This won't be an extensive report. I'll try to offer a few updates where I notice something that's changed, and provide a few pics for your entertainment.

Balcony Bar, pictured below, is gone. Closed for good, Kaput. It's boarded up, the outdoor area is gone, and there are no signs anymore. The owner has called it quits after battling with the forces of prudery that now stomp out any public displays of licentiousness. He's also closed his apartment rental business (rioapartmentrental.com) and I'm told he's leaving Brazil for greener pastures.



So is there anything going on along Agenda Atlântica to replace Help and Balcony? Short answer: No. Long answer: some say that there's a gathering of putas at Mabs restaurant (a block or so from Balcony, in the direction of Av. Princess Isabel), but I took a look the other night and it seemed that the only "talent" there represents the lowest tier of ex-Balcony girls, and that's fucking frightening.



For me, I only miss having good spots to catch up with other mongers. There's no more Alcazar or Terraço Atlântico, and nothing has replaced those spots.

The internet has changed everything: I meet girls on FB who then introduce me to girlfriends who want to earn a little money. I meet girls on Tinder who are either looking for some cash or are just looking to get laid by someone who won't complicate their lives. There are sites galore with independents who have basically killed off the agencies because they can market their wares on the web or via FB, Tinder or WhatsApp and not have to turn over 50% of the money to an agency.
