Day 1: Darmstadt near Frankfurt - Sharks

I haven't had the best of luck with flights on my recent hobbying trips. I only had six days scheduled for this Germany trip, and the flight to the Dallas hub was canceled less than an hour before takeoff because of bad weather there. The GPS Sixt gave me wasn't very good, I had my first issues getting to Sharks (CH Link). It was supposed to be 15 minutes, but it ended up being almost half an hour with some bad directions the GPS gave me. Some unusually close road exits and GPS signal losses contributed to the problem as well, but I eventually got there around 10pm.

When I went, the road to the bridge for the "best" view of the castle was closed because of icy conditions, but people squeezed through the gate to anyways. If you visit in winter, bring shoes with good traction in case you want to do this. I wanted to go, but my shoes were far too slippery for the attempt.

Day 4: Munich - Relax

I did a lot of tourist stuff on Sunday. I started off shopping and taking photos in the Marienplatz which was all decked out with Christmas decor, souvenirs, and trinkets. I decided to pass on Dachau so I could get to Mainhatten before 5pm and save 15e on the cover.

The drive to Frankfurt went smoothly for most of the way. I ran into some traffic, but it didn't set me back too much. Since I skipped Dachau, I had plenty of time to stop by the hotel to drop my luggage off and make it to Mainhatten before 5pm. Check-in went smoothly and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes.
