I'm including this in it's own category as it 1) deserves it and 2) it doesn't fit neatly into any other category. Perhaps ABC Restaurant could be here as well, but I don't care for it nearly as much and thus don't frequent it.
Lewis G. resto is revamping it's entire menu and rolling it out early Feb. It is a part of a major upgrade of their dining staff and product, a large investment on their part. I and some selected local guests (mostly Filipino interestingly enough) were invited to preview the new offerings, offer a critique, and suggestions where applicable one night last week.
There was about 85 guests in total and it was a wonderful dining experience. 20+ courses, open bar, etc. Service was impeccable. Food was absolutely first world delicious, and the setting of course was charming (except for the DJ they hired for the event).
I'll be joining them for their Valentines Day Dinner and will be taking a close look at the final menu and will update accordingly. Let's just say, if you are looking for a fine dining experience or there's a special occasion, I cannot think of a better place to have dinner in AC. Well worth the $$$ in IMHO.
The courses:
1. Pepper crusted ahi tuna salad: very fresh, tender, the peppercorn accent great combo.
2. Spice rubbed shrimp salad: delicious in every way.
3. Jerk chicken salad. Hard to go wrong with jerk chicken, crowd pleaser.
4. Spicy ahi tuna bruschetta: marvelous. Far, far, far better "spicy tuna" than what Niji calls spicy tuna IMHO.
5. Beer steamed mussels: I don't eat mussels, but my gf loved them.
7. Baked brie: didn't try.
8. Steak panzanella skewers: didn't last long at the table.
9. Oyster cerviche: I don't eat oysters, but my gf liked this one very, very much. It was her first time trying oysters and she loved this one after the first bite and she's not very adventurous when it comes to food.
10. Baked oyster. Didn't try
11. Blue cheese oyster: If you like blue cheese, you'll like this.
12. Crispy salmon: combination of the mashed potato, spinach, and salmon works well.
13. Pan seared Lapu lapu: simple, refined and one of my favorites. Depends on it you like subtle (I do) vs reach out and grab your taste buds for attention.
14. Beef Wellington. Beef cooked to perfection and of the highest quality.
The house merlot was a superb pairing for the meal and quite good for a house wine.
Here are some pics from the dinner and samplers of the various courses:

That sounds promising. I'm staying there now and the food has been horrible! Sorry the new offerings haven't yet arrived.

Sorry to hear than Bwana! I would recommend talking about issues with James (the GM with the whitish hair). I believe the new menu should be out within a week.

Just for the record, I ate every dish except where noted (oysters). As I usually do, if I review a restaurant, I try as much of a variety of the dishes including meat.

Just watch your billing when you go to check out of the hotel, they tried to charge me for an extra day along with a few minor charges that I did not make.
About 1 month after I had returned home I got an email from them asking for more money, saying that they had made a billing mistake.

Good advice RG, pretty much anytime one goes to a bar, hotel, restaurant, etc here I would highly advise they check their bill carefully before and after they total it up.

Bwana, haven't heard back from you. I mentioned your feedback to the restaurant manager and he wanted to reach out to you directly. If you could, please shoot me some contact info.

I had the same problem at checkout. I had paid a 1 night deposit, and confirmed the deposit at check-in, but when I checked out, they claimed they had no record of the deposit. Fortunately, I had a copy of their deposit confirmation and the credit card receipt.

A word of caution re Lewis Grand/The Avenue dining. Whilst this was a wonderful event and food delicious, I've seen enough complaints from fellow people about service issues that likely still need to be addressed and could greatly affect one's experience. I've not had the misfortune of experiencing it firsthand, but it warrants a YMMV. If anyone runs into an issue with the food or service, I would highly recommend requesting to speak with James (the restaurant manager) - he'll make it right if it's within his powers.
