Camaro Synopsis Bonao October 2014

Gentleman I have just completed the Bonao segment of my most recent excursion throughout the Dominican Republic. This trip will include separate synopsis reports on Sosua, Bonao, Santiago and Puerto Plata.

The aforementioned reports will include anecdotes and my observations of the conditions and activities on the ground of each of the locations. This trip includes 2 days in Sosua, 2 days in Bonao, 1 day in Santiago and closes with 3 days in Sosua. There are also are some day trips to Puerto Plata from Sosua.

Below I have listed my notes for your review.

Camaro's Reporting

Those who follow my reports will notice a pattern to detail which not only comes from my profession but also comes from the fact that I am anal retentive, pensive and a cerebral personality. I realize some read my reports and say "it doesn't take all that!" or "he is over analyzing" and I understand the assessment, however I experience mongering the same way I experience the rest of life in my head. In fact to me sex is only the dessert that I would not enjoy apart from the interaction that takes place before and after. Foreplay for me includes eye contact, smiles, body language and the infamous interview.

I will continue my reporting style not just to benefit those who enjoy my reporting but my writing style is cathartic and permits me to experience my trips as many times as I re-read them, therefore I kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Bonao

Bonao is the capital of the Monsenor Nouel Province and is located in-between Santiago and Santo Domingo. There are several international companies that reside in Bonao that make for the basis of the city's economy.

Bonao is famous for its carnival along with La Vega and other mid-sized Dominican cities. The event occurs annually during the month of February. The festival includes colorful costumes parades and religious themes. The population reported to be approximately 150,000 people.

Bonao is a city in the country

I get back from the disco around 4 am and I get in bed about 5am and what do I hear...what do I hear? A rooster crowing every 30 seconds. That DAMN chicken is lucky I left my pistol back in the States!

Transportation from Sosua to Bonoa

On my other excursions I have walked to the Metro station from the other hotels but this trip I decided not to be tacano and take a taxi. He wanted 250DOP but I gave him 200DOP.

The Metro ticket to Santiago was 200DOP and I caught the cramped shuttle to Puerto Plata and the main bus to Santiago.

I arrive in Santiago and ask one taxista were the parada de las gua guas is and it is 50 feet away jut before you get to the Carribe Tours station. Another taxista tries to get pais and offers me a ride to Bonao for 2500DOP. I looked at him and said "pero la gua gua es 150pesos" he just smiled and started laughing. I guess I had GRINGO written on my forehead.

The gua gua is comfortable with air conditioning and not to cramped like some of the other gua gua rides I have had. I am listening to salsa and merengue cruising down the highway thinking "si a mi me gusta!" I left Santiago at 12:30pm and I arrived in Bonao at 2:00pm. I arrive at la parada de gua guas in Bonao and there are no taxis so I had someone call a taxi.

Aquarius Hotel Bar & Restaurant

There was a mix up with my reservation so I had to get a small room but it was comfortable and clean. I don't know what it is about Dominican toilets but a lot of them are running and wasting water . It happens quite frequently in different hotels I guess they don't have KOHLER in the Dominican Republic.

The air-conditioning works great and the WIFI is strong. The bed was only a twin I don't know how that's gonna work.

Aquarius Jacuzzi Room

Ms. Bonao gets off work arrives at the hotel and is upset because I am in the wrong room. She made the reservations in her name for a Jacuzzi Room which was excellent and 3 times the size of the regular room I was in. The room was very comfortable and I was glad to switch.
The Aquarius Hotel is on a busy street in Bonao therefore the street noise is annoying. In addition the hotel host a night club and the music goes on until the early hours of the morning.

Casa de Cambio

Agenta de Cambio Patricio Hierro is on Calle Duarte about 2 blocks from the Aquarius Hotel. I am glad I brough my passport because I needed I got 43.65DOP- 1US.

Miqulinea Panaderia

So I am walking back from the casa de cambio and I smell baked goods and all of a sudden I heard a voice saying "venga venga!" I decided to obey walked in and the smell of baked goods over took me. I got what looked like pinapple upside down cake with raisins which hit the spot.

El Buen Sazon

El Buen Sazon is a restaurant that is right around the corner from Hotel Aquarius. It is an open air restaurant that serves comida tipica. Ms. Bonao had the Mangu and I had pescado y ensalada.

Wendy's Disco / Balcony Bar & Grill

Wendy's Disco & Balcony Bar &Grill is located next to Parque Duarte which is the central park in the middle of town. Wendy's Disco is an indoor venue with a bar dance floor and balcony which overlooks the rest of the club.

Balcony Bar & Grill is outside and attached to the Wendy's building. It is an outdoor venue with a bar dance floor along with tables and chairs.
People go back and forth between both venues. Initially the Balcony was crowded and Wendy's was empty but as the night progressed and it got cooler outside everyone went inside Wendy's
The music alternated between salsa, reggetton and bachatta. Hookah smoking was quite prevalent and the entire vibe was festive and vibrant with people not only dancing on the dance floor but in the aisles.
The most interesting thing of the night was there were times when I felt like I was in Medellin. I saw quite a few blancas that looked exactly like Paisas in fact the vibe of the club felt kinda Colombian to me.
This was not a Classicos venue and I saw no one who even remotely appeared to be working. There were couples and a few singles and it was an overall good time.

Other Bonao Clubs of Significance

Below are listed some of the most famous clubs in Bonao any taxista will be able to take you to them. I was unable to sample them so I can make no recommendations.
• Coconut Club
• Club Terreza
• Club Aquarius

Los Lugares por las chicas

I came to Bonao as a part of my travel odyssey throughout the Dominican Republic. Tgunz made a personal introduction that should debut later in my report. Ms. Bonao is currently working and doesn't get off until later so we shall see. I am glad because I needed time to do my recon. I called a taxista and had him take me on a tour and he showed me the below listed venues:

In typical Dominican fashion Car Washes often serve as places to wash your car as well as bars and places where chicas are available for takeout.

• Privada Car Wash - Calle Don Pablo Duarte
There was a small bar with an open air setting and a few people sitting outside. It was a very bew and modern looking edifice.
• Otra Mundo Car Wash- Autopista Duarte
There was a bar and tables old looking edifice. Chicas were hanging outside giving me the eye as we drove by.
• Premium Car Wash- Calle Doce de Julio
There was a bar and a bunch of motos out front with a handful of people inside

The below listed venues are called "Drinks" open air bars where people socialize and some of the women are working I did not get any prices. Some had pool tables and others just had a bar along with tables and chairs.

• VIP Drink - Calle Fransico - Calle Panado
• La Matica Cafeteria *Drink - Autopista Nueva
• Freiduria Magdalena *Drink - Autopista Duarte
• Bani Super Fria *Drink- Calle Jaragua

I was advised there were other venues outside the city but I had seen enough. I viewed the venues from a distance but did not make any major inquires as I hope I have no need for PFP while I am here. The aforementioned venues are very Dominican with Dominican music motos in front and plenty of Dominicanos mingling with Dominicanas.

Cabanas

All of the below listed cabanas are within 5-10 minutes drive from the aforementioned sex venues.

• Hermes Aparta Hotel - Calle Duarte Vieja
• Hotel Bonao Inn - Calle Duarte Vieja
• Suite Las Palmas- Autopista Nueva

Parque Duarte / Parque Central

Bonao is the typical mid-sized Dominican city with a central park where people gather for social activities. On the weekend the park is crowded with children but on weekend nights it becomes the hub of social adult activity.

Ms. Bonao

Ms. Bonao was a personal introduction of Tgunz, she was a friend of his. We exchanged Facebook and numbers and communicated frequently before my arrival. She called me "mi negro bello" (Handsom Black Man...who me?) The most profound thing she did before I arrived was ask me how I wanted her to wear her hair...WHAT what?...wur dey doooo datt at? She also advised she wanted to cook for me ect so I went in excited. We started off with a bang but the story continues.

I had been texting her from my US phone but when I hit the ground I texted her from my DR phone. She didn't realize I was in the DR and when she asked where I was me being an ex-boy scout I was honest telling her I was in Sousa. Well guess what Brooklyn Beas admonition about not telling civilians about Sosua came to fruition. She flipped out blah blah blah and I had to go Hanzo on her and tell her I was only there to see friends and if she didn't want to see me I understood. Well guess what she said? "disculpe tu me llama si tu quieres cunado venga a bonao felize noche" Her tone changed and we were back on track.

Ms. Bonao part #2

Upon my arrival I had to wait for her to get off work because she is employed at a gasoline factory where she works 6 days a week 8 hours a day for 1500DOP. She arrives we hit it off switch rooms eat dinner and go to Club Wendy's
At Wendy's I discover she is 19 years old after she starts drinking acting immature which was later confirmed by her neglecting to inform me she was on her period when I arrived. We get back to the room and what does she do?...wait for it she crashes with her clothes on and is knocked out! To make matter worse she snooooooooores yeah that's how you spell it and that's how she sounded! She has worked all day and drank too DAMN much which equals exactly what happened.

Ms. Bonao part #3

In the morning I read her the riot act and this fiesty bossy Latina was so humble and contrite she was freaking me out. She held her head down like a little kid and gave me absolutely NO back talk simply saying "entiendo." We got on the subject of Sosua and she talked about her friends making bank trying to get her to go and she refuses. There was such a contrast between the night before and the morning. She started weeping abandoned by the father of her baby and working for 1500DOP a week but refuses to go to Sosua? WTF? REALLY? I respect the fact that she has integrity but I wish she was mature enough to tell me upon my arrival that she was on her period. From the mongering standpoint my experience sexually was a waste of time however it was good to meet someone who at least was trying to do the right thing.

I am humbled

The hard hearted I am sure could GOF but for those with basic sensibilities once you pull the covers off this thing of ours and witness firsthand the conditions that make what many of us enjoy possible you should be humbled.
As for me I live in a medium size single family dwelling by myself so to have a poor Dominican family share their rice chicken and salad with you when there is nothing else in their refrigerator can be quite sobering. Add to the fact you are eating in a 3 room concrete house with a concrete floor tin roof and no glass covering the windows. To have a half dozen people live in a dwelling that is the size of my living room gives me room for pause. My experience in Ms. Bonao's family home adds to my respect to those who live in these conditions but choose not to sell their bodies.

Bonao Closing Thoughts

I'd like to share the following thoughts on my brief time in Bonao:

• Bonao is the typical Dominican small town with plenty of passolas and jeeptahs crowding the streets. Of course traffic is hectic like most urban centers in the Dominican Republic
• Bonao is not really a tourist town however there is plenty for the single traveler to do from regular clubs to different sex venues.
• I did run into some people who spoke English but they were the exception to the rule. If you come to Bonao it would be a good idea to have some basic Spanish so you won't feel too lost.
• Of course there were many beautiful women out at night I even saw some blancas that looked more like Medellin Paisas than Dominicanas.
• My anecdotal experience from the mongering standpoint was a bust but it was good to meet someone who wasn't trying to hustle me. She was just too immature for what I had to offer.
• As far as a retirement destination I am still leaning heavily to the north coast because the transportation and ex-pat network is greater than a place like Bonao.

If you have an adventurous spirit and basic Spanish and enjoy life and culture in the Dominican Republic I would encourage you to try Bonao and see for yourself.

Conclusion:

Despite my monger failing there was much to learn from this trip. I repeated my mantra "todas las mujeres no son igual" and I see that fact every trip. I am convinced that many mongers with bad attitudes about this thing of ours have those attitudes because their experiences are not diverse. Is sex important to us, claro que si but for me sex is just the dessert and there is so much more to experience in this thing of ours.

My next trip will be the second week in November where I will explore Mao and Esperanza I will keep you posted.
