There's a couple very good restaurant bars that offer up largely "pub food" as well as a good bar atmosphere.
My choice near Fields, Rob's Gastropub (formerly Cuba Cuba by Pacific Breeze). This is a western style sports pub with a full western menu ranging from chicken wings and nachos to imported steaks. The beer selection is excellent and has a few offerings from the UK, US, and Europe. Prices are a little high, but not otherworldly in terms of the quality of the setting. Large screen TC around the bar as well make it an excellent sports viewing venue.
In Perimeter, my choice is Charlies on the Bend (right near the BPI in Friendship). It has two floors with the lower floor the traditional restaurant seating and the second floor the bar setting (able to eat here as well) with some nice outdoor seating. The food here is excellent; I've sampled the cheeseburger, fish and chips, chicken burger, nachos, beef caldereta, and chicken wings here. All were very good and reasonable priced considering the quality and quality. Best fish and chips I've had in the PI is here IMHO. I normally wouldn't touch what nearly all places call fish and chips with their shitty ass oil and crappy dory for the mush fish. TVs are smallish, so not really a sports venue, but a friendly pub, great good, and good service. Saturdays are their BBQ day and they offer a great value for good quality meats. The owner and manager take a very hands on approach and if there's ever and issue, they will sort it out, no questions asked. Charlies offers a 10% PIAT discount off food and drinks as well.

Beating a dead horse, but how does a vegetarian comment on meat dishes?

My analogy of the day -- if my favorite Portland NBA fan in TJ and I were sitting around discussing our favorite condoms... Where's the credibility?

I don't mind meat at all, just prefer to eat mostly veggies/fruit for health aspects. I worked in a butcher shop for several years at a teen and worked in a fairly high end italian resto and steak house in Boston as a youngster for a while. my gf is a carnivore and I have her sample a wide variety of dishes at new places and we share plates most of the time.
No steaks here don't compare to anything in the mid-upper tier in the USA, but for under 1k pesos, there's decent choices to satisfy one's fix. For me, the higher priced offerings here don't offer the quality to justify the prices.
For those looking for a safer choice and better value, pork chops are usually pretty good if they aren't over cooked/dry. Puzzles and the VFW are ok choices and usually good, but it's a bit of the dice roll if they overcook them or not. The average for a 2 pork chop plate is around 350.
