Today I got up @ 07:50.
Couldn't help but notice that the wind, with the waves had taken out almost ALL of the beach areas.
So I booked a facial in the spa at the Santa Clara Hotel for later in the week.
Then located this joint called "Diving Planet".
Went at 09:35 for a 2-1/2 walk along the beaches most of which were MT.
Bought a T-shirt and some postcards.
Checked out rubies both loose and set, in 3 separate stores.
As my knee was acting up, took a taxi back for 6K.
During my 4th Cuba Libra, having sent out a few text messages back home, I realized how much better I liked this location than any of my previous 5 trips.
I went for another walk in the afternoon.
Tried to find this great pizza joint, but couldn't.
Scored 4 bags of coffee beans instead and paid 127.6K.
It was so fuckin' hot now! But I wanted to punish myself, and walked ALL the way back again.
An hour later, I took a taxi to find "I Balconi". It was fuckin' Closed today.
Walked around some more and found some really hi-end villas available in this part of town. Real nice.
Then discovered one of my faves from yesteryear "La Casa de Socorro".
It was packed. Ordered "camarones al a vinagretta", colitas de langoustinos, coconut rice and then first one and then a 2nd delicious margarita.
Really yummy! Damage was 107K.
Slipped my buddy, the waiter who remembered me, a 20.
Walked a little more to the main drag, picking up some 8 year old "Ron de Medellin" for 50K.
Took a taxi back, noting that traffic was still shit all over town, as the beach road, Carrera 1, was partially closed due to the beach sand build-up. They actually had to bring in bulldozers!
Relaxed, with no alcohol and napped until 9:55 pm.
Those walks had done a number on my right knee.
