I traveled to Tijuana on a recent weekend (Fri-Mon). In short, the trip was a success and my enthusiasm for the hobby in Tijuana is stronger than ever. While I had been on hiatus (separate post to follow) I only mongered in Europe and was not able to come to TJ. During this time things changed in the city and now five months into my newfound Tijuana adventures, I am finally learing the ropes.

Day 0 (getting prepared):
1) Set up google voice account, download talkatone app and log onto Verizon to forward all calls to new google voice mail account when the phone is not answered, than setup google voice to E-mail a transcript of all calls and voice mails to your E-mail.
While this sound complicated (and it is) it saves me from worrying about a Mexican message on the other end if I go out of airplane mode in Mexico, allows me to check for missed calls and allows me to make Wifi enabled calls to any number in the US from the hotel room.
The only challenge is to make calls with blocking your caller ID, which I have no figured out. BTW, the google voice app does NOT allow calls from Mexico.

2) For attached mongers, like myself, finding and building the right alibi for the time spent in TJ is important. This should be done with great caution and in my case cannot involve any other person. I cannot use buddies or coworkers as excuse as they all know my SO too well.
3) Get SENTRI card AND passport card to have two easily hidden documents to return back to the Promised Land. My alibi is tight, but wont hold until Tuesday Wednesday when the consulate may have issued temporary papers. In case of a mugging, I need to have a backup ID.
4) Designate mongering clothes to bring straight to the drycleaners after return to the smell will not trip me up.
5) Buy condoms, single use water based lube (3cc each), condoms (extra thin), travel size mouthwash, toothpaste and brush. (No floss, later more on that)
6) Disable iPhone tracking and recover iPhone to avoid be remotely monitored.
7) Arrange a few dates via Whatsapp or E-mail with AFT and escorts.

Day 1 (cuzar al el otro lado):
I drive down across the border from San Diego to Hotel Ticuan without getting insurance. I know this is against all recommendations, but I just never bother and driving in TJ is really not too bad as long as one stays sober. Last time I was pulled over after a couple of beers cost me $160.

Day 1 (settling in):

Day 2 (sabado):
