This is really more of an observation report, versus a trip report, on my recent trip to Puerto Plata, Sousa, and Cabarete.
I like the DR....not necessarily to monger, but even just to hang-out. It is close to Miami - no long flights and overall cheap., as well as fun.
I also like it as a place to bring my girlfriends....this particular one that stayed with me is a former puta from Brazil that married some guy up north, but I have always stayed in touch with (and of course met multiple times). It did not take much convincing for her to meet me in Miami for a long weekend in the DR. I found an all inclusive resort for around $120 for both of us and the trip was on.
I always rent a car so that I can travel between Puerto Plata, Sousa, and Cabarete with ease.
We went to Sousa and Cabarete each night. In Sousa there are two large bars that seem to have taken up most of the scene here. I did not pay attention to their names, but if you miss them then you probably need to buy a better pair of glasses since they are so dominant. They are right next to each other and PACKED full of girls.
The number of girls were staggering.....and at least for me, quite nice looking. Even my Brazilian girl commented that she was surprised at the number of good looking girls.
So, if you are planning a trip to Sousa - these two bars will certainly standout and will hold plenty of talent. Now quality in the sack I can't report on - I certainly had it with my own company and was quite pleased from that perspective.
In Cabarete, I also saw girls in the disco's on the beach side which get going a little later in the night. Absolutely nothing in quantity compared to Sousa, but they were there. I would say clusters of 5-10 here and there. Looks wise, Sousa certainly beat out Cabarete but then again not a fair comparison due to the sheer number of girls in Sousa.
As a side note, driving in the DR really is not all that difficult. Going back and forth between the three different cities really only involve one street. Just try to avoid collision with the occasional car or motorcycle without a rear light at night and it is quite easy.
I stayed at the Be Live Grand Marien in Puerto Plata - an all inclusive. Right outside is a nightclub and casino. There seemed to be plenty of working girls in there as well, even so I wonder how you would get them back to the resort if flying solo. Probably not possible....
Compared to all of the other mongering destinations, DR remains on the bottom due to my mixed experiences there - seems to be a 50/50 shot at getting a good one.
