I posted this message to the discussion section and a few people suggested I put it here where it will be more permanent. As always, YMMV ... and please remember that the information on specific clubs is very time-contingent. You should do your own searches, probably at www.canbest.com, in the future.

I'm going to speak to the question of what you can get in Montreal. I haven't been to Tijuana ever, so I know that other people here can be more accurate on that subject. But I have been to Montreal, used to live in Toronto, and most of the reportage in this thread isn't 100% accurate. I mean, people aren't lying, but I know the scene there better, and I can tell you, you CAN get what you want in Canada, whether in an anglophone or a francophone province.
The provider scene in Canada is mostly illegal. There is some misinformation on the 'net about the idea that "prostitution" is specifically legal while "soliciting" is illegal, but don't let it fool you. The rules are essentially the same as in the USA, different jurisdiction to jurisdiction to some extent, but basically not as loose as in Tijuana. So, calling a service bears the same risks. That having been said, it's a minimal risk. I hobbied for ten years in Canada and never had ... nor heard of ... a run-in with the police. I enjoyed street-girls, in-calls (the massage places nearly ALL offer full-service or at least BJ in the Toronto area), out-call escorts, and mongering in strip-clubs.
Calling an escort has the same advantages and disadvantages in Montreal (or, for that matter, in any major Canadian anglophone city such as Toronto or Vancouver) as it does in Los Angeles or New York. The big complaint in this thread here, seems to be that you can't "pick and choose" from among a crop of viable women like you can at Adelita's. Instead, with an escort, you must choose the woman sight-unseen. But since that's true for an out-call escort in any city in general, that comment bears little relation to the discussion of Montreal in specific.
There are locations outside Montreal that offer the opportunity to "pick and choose" in the manner that takes place at Adelita's, but those locations are probably unknown to most participants in this thread, AHA! Here's the meat of my message.
These locations are strip clubs in smaller towns, where the local police have been tolerant of extra-curricular activity to the point that the back-rooms of the strip clubs are essentially private brothel berths. These clubs have the advantages of allowing you to see the women, and see them dance (and dance well!) in a full strip-club format, and THEN you can choose which ones to visit for more personal attention. They have the disadvantage of working essentially outside the legal strictures, which means you're risking a little bit by soliciting in them. Raids do happen, but seldom. Also, the clubs around Montreal have the disadvantage of not having an attached hotel -- rather, you do your deed in the back-rooms of the strip club, or in the "Champagne" lounges or in a "VIP" cubicle. Each is different, but the amenities (or even the privacy!) won't be there like in a hotel. You'll just be crammed in a couch or off to the side of a chair, depending on which club you are in.
But the advantages, to me, often outweigh the disadvantages. There's a certain thrill to undertaking a risky and furtive activity. And further, disease and crime are both a much smaller risk in Canada than in Mexico. You'll find the Montreal women to be pale and plush and lithe and supple, and since you're picking from among dedicated strip-club dancers, you're not going to get half as many bad bodies and mistaken efforts on the part of the women.
Dealing with the language barrier is generally not a problem. Remember that any francophone antipathy toward anglophones is based in large part on the political situation regarding the status of the Province Quebec ("KEH-BEK," equally-stressing both syllables, and NOT "kwuh-BEK") among the rest of Canada. Just inform the women you're from the USA, and they won't (generally) be half as negative about you. Often francophone Canadians even view themselves as somehow in "cahoots" WITH American citizens against the moronic, dull, capitalistic, oppressive anglophone Canadian culture. I don't know where they got that idea -- probably because of the fact that out of the major export from Quebec, hydroelectric power, nearly 90% of it goes to American purchasers in New England. But it's a happy coincidence that you can use to your advantage.
Anyway, you have to find the clubs to know what's going on at them, and it's certainly not at the clubs inside the city of Montreal. I've been reading the threads at Canbest (http://www.canbest.com/) concerning several clubs outside the Montreal area about a half-hour's drive. Given that the scene always changes, and I haven't been back in two years, here are four that look promising nowadays:
1. the Hilltop Motel. in Vaudreuil Dorion. listed in Canbest in the section labelled "west of Montreal." (I think the path is, Reviews>Strip-Clubs>Quebec>Montreal>West-of-Montreal. Or some such.)
2. Club Grand Prix. in Richelieux. listed in Canbest in the section labelled "east of Montreal."
3. Bar l'Eclypse Club (the Eclipse). in Rigaud. listed in Canbest in the section labelled "west of Montreal."
4. and the best of the lot, Chez Diane. in Clarenceville. listed in Canbest in the section labelled "south of Montreal."
The current exchange rate between US and Cd dollars is very advantageous to Americans going North. Your buying power increases dramatically, not only because the prices are lower. For example, a standard lap-dance has been for about fifteen years Cd$20 per song, like in most strip clubs in the USA, but since the bank rate is approximately Cd$1.60:US$1, you're only paying about US$13. Full service from an out-call escort runs in the same numbers as in the US -- lowest-of-low runs about $150 per hour, up to an average of $250 or $300, to the "special" ladies who want $500. But since those numbers are Cd$, you get to EXCHANGE them before "feeling the hurt," so it's a great bargain.
Toronto used to have a single dedicated brothel-style strip-club, in the suburb of Richmond Hill -- which is a good forty-five minute drive to the North from downtown. This club, "Fantasia," still brings up for me heady memories of sitting and swilling a beer, or eleven beers and six shots of scotch, as tits were mashed in my face, and hands slipped their way into my crotch, and different skin colors and hair types and general bodily looks paraded across the poorly lighted stages and into my wallet. You could pick the women or let them pick you, and as far as I can tell it was as much of a free-for-all as has ever existed North of the Rio Grande in the New World, at least since the turn of the last century. All the women had strong twisty abs and tight asses and smooth tits and there was nearly an exactly 50/50 ratio of (nicely) enhanced hooters to natural. There were Russians and Ukrainians and Canadian anglophones and Canadian francophones and Americans and Dutch and Thai and Hmong and Filippina and Kenyans and Jamaicans and the prices tended around $100 or $150 for full service. Some of the lounges were more or less expensive, depending on which you chose, but some were no more than $20 for the whole night and ...
... and that's where I was "broken in" to the world of hobbying. Is it any wonder I've been searching ever since?
One final note. Money exchange places are easy to find, but the Canadian currency includes no $1 or $2 paper-bill money. The loonie and the two-nie coins have replaced those two bills. This means, you don't have much to TIP with if you want to tip a stage girl, since throwing coins around is a bit of a problem for a stripper who is up on stage collecting her money in a garter or something. So, it's sometimes wise to keep a wad of US$1's strictly for the purpose of tipping, but you won't be likely to get many of them at a Canadian bank. Stage-tipping with a US$1 might mark you as a "foreign" product in one of those clubs listed; so you want to be careful not to flaunt your outsider-status too much. Check what the locals are doing.
Anyway, the locals are safe. There aren't hand-guns, and the murder rate is extremely low relative to Mexico. It's a bunch of trade-offs. There's a cool show of Picasso's erotic art in Montreal right now. I wanted to get to see that ... looks like I'm going to have to miss it.

Thanks for the info Bookguy.I have held an interest in mongering in Canada but have never been.It seems it would be a nice summertime alternative to TJ.I live closer to Vancouver but have sensed from reading the Canadian boards that Montreal is the best city Canada has to offer for this hobby.Any good Hotel suggestions for those interested.Something semireasonable in price, located well, with a staff that doesn't get upset with several changes of girlfriends during a stay?

Taxibob - You won't have any troubles with hotels in Downtown Montreal. Downtown is the best place to be because all the escort agencies cover downtown. When it is busy like on Friday and Saturday night, forget about getting them to drive the girls too far from downtown. The major chain hotels in downtown runs about $120-200 Canadian dollars which is $80-145 depends on when you make the reservation. For more detail check Canbest. There are lower costs one also. You can look them up on the net.
I have been to Montreal, Vancouver, TJ, and Neuvo Loredo many times. And Montreal is by far the best deal. In general, I found that most of the ladies in Montreal are younger and better looking than the ladies in TJ. And the best experience in TJ is equal to a average service in Montreal. I have seen many ladies in both Montreal and TJ. The cost is lower than you would paid in TJ if you can believe that! The ladies will spend a whole hour in YOUR hotel room for $100 U.S. dollar. I was just in TJ Friday night. And the only reason TJ is close second in my book is because of two special ladies I met recently.
You won't regret your trip to Montreal. There are lots other activities to do in between.
