Chilly Willy's, my priority was to explore the clubs in town. I did get several offers from taxi drivers, they probably get a commission. There are reviews elsewhere, sounds like it can be a good time, hot chicas and sex on site, but also a place where it's important to be alert and informed to avoid potential ripoffs. Most of their business probably comes from tourists from the nearby resorts, many of whom are not likely seasoned mongers and could be taken advantage of. I will have to check it out next trip and see how it stacks up against Marlin.

I went to the Chilly Willys both the one mentioned above and the one on the outskirts of Cancun. Both of them are in almost desolate areas. In my experience, there were a handful of a decent-looking girls. But to Esteban's point this place serves only tourists (I actually saw no mexicans hanging out there) so don't expect much more than a gringo-fuck. There's the constant feeling that you are in a tourist-trap and are going to be scammed either by the joint or the girl or both. Maybe things have changed, but considering all the resorts and constantly new tourists I doubt it. Not recommended unless you are really desperate.

Marlin Men's Club (CH Link)

Location: On the main highway, intersection with Av. Benito Juarez.

This is the top high-end club within the town. Easy to find, right at the intersection of two main roads. Most of the clientele are likely tourists, and it has a bit of a tourist trap feel, but just ask questions and figure out the deal and you should be fine. I went here 3 times and enjoyed.

Chicas: Usually 10-15 from various latin countries, range 7-9.
Entrance Fee: 0 to $20 US.
Your Drink: 2 for 100 pesos.
Chica Drink: 220 pesos (~ $16 US).
Lap Dances: 200 pesos (~ $15 US).

My first visit here I was charged $20 US entry fee. Second visit I pretended I would leave if I had to pay the fee, and the front door guy let me in free. Third visit he greeted me with a warm welcome and I went in free. I gave him a small tip (50 pesos) both of those times.

Inside the club is medium size, with chairs and tables surrounding a long stage. You can sit right near the stage, or back a bit. The waiters are dressed up in suits, very service oriented and of course looking for tips at the end of the night. One waiter I got to know, I was friendly with but one night he thought my tip was low. I said it was a good tip, but he persisted. We went back and forth, and eventually he broke a smile and laughed and said OK. It was just a game, lol. Another time a waiter said I couldn't sit right next to the stage unless I paid more, but I had done so with a different waiter on a previous visit for no charge. Point is, waiters here may try to run some games on you, but just be alert. It didn't bother me, stand your ground and they will respect it. You have the $.

Chica selection is not huge, but decent. The quality is excellent. I saw several 8's and 9's. The best were 4 chicas from Venezuela, two of which were solid 9's - Naomi and Camila.

Chicas will stop over and chat a bit, but you have to buy them a drink to get them to stay. One chica drink gets you maybe 15 minutes. They will dance a little for you, sit on your lap, some touchy feely, etc. I had drinks with several, including 3 of the Venezolanas, and an Argentinian bombshell, Alejandra. Alejandra was a tall, tan, leggy, busty woman, mid-twenties, looks like one of those latin television hotties with DD's. A bit of a star in the club no doubt, but she knew it and was not as intimate as others. Unlike other chicas I invited for a drink, she moved my hands away when I tried to get a titty feel, saying "not out here baby". Needless to say I picked other chicas for laps.

Lap dances are good value, great contact. They are in simple booths in the back with a curtain for privacy. I had lap dances with 4 different chicas. The highlight was Camila, one of the Venezolana hotties. Camila was about 21 years old, slim, beautiful, great DD's (fake but well done). A true body to die for. I took her for 5 laps, and I had my hands all over her. She occasionally rubbed my bulging crotch too. I can't remember who initiated it, but we negotiated some hand action for a $20 US tip. So this beauty kneels down in front of me, unzips me with a smile, takes me out, and proceeded to pleasure me with her hands and breasts. I told her to go slow so I wouldn't blow too fast. As the fifth song started I told her, OK this song. A short while later she was stroking a huge load from me all over the floor. One of the hottest lap dance experiences I've ever had. Damage was 5 songs and a $20 tip, about $90 US. I got the sense that only some, not all chicas provide this level of lap dance mileage. I was a bit concerned the staff would see the mess and might give me some dirty looks later, but Camila acted like it was nothing and I never got any dirty looks. Coming out of the stall, the lady who is some kind of lap dance coordinator greeted me and asked for a tip, I gave her a small one just to grease the wheels for future visits.

There are private rooms on site for sex. I was quoted $250, all inclusive, this may be somewhat negotiable. I thought about it, but declined.

I found Marlin to be a good, fun club, with hot chicas, but on the slightly expensive side ($100-$300 range for a good night). The stage dances are good, the laps are good to great, and there are private rooms available. I am pretty sure some chicas, at the right price, can be seen outside the club as well.

Esteban, thanks for scouting all this out, please keep the TR rolling. I've been to Playa Del Carmen before to switch buses coming from the airport and continuing on to Tulum for an awesome week of cave diving. While in PDC, I visited the Pleasure Palace in 2010 and I remember it being $250 for an hour a little more if you paid in pesos.

I was sat down with a drink in one of the rooms and one by one the girls came in, kissed me and introduced themselves. Some gave a good hip twist to try to get me interested and then walked out. I liked this. It was much more personable than a fish bowl and you could see who's got good chemistry and who's cold. To me, reading chemistry is invaluable as looks alone are no indication of whether a good time is forthcoming.

Out of 8, only 2 seemed unfriendly and maybe one didn't look good. So I took the girl with the biggest tits and went upstairs. The rooms were well appointed with a king sized bed like a Mike John POV shoot but more Mexican in design. She blew me as soon as my pants were down and gave a good GFE session on the bed, on the floor, bent over the dresser etc. Afterwards I went into the bathroom for a frigid shower with her, and she killed the water and soaped me up and guided me to start titty fucking her. She had to sit on the toilet lid so I could get leverage and I proceeded to melt in between those huge natural tits until I popped.

I should have tipped her, but at $250, I don't feel bad about it, hopefully she gets a good cut of that. The next time I came back for cave diving I took her again and the magic was gone. To be honest, I doubt she remembered me, perhaps a tip would have helped that and garnered another A+ session....oh well...I guess I need to rethink my tipping strategy.

To sum it up...Pleasure Palace which is tucked away in one of the side walking streets off the main drag is a pit stop for husbands while their wives are at the beach and the guys are out playing 9 holes of golf saying it was 18, hence the high price tag. They know Mr. Griswold is not going to risk a scene with the police in Mexico. So it's no monger port of call at all, but if like me you're on your way to a small town where you won't be mongering for a few days, you can get a session in to hold you over.

SOAPBOX: BTW, I'd only recommend the bus to PDC as it's less than $10, it's usually a brand spanking new Hyundai with AC, shade curtains etc. I have a hard time understanding people's aversions to travelling on a bus as though they weren't just packed in like sardines on a plane. Commercial buses with that huge wheelbase give a much smoother ride than a car or van, have more headroom and legroom than the air plane you were just on, and are 80% cheaper than hiring a car. I know I'd rather put that money towards pussy, booze and better hotel rooms.

OFF THE SOAPBOX. Info: At the bus station upstairs is a luggage storage shop that's like 10 pesos for a suitcase and 5 for smaller bag for two hours. Very convenient so you can go onto the main drag and have a bite to eat before going to Pleasure Palace. Just ask the maitre d' at whatever gringo tourist trap you're bound to eat at where Pleasure Palace is and he'll tell you how to get there, so he can collect a tip from them later.

Bigpoppa, good info, matches my experience and opinion. The buses are modern and comfortable, much cheaper than a taxi, the saved money can be spent elsewhere. You may have to wait a bit for the bus to PDC depending on schedules vs. flight arrival. On the return to Cancun airport, you can buy your ticket at the PDC bus station a day in advance for a specific departure time (recommended), and just show up with little wait.

I had a good experience at PP too, will post that later.

Black Jack (CH Link)

Location: On the main highway, 1 block down from Marlin.

Another easy to find strip club. By the intersection of the main highway (Carretera Federal) and Calle 2 Norte, on the same side as Marlin. For reference, these clubs are about a 5-10 minute walk from 5th Avenue. I am not sure if Black Jack in PDC is affiliated with Black Jack in Cancun (which I also visited on a separate trip).

First time I went, the young dude at the front door wanted $20 US for entry. He didn't budge, so I walked. A few days later I came back, and got in free.

A fairly typical strip club. Compared with Marlin, Black Jack is: larger, darker, less expensive, similar quantity chicas (10-15), lower quality chicas (6-8.5), more continuous stage dancing, more locals not just tourists. Booths for lap dances are near the front with a semi-see-through curtain, so not as private as Marlin. Can't remember if there are rooms on site. I just had a few drinks here (40 pesos each), and briefly chatted with a few chicas. Again, cash is king, so off-site hookups may be negotiable.

El Farallon (CH Link)

Location: Calle 24 Norte, just off the main highway, many blocks down from Marlin.

This is the third of three clubs along (or near) the main highway: Marlin -- Black Jack -- El Farallon. In that order, both geographically and descending cost/quality.

This is where I started my first night, see my earlier post. $10 entry fee and 100 pesos ($8) for two beers. Mostly locals. About 10 chicas, range 6-8.5. Small to mid-size. The lap dance booths are cheap and simple, not completely private. I did not spend any money on chicas here, though a couple did come over and sat in my lap and were very friendly. Could be a good warm up spot.

Tentaciones (CH Link)

Location: On the Tulum side of Av. Benito Juarez.

Sorry no street address, but it's right behind La Nueva Marimba, near a McDonalds I think.

Stopped in here once. Tipped the front door guy 50 pesos to get in. Medium size club, not upscale, nothing special. Plenty of seating around a central stage. Drinks are 40 pesos. 5-10 chicas, range 6-7. I bought a chica drink (200 pesos) for "Alison", we hung out for awhile then took her for a 2-for-1 lap dance also for 200 pesos. OK lap dance, not high mileage. Probably my least favorite strip club in town.

La Hueva (CH Link)

Location: Corner of Calle 28 Norte & 40 Av. Norte (Cancun side of Av. Constituyentes)

In PDC, generally the Avenidas run parallel with the main highway, the Calles run perpendicular.

Had stopped in here first night with some local guys, and returned again once more on my own. A small but nice club, semi-upscale. You can sit right up at the stage, or well back in plush seating. 5-10 chicas, range 7-8.5. Good place to chill and drink beers for an hour or two.

Beers are 50 pesos. Chica drinks are 240 pesos. Hung out with a hot one by the name of Marusy, some good touchy feely and rubbing enjoyed. The lap dance booths seemed cheap for an otherwise nice club, and did not appear fully private, so I passed. Can't remember if they have rooms on site, possibly. Locals come here. Good place.

La Selva (CH Link)

Location: Corner of Calle 32 Norte & 30 Av. Norte (Cancun side of Av. Constituyentes)

The cheapest, most "local" clientele club. I didn't feel in danger, but if I had to pick which club might be the most dangerous I'd pick this one. But it was also one of the funnest. I don't think they get many gringos here, I got plenty of attention from the chicas. About 10 chicas, range 6-8. I picked an 8 named Nicol, bought her a chica drink for 200 pesos. My beer was 40. Another chica who was upset I didn't pick her, sat down next to us and stared us down for several minutes. Frickin weird ! I took Nicol over to another table and fortunately psycho chica didn't follow. This club doesn't stay open late. As it was soon closing time, Nicol proposed some off-site action. We agreed on 800 pesos (~ $60 US) and to meet outside down the block in 10 minutes. We met, walked a few blocks to her small apartment and had a good sweaty fuck. Another little adventure in Playa del Carmen.

Pleasure Palace (CH Link)

Location: From the intersection of 5th Avenue and Av. Benito Juarez, walk one block down 5th towards the Cozumel dock, then turn right and walk a few doors down.

Check the photo, this place has no sign, nothing. You would never guess that behind that nondescript black gate is a literal Mexican Pleasure Palace !

Pleasure Palace is not a strip club, but rather a well-furnished brothel. I stopped by, rang the buzzer and was let in. I was asked if I had been there before. I said yes, which was true. Was taken to a room and soon 4 chicas came in one by one and introduced themselves. Some more friendy and sexy than others. All in the 8 - 8.5 range. Very good quality. It was very tempting, but I passed. My intention was just to check the talent for a possible future visit, which never happened.

On a previous trip, I had spent a day in PDC and had visited Pleasure Palace. The chica quality had also been very good then, and I took one for $250, good time, same deal as Bigpoppa reported above. Bigpoppa summed this place up well, so refer to his post for further details.

Pleasure Palace is a very convenient, discrete incall location to find high quality chicas in PDC. Perfect for the monger travelling with non-mongers, who can get away for an hour. Good if you're solo too, but $250 is pricy for this town. I suspect if you played dumb (i.e., plan ahead) and opened your wallet to show you only had $220 or so, they might accept it vs. risking you walking away and not returning.

SOCIAL CLUBS

There are several clubs in town where local guys go to socialize, drink and dance with chicas known as "meseras". The chicas are generally young (< 25) and in the 6-8 range with an occasional hottie. No entry fee, reasonable drink prices.

I didn't explore them too much, though I did poke my head inside several, and had a drink in one. As a gringo you will stand out. Keep a low profile, don't be flashy, and don't mess with any of the chicas or move in on one who is claimed. Some of the guys drink a little too much, jealousy can brew, I saw some funny stuff.

I don't know the deal with the chicas, whether they are paid to work there or just make money from drinks and customer tips. You could just go hang out, drink and watch. If searching for a chica, keep it low key, get a private table, maybe see if you can get a phone number, or to meet after closing.

Las Hamacas is the largest one I saw. Fairly busy. This is where I stayed and had a drink.

Abrevader. Poked my head in one night as a taxi driver was driving me around to a few of these clubs. Near the door I saw a table full of hot young chicas, all 8s - 9s. Whoa. Didn't stay, but I spent the next several days trying to find this club again ! Eventually I did, but the quality was lower, though that may have been because it was daytime. Worth a look in the evenings.

Pickings were slim at Kumbala, La Nueva Marimba, and Bar Sergio's. But who knows, you could find a diamond in the rough.

I would probably explore these clubs a little deeper on a return visit to PDC.

Viagra

Generic Vitamin V was available at low cost without prescription. I bought from one pharmacy at the corner of Av. Benito Juarez and 25th. It's on the same corner as Marlin Men's Club is, further down Av. BJ.

Massage!

As I mentioned earlier, a focus of this trip was exploring the massage scene. There are tons of places to get a massage in town, most on or near 5th Avenue. Typical prices $25-$35 US per hour. That's 1/2 to 1/3 of typical prices in the US. These places are out in the open and appear totally legit.

You can see a few of the ladies in the photos below. A few places had male masseuses, but 95% were female. Most were middle-aged and average looking. Some were younger and more attractive.

I was determined to sample a few attractive masseuses, see what kind of rapport I could develop, and where that might lead to. I wasn't just looking for a happy ending. I was looking to find the right chica to explore a therepeutic - sensual massage experience, and let it unfold naturally. Not knowing exactly where it might lead was part of the anticipation and enjoyment.

It was the perfect way to fill in the time between the beach, the restaurants, and the night time clubs.

The Massage Journey

From day one I started scouting the massage spots and getting a feel for each place. Every place gave a totally legit vibe. I tried about 5 different places and chicas. One was Marisol, sitting in the chair in the first photo above. A cute young chica, I took a 2 hour special for $40, good massage in private room, nothing sensual but I had no expectation of that for a first visit. She was 1 of 2 I put on my repeat list, not just because of her but because she had a private room, which was a must, but not all places have them. I did not end up repeating with her though, as I ended up focusing on the other chica, who I'll call "V".

V worked at one of the many places on 5th Avenue. She was Mexican, about 24 years old, brunette, short, attractive, natural C cup. Not a hottie, but certainly one of the more attractive masseuses I saw.

Day 2
My first massage with V was on the second full day of my trip. I took a one hour massage for $25. We went upstairs where there was an open area with several massage tables, and a private room with one massage table. We took the private room, closing the door. A very good massage, she had a professional demeanor throughout, nothing overtly sensual. However, one metric in legit-massage land is how far up the glutes and thighs the lady will massage, and V was generous in this area, while carefully avoiding inappropriate contact. V was a definate repeat. I gave a generous tip of $15 to grease the wheels for a return visit.

Day 5
I wasn't able to see V again until three days later. I took another 1 hour massage for $25. Went to the private room, and it was pretty much the same as the first time. However I was in perv mode this time, ready to see if things might go further. I can't remember if I took a Vitamin V beforehand, but I fully allowed nature to run its course (no effort to hide erections). The massages always started face down, then later turn over. V remained professional and kept me covered with a towel at all times. Still, when I had turned face up, her generous roaming of thighs and inner legs easily gave me a full erection that was obvious under the towel. Neither of us said anything, but I'm sure she knew I was enjoying it, especially when my hips or cock jerked involuntarily.
