Camaro in Puerto Plata Synopsis December 2014

I have just completed the Puerto Plata portion of my most recent excursion into the Dominican Republic. In my past trips I have done several date excursions into Puerto Plata from Sosua, but this is the first time I have spent the weekend in the city. This report will contain my observations from previous trips as well as this current trip.
This synopsis will be a companion to my Sosua and Santiago reports. This trip included 9 days in Sosua 2 days in Puerto Plata and 3 days in Santiago. I will do a report detailing my experiences in the other 2 destinations. Below I have listed my observations of Puerto Plata for your review.

Puerto Plata

The Province of Puerto Plata is reported to have approximately ½ million people and the city is reported to have over 200,000. Previously, when I have thought of Puerto Plata I have thought of it in terms of Blackbeards, Field of Dreams or the Airport but the area is much more diverse than I had imagined.
During my internet dating searches I would reach out for women who posted they lived in Puerto Plata and when speaking with them I would find many actually lived in Puerto Plata province in places like Imbert or Montellano.
In short Puerto Plata is a thriving area and it is not possible to experience its diversity in 2 days.

Transportation

Travel between Sosua is very easy, there are gua guas for less than 50 pesos, carro publicos are 60 pesos, Carribe Tours is 35 pesos however Metro does not have a Puerto Plata fare you have to pay the Santiago fare of 200 pesos.
Although Metro is the most expensive it was the best option for me leaving Sosua because it was more comfortable and the Parada de Metro was within walking distance of the Malecon. The Parada de Carribe Tours was much further from the Malecon closer to down town Puerto Plata.

Aparta-Hotel Lomar -Avenida. Malecon #8, Puerto Plata

Apart –Hotel Lomar is a very dated 2 star hotel on the Malecon in Puerto Plata. It does not have a web site so you can neither book nor pay on line. I had someone on the ground check for me and they advised that I needed a deposit to book a room for the weekend…CONYO! WTF? How am I supposed to book with a deposit if I can’t do it on line? When I got to Sosua I did a day run to Puerto Plata made my reservation and left a deposit.
The room was a decent size but everything in it was dated but it would suffice for 2 days. Since it was on the Malecon it was anything but peaceful because of the traffic the noise was terrible, however the balcony provided a decent view of the Malecon and the beach. The air conditioner was ok and the WIFI worked well although it was pretty slow.
There was no safe and the hotel is chica friendly she just has to leave her cedula at the front desk. The power went out briefly but was shortly thereafter restored.

Towel ration

***My major complaint besides the noise was the hotel only provides 2 towels a day so if you have multiple sessions with different chicas you are sucking wind trying to explain to #2 or 3 why you have no clean towels. After cleaning my room they took my towels and I was without towels for 4 hours until they cleaned them. I am really not feeling the towel ration.
Some people complain about Victorian House but they provide plenty of fresh towels daily. A face towel, wash towel and large body towel for 2 people.

Playa del Caracol

There is a beach right in front of the hotel on the north side of the Malecon. You can hear the waves crashing both day and night.

La Sirena – Western Union

La Sirena was a 10 minute walk from the hotel. I walked there to get some refreshments for the room.

Western Union is inside La Sirena and they are currently giving 44.05DOP-1US. The cashier tried to give me a bunch of 2000pesos notes and I asked her “puede dame billetes mas pequeno porfavor?” so she starts folding the 2000peso notes into smaller pieces of paper and starts cracking up laughing and I said “chistosa!” and all the cashiers started laughing. She later gave me some 1000peso notes. That was the most fun I have ever had at Western Union.

La- Sirena- Cafeteria

IMHO one of the best things about La Sirena is the cafeteria. There are food stations for almost anything you can imagine to include, pastas, meats, fish, salads and desserts. Whatever you order is weighed at the cashier when you check out. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I got way too much food and got stuffed.

The cafeteria is on the second floor of La Sirena and you can look over the store on one side or you can look outside at the parking lot on the other side.

The Malecon- Avenida Malecon

The Malecon is the major road that runs east and west on the north side of Puerto Plata parallel with the beach. It is a social center where people hang out especially on Sunday nights where the street is lined with motos and vehicles blasting their music in typical Dominican style.

La Parada de Metro is within walking distance of the Malecon and La Sirena. There are apartments that face the beach and different restaurants and bars along the Malecon also. After my stay in Apart Hotel Lormar I would not want to live in any of the apartments on the Malecon because the noise is absolutely ridiculous and it would be difficult to have any peace.

Restaurants

I have been doing date excursions with civilian non pros that live in the Puerto Plata area. I would leave from Sosua and meet them in Puerto Plata. We would do the typical date type activities talk and have dinner with the intention of planting the seed for future conquest as none of these women were pros who would be having sex on the first date.

There are a plethora of restaurants in Puerto Plata below I have listed those I have been to:

• Las Palmas-Calle Luis Inebra

Open air good service laid back atmosphere close to downtown.

• Las Almendras-Avenida Malecon

Open air across the street from the Malecon good service.

• Village Café-Calle 16 Agosto
Right around the corner from Metro the best service with 2 waiters I have experienced in the Dominican Republic. There is a 2 man band singing American standards each time I have gone. ***This by far has been the best overall dining experience I have had in the Dominican Republic.

Diez y Seis Clubs (Calle 16)

This is a major social gathering area in Puerto Plata. There are motos everywhere food carts and people hanging in the street.

• Chalo – Buchanans

There is 200 peso cover charge on some nights. There is no dance floor just tables chairs and a bar. People dance in the isles to a mix of Latin music between Bachata and Reggeton.
This is primarily a civilian spot but I did see some of Sosua’s finest there. Some were obviously working as they gave me the “come hither look” and there was another who I am assuming was off because I did everything I could but speak to get her to acknowledge me but I guess she didn’t want any drama on her home turf.

• D Charley Bar

D Charley had no cover charge and table’s chairs and a bar like Chalo but it was a lot more laid back with people just sitting around drinking and talking.

Other Puerto Plata Clubs

• Pure

Pure is next door to the Casino and had a 200 pesos cover charge on the night I visited after which you are given a 150 peso drink ticket. It was previously closed but has now been re-opened. It is a small venue with 2 VIP sections an up & downstairs but it doesn’t look like it could accommodate more than 200 people comfortably.
This was no Classicos as I saw plenty of couples and the ratio of men to women was about 50/50. Some of the women were obviously working as they would give you “the look” but it was not always easy to tell looking superficially who was civilian and who was in the game. Once again I saw some of Sosua’s finest there on the hunt in a different venue.

*** The ride from Apart Hotel Lormar to Pure is about 5 minutes which should be a 200peso taxi fare. My taxsita charged me 350pesos. Upon leaving I asked the taxisita outside how much he wanted to take me back to the hotel and he said $10.00 which is over 400 pesos so I walked away from him and called the other taxisita and he stood there looking stupid.

• Club 46

Club 46 is in Playa Dorado. There was no cover the night I went but there were male & female dancers and midget dancer which was quite comical. There was a small dance floor with 2 levels and a bar, stage and raised DJ booth. Outside there was a patio and chairs.
Like the other clubs there were some women who were obviously working you could tell by the look you were given. It seems as if the pros look hard and the non pros ignore you.

Crystals Night Club

Crystals is the premier strip club-brothel in Puerto Plata. There was no cover and it appeared to be the inside of a cave as I walked in. There was a bar stage with stripper pole and ladies sitting in different places all over the club. It reminded me of the La Romana and Punta Cana high end strip clubs.
For the most part the girls were 8’s and they surround you trying to make the sale. It was very tempting and difficult not only to choose but to break the circle as they all surrounded you like “pick me!” The prices were $100.00ST in house and $150.00 take out. If I was going o pull the trigger I think the $150.00 would be a better deal but ii decided to pass.

Ms. Puerto Plata

I met MPP on Dominican Cupid over a year ago and we had 2 dates in that time with no conquest. She was hard to read acting like she liked me but other times acting very distant so I aborted and called next.
This trip since I was going to spend time in Puerto Plata I decided to try again. I made clear to her that this time I wanted “una relacion adulta” and she responded “entiendo.” We were supposed to meet in Sosua for dinner but she advised me she was on her period, when I didn’t hear anything else I wrote her off again.
When I arrived at Apart Hotel Lomar she said she was on her way and I was quite surprised. Upon arrival we had a total GFE experience with kissing and caressing and it was very unrushed. Nothing about this woman was professional; in fact she was very shy and did not come across as very sexually experienced. We were supposed to meet the following day but nothing came of it so I shifted gears ready to move on to the next.

Final observations

• This report barley scratches the surface of what Puerto Plata has to offer. As previously stated the area is vast and has many layers that need to be peeled back one layer at a time.
• One of my biggest lessons on this trip was the realization that there is a big difference between San Felipe de Puerto Plata (the city) and the Province of Puerto Plata. It would take multiple excursions to see and experience the entirety of Puerto Plata.

Conclusion:

Since I will be living in the area I will be visiting Puerto Plata frequently, there is more than enough fruit to keep me eating for a long time to come. I will keep you posted about my upcoming Puerto Plata activities.
