So where don't I recommend (that people often frequent)?
#1. Salvatores. Place has become an armpit of an eatery. Sal must be rolling in his grave.
#2. Margarita Sta. Does so many dishes, yet nearly all are average at best. Decent place to play pool or toss back a beer, but that' sit.
#3 Kokomoz - as with M.S, does a wide array of dishes. Unfortunately they are average at best and overpriced. Service generally sucks. Yes, great people watching place, but that's it. Why subject your gut to this place when there's other choices?
#4. Phoenix Hotel. Okay for breakfast, but the meals and service here leave a lot to be desired. never order the steak here - it is cardboard made from local cows overcooked for about 10 minutes.
#5. Paizano's Pizzeria - used to be decent when located on Fields, but since moved to Hensenville and sold to a Filipino owner. Gone way downhill and offerings at Tony Js (delivery) or Grand Central far, far, exceed this place now.
#6. Phillies - Not terrible, but not very good either and for that pleasure, you pay a premium. Evenings this place it loud and find it a terrible venue to watch a sporting event too. Paradise beer Garden is close as well, but slightly better as it has a much nicer layout, bar, and viewing area at least.
