It's been a while since I've been to Swiss Chalet, so i thought I would update my opinion. Back a few years ago, I felt it was overpriced for the product, thus why the absence.
Sampled two dinners - the Beef Tenderloin (w/ back pepper sauce on the side) and the Chicken Curry (Indian version). Beef tenderloin was a decent size serving and thick for 650p and the chicken curry was 350p. Each comes with 1 side (rice, fries, veggies, etc).
The tenderlion was ordered medium and cooking was spot on. Tasty and pretty tender from Australia. In terms of relative comparisons it ranks up there, not as tasty and tender as the steak at Ginger cafe but solid value for the quality, and better than anywhere else I've sampled the steak at that price point (2nd place).
The chicken curry was order spicy and white it's wasn't what I would call spicy, the curry sauce was very good. They didn't offer a vegetable curry on the menu and I didn't feel like paying 350p for a few veggies in curry sauce so I ordered the chicken. better than what I tried at Phoenix (Steve's curry) and on par with the curry at Grand Central Cafe (Gotham), but better value here as the serving size is better, Gotham is becoming inconsistent with cooking/service and at the same price point.
Decent wine selection and service was excellent.
Downside Salad bar was pretty sad looking for 100+p for 1 dish, little dark inside for my tastes, and AC was a little cold for my tastes.

Pork tenderloin dishes trump beef.
