After arrival, on the right hand side of the exit of the airport door there is a cabin with a gentleman who writes down the cab you will take. Gave him the directions and what barrio was at (Bretaña). He gave a receipt which one copy you give to the driver and the other you keep. Has the fare price which you have to give (mine was 44,000) I left the airport and arrived 45 mins later to the apartments. The apartment is a studio, well furnished and has hot water and wi-fi included. They also have a small pool in the roof and sauna. The difference between the studio and one-two bedroom is that the studio has a fan only (fine for me).I asked the guest policy. "What policy??" Turns out they don't have one. You can bring multiple guests as long to keep it quiet at night. The walls are pretty thick so it with muffle the girls screams (Hoooray !!!). Got to go...will write my night time report soon.
Stay horny San Nicolas:
Since I came during a holiday at night it was very quiet. That and problems with my ATM (left my card from my main bank acct. at home) So I had to wing it and transferred over money my main bank acct to the secondary. For all newbies. Bring two ATM cards in the case one fails and make sure you can transfer money from each other. I headed to St. Nicolas area in Cali to check the whore bars and clubs. It turns out that area is very big VERY BIG. As for how the cab driver explains it, it is about 15x5 blocks where you can search for putas (that’s a lot compared to Zona Rosa in Bogota (3x2). Since most of the bars were closed and the putas where few (on holiday). I had to settle to two bars that were next to each other. Trust me, we (me and the cabbie) searched for good putas. I went in and there some 5-6 on the hot meter. Nothing good. Starting drinking and waited until my second drink (I was ready to leave) when a girl shows up that I like. Very cute small spinner girl (my type) and told her to come here. After settling down for a few mins., she ordered a pina colada (8,000 pesos). I had only 60,000 pesos on me plus 50,000 at home (again, because of the ATM problem, I had to wait for the rest of the transfer cleared). The girl asked where I was from? I told her I’m a sailor from Panama and the ship is on port on Buena Ventura. Never been on this side of the ocean but on the Atlantic side. So I only know Cartagena, Barranquilla and Santa Marta. She bought it. Funny thing all things done… During closing time, my girl asked for 50,000 pesos for the night. But since I didn’t have it ( and you know when you need that transfer of money to be cleared, it never does on time). I had to tell her I did not have the money. I came home empty handed but hopefully Tuesday will be good thanks to the recon the previous day.
