I returned to the hobby last year and forgot to post my impressions after the return. When I visited Tijuana late last year it was my first mongering trip south of the border in over 8 years and gosh did things change. Back in the early 2000s most of us had no smart phone, the escort services were in their infancy, I had never heard the term GFE and strippers gave HJ in the Penthouse while Chicago was the place to be on a Saturday night.
I will not reminisce about the old times, but focus on what I learned over the last 6 months since moving back to San Diego.
In the last 8 years or so, I mostly enjoyed the hobby on business trips to Europe. I have never been to South America and only once to BKK. When I compare my experiences in Tijuana today, it is in relationship to the scene in Moscow, London, the FKK’s in Germany and Brothels in Spain. And in essence going to Tijuana is like watching high school football (Friday Night Lights) after having season tickets for the Patriots.
The game is slower, the players fumble a lot, but they have their heart in it and are always ready to surprise you.

Girls with hearts:
On any given day you can find FKKs in Germany or brothels in Spain that have women that are so hot, so amazingly toned and perfect lays that it fulfills all your porno and penthouse letter fantasies. These girls, however, are absolute professionals. They will blow your mind, but once the clock strikes the hour, they are doing it all over with the next random stranger who pays in Euro. The girls in Tijuana, on the other hand, may be a little flabby, they don’t seem to enjoy the gym as much as I would like and 95% had children with markings to show. If, however, you as the customer play your cards well, the girls in Tijuana are much more accommodating than the professionals in Europe. They often do not watch the clock and even engage in “zona relationships” that are a mix of sad Cinderella fantasies on the girl’s part and the “other” relationship for us Northerners. I have had many sessions where I paid for one hour and spent 3-4 hours with the girl. This has never happened to me in Europe.

The new Zona:
The Zona Norte has changed in the last 8 years. It is now mainly one mega brothel (Hong Kong Bar) (CH Link) that is surrounded by smaller and decaying clubs with limited talent.
Hong Kong (HK) is possibly morphed into the most amazing brothel that I have ever seen. Last week I saw Asian tourists walk through in awe. Its strength maybe to the detriment of the Zona at large as most other bars, except for possibly Tropical Bar (CH Link), declined. At HK most girls Go Go dance (jiggle) on bars and other small stages until you or anyone else picks them up for fichas (drinks), VIP room (HJ/CBJ in booths) or half hour fuck sessions in the seedy hotel above the brothel ($80).
Adelitas (CH Link) has never recovered from the remodel that they started in the last days of my previous hobby run. Only the Chicago Club (CH Link) was hit harder. Las Chavelas (CH Link) and Bar Tropical all seem to belong to the same syndicate that runs HK and still offer those who speak Spanish and have the time and patients to pick up one of the adorable FOBs that arrive almost daily from somewhere in Mexico. They either harden and end up at HK or get spit out of the Zona within weeks.

The iPhone whore monger:
But the main difference is the escort scene. This is mostly thanks to the Internet and with WhatApp, Facebook and discrete E-mail services one does not need to worry about a Mexican cell phone anymore.

In the past I would often go to the phone booth places near the ZN to call an ATF and set up a date for the night. If she didn’t show (50% chance) I had no other recourse than hitting the ZN for talent that often did not replace my missed date. Now I am in a random hotel in TJ, look up what I like on sexytijuana or backpage etc (links below), order her to the room and if she does not show or not to my liking, text the scheduler (padrote) to bring me another girl.

Most of the services are reliable, as reliable as it goes in Mexico. My ratio of girls arriving on or close to time (within the Mexican hour) is 80-90%. The ratio of girls looking close to what is promised >90%. How the HK masterminds do not capture this is beyond me and probably will be soon. For now the escort scene is wild west and relatively consumer friendly. Bad reports on TER* hurt a girl and some even asked me to post if they felt the session went well.
I never do post as the circle is too small, there are too many details that the girl can figure out and discover the posters internet ID. I also do not rely on posts myself, but do what I always do in Europe and ask the padrote. After a while they know what the customers like and if one is open about the preferences they will try to meet them. Again, the internet with its potential to ruin a girl’s reputation after bad service seems to limit the abuses.

Limitations of the location:
The main problem with the Tijuana escort scene is that the talent level is not deep; there is very little influx of new talent. What self-respecting top talent escort would come to Tijuana, when she could travel to Spain, France or elsewhere internationally to make much more money?

In summary, I believe the ZN is less talent rich and the overwhelming force of HK seems to stamp out the competition. But the escort scene makes up for this, keeping Tijuana as a reliable and easy mongering destination for anyone living or visiting SoCal.

Thanks for this TJ briefing. I'm planning to visit TJ this summer for the first time for just 5 days and your report will really help me concentrate my efforts as 5 days is too short a time to fully dig up any location. I've mongered in SEA, Europe (FKKs) Colombia, Spain and the Caribbean, and Playa Del Carmen Mexico.

So why TJ? Frankly I'm an East Coaster who wants to know what all the fuss is about. I also want to hit a new destination where I believe I can get in, get laid, and get out with minimal hassles. I know HK isn't a bargain, but it's also not a fortune and it's great to know I can focus on one club primarily, saving lots of time and maybe throw in a few escorts too. Call it TJ 101. Any ideas on where to stay? I'd rather not cross the border every day if it's practical.

If you're on the east coast, you probably have been to Montreal and Europe. I recommend TJ mostly for proximity to where us west coasters live. I stay at Ticuan. It's not a dump and reasonably girl friendly. You still have to rent the 30 minutes rooms in the dumpy hotel near the clubs.
If you stay for a few days and speak some Spanish, clubs around HK are also promising.
