I recently got back from a 5 day trip to Sosua and I have prepared the following notes:

Objective:

My objective was to participate in our hobby and get some intel that will help me to decide if I want to retire in the DR. Mission accomplished.

Weather:

My stay was for 5 days with 2 days of rain on and off. Temperatures ranged between a high of 90 degrees during the day and 70 degrees at night with a cool breeze.

Hotel:

Hotel Voramar (CH Link) is in Playa Chiquita. When I arrived there was no taxi for airport transfer so I had to pay my own taxi. The owner Henk reimbursed me and paid for my taxi when I left also. The web site has beautiful women all over it leaving the impression that there are women on site like New Garden, guess what?...NOT! The only women here are the bartenders and housekeeping.
Hotel Voramar is no New Garden with the hermanos de Nueve York yelling loudly about the last nights conquest, everybody spoke German and no entiendo nada. Breakfast was buffet style fruit, sliced salami and bread every morning. They did have a restaurant but I did not eat there other than breakfast.
The room is spacious and clean but it did not have a refrigerator. I requested one and a mini fridge was placed in my room. The closet has a safe with a key lock. I had a very comfortable King Size bed. The air conditioner worked but it was a little lacking in cold air and I saw a little critter when I first moved in but I guess he found somewhere else to live.
As far as tranquility is concerned there is no comparison to the other hotels I have stayed at on the north coast. If you want to rest solo or wife up without all the "EXTRA" this is the spot. I walked to El Centro in about 25 minutes but it is a 5 minute moto ride.

My greatest impression was Henk's hospitality he did everything he could to make me feel at home.

Transportation:

Walking was easy during the day if you are in shape and don't mind the heat. I did not try walking at night so I cannot advise. There were motos stationed outside sometimes into the late evening. I used the motos stationed outside and I have a moto driver from another trip I would use late at night. At night I felt more comfortable with someone I had a previous relationship with. I always offered 50DP solo and 100DP cuando tuve una chica.

Restaurants:

There were a variety according to taste but I enjoyed Bailey's the most, great experience solo, con tus amigos o una chica. The crepes were good as recommended, especially crepes y helado very soothing on a hot day. A decent meal will run you 500DP. Rumba's has a small menu and so does D'Latin's.I enjoyed late night snacks at D Latin's while I watch the parade of chicas going to el bano.

Rumbas: (CH Link)

Outdoor bar venue where the chicas gather, traffic picks up at varying times during the afternoon. I noticed anxiety on the part of many chicas some would sit for an hour or so and if they didn't get any action they would move on. Rumbas has a laid back vibe in the afternoon and a club feel at night. Most nights traffic moves to D Latin'safter 11pm.

D Latin: (CH Link)

The major freelance pick up location for Sosua. Although it is an outdoor bar venue it gets very hot especially the closer you get inside. I recommend positioning yourself in the front for the breeze. I got a good breeze in the restaurant which is next to the bathroom. I was able to eat, watch and relax all at the same time. Traffic picks up after 11pm and the venue closes at 3am.

**It should be noted there are some chicas who prefer one venue over another. I have had them tell me they didn't like one or the other for a myriad of different reasons. Sosua is so small I think it's great that you don't have to worry about always seeing the same people in the same venues.

After One: (CH Link)

The late night disco next to the Coral Reef Casino. Ok after hours spot but it was a small venue where everything seemed to be red due to the lighting. The ladies who didn't get dates earlier will sometimes go to this venue for their final opportunity for being picked that night. I liked the venue because there are couches you can sit and chat with a chica available as well as a dance floor available for those who want to slide around on the dance floor.

La Playa:

Famous for its beautiful sunrises and sunsets, I didnot partake this trip but it is a spot to chill, have lunch and meet chicas.

Road map to success:

The beach during the day, Rumba's in the afternoon and early evening, D Latin's at night and After 1 after 3am. If you follow that path you should have some success, if not you need to take aserious look in the mirror!

Casas:

I visited Caribbean Men's Paradise CMP (CH Link) and Passions (CH Link) and received a chilly welcome at both locations. It should be noted I went in the late afternoon. It was reported to me the time to go was in the mid to late evening when most of the chicas were working.

Tarifas:

After my pre-trip research I decided I would stay between 1000-2000DP for ST. I prefer not to negotiate because it ruins the vibe for me as I do not like an overly business like interaction if it can be avoided. The majority of my chicas I gave 1500DP. I only paid 2k once to a chica I would give a high 8 low 9 who said she was a "cien chica"when I talked to her the following day.

I had two TLN's with chicas I was familiar with. I did not discuss tarifas with them because we both felt very comfortable with one another. I gave 2500DP to one and 2700DP to the other. Neither counted the money we departed with no questions asked.

I got no static in reference to tarifas it could be because this trip was low season or it could be just my turn to chill.

***It should be noted that if you do not know a chica ALWAYS negotiate the tarifa upfront to avoid any possible confusion.

In the future those good performers who I do not have to discuss price with me will become my regulars, sometimes familiarity does not bring contempt.

Dulce Secreto:

Cabana style aparthotel. You go inside the complex and there are a series of garage doors that lead to the individual rooms. You walk upstairs to a very comfortable room with a queen size bed towels, candy, soap and condoms. There is a 20 inch flat screen TV for your viewing pleasure. You pay the bill at a turn-style in the front door so in the entire transaction you don't have to see anyone. 590DP gets you 4 hours of room time which was decent considering how nice the rooms were.

Cambio:

I checked my bank before I made the trip they were giving 37-1 and the airport was giving 36-1. The change man across the street from Rumbas gave me 40-1. The Hotel Voramar had a change man come every day and he gave 41-1.

CezMon Real formally Universal Bar and Grill:

Formally Universal Bar and Grill. On my last trip I spend some time at the Universal Bar and grill the ambiance was incredible and the food was decent. The establishment is under new ownership and it doesn't have the same ambiance the furniture is cheaper and it is missing the big screen TV's that were there previously. The view was good with chicas walking by and I especially enjoyed the cool Sosua breeze from Pedro. I had the Hawaiian pizza it was no Pizza Hut or Dominoes but it hit the spot. This is a place to hang out or to have a GFE experience but it is not a chica spot.

TheSpot: (CH Link)

I watched the Miami Heat play the San Antonio Spurs great game there, The Spot has a sports bar feel and is a place to hang out with the brothers or maybe a GFE experience in the VIP in the back with your favorite chica. My understanding is the chicas hit The Spot on the weekends. Nice ambiance and hermosa bartenders.

Alternate Lifestyle Crew:

One of the reasons I like Latin America is because generally the relationship gender roles are traditional. As a rule a woman is feminine and a man is masculine this is part of the culture. While the norm is still true I saw quite a few gay men and a couple of transsexuals at D Latins. I guess there is something in Sosua for everybody.

Upcoming Trips:

The latter part of July I will visit Vera Cruz,Mexico and in September I will visit Cali, Colombia.

Overall this was a great trip, I had a few duds pero asi es la vida!

Thanks for the update buddy!

It has been a while since I was there...I got a bit burned out on it and sought greener pastures.

But some good finds there for sure, maybe is time to revisit.

Where is Dulce secreto located at?

Nice report!

Dulce Secreto runs off Dr. Alejo Martinez about a 5 minute moto ride from el centro Sosua. Ask any moto driver he will take you right to it.
