There's rarely much new to add when writing about a well-traveled location such as BKK. The bars in the entertainment plazas come and go, the girls in the bars come and go, but the song remains the same.

I would mainly like to reinforce Murasaki's observations on the state of the go go bars. Nana is generally weak and Cowboy is awful. The asking price for ST keeps rising as the quality of services declines. Many girls decline LT, and from talking to other guys (I'm a ST guy), LT almost never means more than a couple of hours. The girls always find an excuse to leave early.

I was disappointed with all of my bar girls. Only one provided what I would consider acceptable sex (an extended bbbj and a variety of positions) but even she bolted after one pop despite our having agreed to two hours in the bar. Suffice it to say, she didn't earn a tip.

A few freelancers were a bit better, but not much, and all wanted a minimum of 3000 ST.

My best times were all had at oily/teen massage places along Soi 22-24-26. I can't say I found any stunners in the massage places, but at least they fucked me thoroughly.

I did have the pleasure of meeting a couple of board members. I think we were all agreed on the general decline of the quality of the girls and the sex in BKK.

I enjoy other aspects of the city (food, shopping, tourism), but it's really disappointing what has happened to mongering.

I despise Pattaya with a passion (shithole), and Phuket gets old after about 24 hours. I'd always counted on BKK, but no longer.

I couldn't agree more that the scene here is utter dog shit. I can only define the action here as "fuck meat" Get the poison out and be done. Thank god there are some amazing food options here.

Even my first visit to BKK many years back I wasn't overly impressed with Nana Plaza or Cowboy. Not that it hasn't gone downhill but it's always been a pricey option with a limited number dancer's who are for the most part older and jaded. It's always been a hustle and looks as though they've come up with even more creative scams to drain the bahts from your pocket. For me I always found much better action with freelancers at hotel or eatery parking lots in and around Sukhumvit especially later in the evening. Not sure how Pattaya is a shithole especially when compared to Nana Plaza or Cowboy. I can't count how many times I've visited those clubs and never saw a gal I would BF. If as the consensus seems to be that it's really gone downhill then it won't be on my radar anytime soon, if ever again. Besides the massive amount of international visitors Pattaya has far more gals and options than any other part of LOS I've witnessed. Now, if you want to talk about a SHITHOLE then AC has to be at the top of the heap but at least prices are lower and the gals are friendlier.

Dood, it was great seeing you again. Sorry we couldn't explore more restaurants. Sad to say, the food was way better than the pussy. But that's one reason why I prefer BKK over Pattaya. The food options are world class in BKK and flat-out suck in Pattaya.

Popcorn, I agree. AC is the ultimate shit hole. It has so little going for it I just won't go back. But I feel Pattaya is only a few notches better than AC. The food is lousy in Pattaya. The beach is polluted, the streets are crowded, the bars are overrun by drunks who seem to be spoiling for a fight on Walking Street, and the hotels are overpriced and showing their age.

Pattaya is one great shithole. Top of my list when I go. But lets face it. I'm not looking for brunch at the four seasons or poolside in Miami. It's one laid back perfect shithole.
No traffic and just soi after soi of pussy. Also the nightlife goes until 8am.

BKK is a great city but I stay 90% of my week in Sukhumvit. Too many regular tourist with family etc.

End of the day...everyone will be back in Thailand after spending a few months back in the states.

I totally agree. It's no longer my primary focus either. Restaurants, the hotel/apartment, just getting away from the grind are all huge factors for me. That's why I really like Phuket. There's some really good restaurants, life is laid back and it's easy to unwind. Jakarta was fun because it's new. And I loved the hotel (Gran Melia). I'm happy to unwind and stay in the club room or the suite. Having a girl is a nice bonus, but sometimes it's not worth the hassle. . .

I cant see Pattaya being any worse than BKK which near Nana is a shithole. Pattaya is a lot nicer than it was say 10 years ago. Too nice actually as they are catering to families now.

And you like Angeles City, which is 10 times the shithole than any place anywhere in Thailand.

One other thing in how I've "evolved". When I first started, the last thing I wanted was to meet up with guys during a trip. My time was always limited and my focus was the girls.

But over the years I met some really great guys from this board and really enjoy their company. Two have even visited me in Malaysia and would have full run of my house if they so desired.

On my last trip to Jakarta, a big part of the enjoyment was hanging out with a board member. He even moved hotels to be in the same one as me.

Everyone has their own style as to what makes them happy. Just go with the flow. . .

And it was my pleasure to hang out with Wallstreet for a few days in Jakarta. And even though the mongering is not his primary focus anymore, I must tip my hat to him for his companion I met, as she looked quite lovely from where I stood. :-)

I've always divided my travel time between mongering and "fossil hunting," as I do have many intellectual interests beyond a good shag. But when I am mongering, I do enjoy the company of great guys. I've seen Wallstreet three times in little over a year in three different countries. I've seen Xenono four times in about the same span of time, also in three countries. I even got a good 4 or 5 days hanging with Don Marco in Bangkok a few years back, before he disappeared into the monogamous jungles of Angeles City.

Exactly! I'm in a bit of a travel impasse this year as I prepare for some career changes, but this board (among others) makes me look forward to my soon to come lifestyle of increased travel.

i think it is safe to say that all places tend to get worse over time. it is just the sad truth. you've got to adjust. the amsterdam RLD is history, the fantastic club riviera in barcelona is closed, the freelancers in HK hike rates and get uglier by the day, etc.. etc.. it is no surprise that phuket, pattaya and bkk are going down the same path.

i remember phuket actually had an upswing in quality a couple years after the tsunami. they put in underground sewers and sidewalks. and the freelancers were out in full force, prices for girls actually went down. it was great.

i posted here many years ago about the golden age of HK. right after SARS. you could get great hotel rooms for $100/nt. the wanchai triad bars were bypassed by nightclubs with tons of stunning freelancers from many countries.

but those are rare examples of periods of upswings and/or improvements. what i do know is i meet alot of people in bkk and they are having alot of fun. i met a guy the other night from new jersey. he is 75 years old and has been doing 6 months in bkk a year for the last 30 yrs. he is still enjoying it !!!!

It is amazing what a financial crisis will do. I flew into Bangkok one or two days after the airport opened after the big occupation and shutdown back in 2008. The bars were empty and Nana girls were taking 1500 short time. It was awesome!

Nope...I've booked several trips to Brazil. I'm done with Thailand and the Philippines. I may be back to Jakarta, but that's it for Asia. When the Asian girls learn to fuck and suck like brasilieras, we'll talk.

I just came back from Pattaya ... this was my 7th trip to L.O.S. ( Pattaya )...... I agree with a couple of points made from fellow mongers....However I did find Pattaya full of BEAUTIFUL THAI LADIES....
I agree that its getting crowded , and prices have went up , but one can still bargain and get good service and price at the same time..
I LOVE PATTAYA ! I would go back in a heartbeatnd over, over again ..
there is so much beautiful THAI PUSSY AVAILABLE that I feel I would be cursed if I say otherwise.....
this was my most expensive trip to Pattaya , because I had more money to spend and did spend it wisely .
regarding food in Pattaya , there are so many options and restaurants available that it would be a diservice to say otherwise !

Landscape has changed in Thailand over the past 20 yrs....

As i got older the charm of doing the 3-5 ST per day is gone... the fun of having a LT girl is gone... I used to enjoy going to the clubs and picking up of office girls in RCA but that too is old... Even the Uni girl hooks ups dont get me as excited as i used to be...

For me... i love the travel and meeting interesting people and characters. Its still what you make it...
