First trip to Colombia. This report is from late 2015.

So I finally did Medellin. I had heard and read the buzz over the years. I had even met several paisas in other countries, with good to great looks and service. Going to the source had been on my short list for some time, but I was too pre-occupied with other destinations to fit it in. I finally pulled the trigger. So did Medellin live up to the hype? Perhaps. I would not hesitate to put it in my top 10. I would pause on my top 5 though. It is definitely a unique place and economical, especially with the exchange rate lately.

The current exchange is has increased its appeal for sure...I was ready to move on but will hang out a bit longer...

Arrival in MDE

When I exited the baggage area, a woman handed me a glossy flyer for "Traslado en Helicoptero". The price is 150.000 and leaves every half hour between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM. It's a 10 minute flight. Sounded cool but I opted for a taxi @ 60.000. Gave the driver a 10.000 tip so total 70.000 or $25 US. Ride to Poblado was just under an hour I think.

Checked in at Hotel San Fernando Plaza. Very nice hotel, with a pool and spa on site as well. I tried the spa once, nothing special or sensual. Although I only stayed a couple nights and never had a guest, here is the hotel's guest policy. If you book a room for two people, you can register one (1) guest with no charge, and that guest can continue to visit at no charge. You don't have to provide the guest information when booking. Just sign her in at the front desk first visit. But any additional guests beyond the first will have a charge, $30 each I think. Note that it is unavoidable to walk right past the front desk when coming in.





It's a tall hotel with good views from the upper floors. In the last photo above you have the hotel on the left, and a bank-complex on the right. In fact there is a series of big bank buildings with a hidden food/shopping area behind them right next to Hotel San Fernando Plaza. The main eating area is a food court, but there are a couple restaurants too. I guess it mainly serves the people working in the banks. So if you go to the end of this food/shopping area closest to the hotel, you'll see a little square food place on it's own, with tables and chairs around. Right next to this is a place called "Suri Cambios". This is the place to go to exchange Euros. There are exchange places around Parque Lleras, but I couldn't find one that changed Euros. Only this place Suri Cambios next to Hotel San Fernando Plaza. I had a pile of Euros from a trip to Spain that I wanted to exchange for COP.

Parque Lleras

Since I read about it a million times, of course I checked it out. I wasn't impressed or disappointed - it was about what I expected. Parque Lleras is certainly a convenient spot to hang out and/or kill time in Poblado. I stopped in most evenings for at least a bit, sometimes having dinner here. Most of the time I'd take a taxi to the clubs later in the evening.

Mostly a younger crowd at PL. More men than women, but plenty of attractive paisas out in couples or with their friends. There were usually a few working girls around, mainly on Calle 9a near Carrera 40. Some were attractive. I got some glances but never chatted them up.

In the last photo below is Club Gusto, also on Calle 9a near Carrera 40. You go through a security pat then take the elevator to the top floor. I liked this place. It was clearly one of the few (if only) places around the park to meet working chicas. It's a large spacious bar with a dance area. Cool place. Loud music but not too loud. First time here I met a Swiss guy and we hung out. Not too packed about 10 guys and 7 chicas. I waved over one chica and we chatted a bit and I got her #. Awhile later, this very attractive chica I'd been watching for awhile came over to me. She looked like a 30 year old version of Selena Gomez. Guess she didn't want to chat much because she soon pulled me onto the dance floor. So I danced with her for about 5 minutes. Then back to the bar and we chat. She's with her friend BTW. She brings up business soon and I think she wanted 300.000. I tell her I'm not really interested tonight. She's disappointed but it was too business-like too quick. If she had taken it slower and been warmer I would have been tempted. She asks me to pay the drink tab for her and her friend... 58.000 ! I decline and soon head out with the Swiss guy to Fase II. Pretty sure Selena Gomez and her friend were pissed! Too bad. Another night I stopped in and it was much slower. So Gusto is not always loaded with chicas, but it's worth a look if you're at Parque Lleras. After 10-11pm is best. At a minimum you can have a beer and check out the hot bartenders before heading out to other clubs.

Incall Place at Parque LLeras

I tried one of the websites with photos of chicas. Paula looked hot and her ad said "Parque Lleras". So I called the number (320 258 0674) and made an appointment. It really is in PL, right around the corner from Gusto. On Carrera 40 near Calle 9a, near a restaurant called Los Verdes. It's a narrow building called Hotel Lleras. I walked in past the small reception, they didn't stop me or say anything. Walk up to the first floor. It's a white door about 10 o-clock (forward-left) if you face the same direction as when you walk into the hotel.

Paula really was the chica in the photos. A hot young 24YO from Valencia, Venezuela. Nice. She led me into a private bedroom. The place is bare bones, not quite a dump but just OK. Paula was sweet and friendly and gorgeous with great D cups. Not quite GFE or PSE but good. I paid 130.000. Would have repeated if I had time. Looks like she is still working under a different name and number (Karina/Isabella 310 877 54 72).

According to Paula and her friend who was also there, there are always chicas working in this apartment. That might be why I wasn't questioned when I walked in the building. You could probably just walk up to the apartment and knock without calling. Outcall options are 250000 or 500000/3h. Incall is the best value and also convenient.

Damn! If she's the one in the pics and it was 130K you did quite well! Most people here including me would think this is a scam and you get locked into a session with someone who wasn't in the photo. Way to take a chance!

I do remember being at Hooters in Parque Lleras a while ago in the day and we just saw all these hotties coming down the street in groups every few minutes or so and going into what looked like a parking garage across the street. I was saying, there must be a low key casa back there that business men can visit discretely. What else explains all these chicas?

It was her... one of the hottest I met all week. She'd be popular in the nightclubs but she probably makes more money in this place. I agree I was lucky, definitely could have been a bait and switch but I had to give it a try. The 130.000 might have been for less than one hour I don't recall.

Fase II

I read about this place a million times too, so of course I checked it out. It is centrally located which I didn't expect. That made it a good option to start the post-dinner clubbing festivities before branching out to other clubs. Or a prime destination in it's own right.

I went 6X. Here's the breakdown:
1 incall good time
1 outcall disaster
1 couldn't agree on price
3 just had a beer

On my first visit I was amazed to see about a dozen men dressed in green military uniforms with rifles! It was surreal. 10000 entry, beers are 17000 and I bought a chica a drink which cost 22000. Steady stream of dancers on stage and about 20 other chicas sitting around the place and available. Quality was good, but not exceptional. I met Daniela, dirty blond hair, golden tan, slim hardbody with fake Cs. She was nice and friendly and gave me a generous amount of grinding and touching for 20-30 minutes while we drank and chatted. Took her next door to the "South Beach Hostel" for 45 minutes for 180000. Good time. After we were done, she asked for a tip. I declined and she asked why. I said she was good but not great. She instantly turned off and actually ignored me the couple times I saw her on future visits. Adding to my total was 20000 for tips, mostly the 2000 tips you give to dancers when they walk around after their set.

Second visit I just hung out. Chatted up a cute brunette but didn't pull. On my third visit I saw her again and bought her a drink. Her name was Jenni/Jennifer. She wasn't as touchy feely as the first girl, but she had a fresh innocence about her that I thought bode well. I decided to spring for take out which cost 180000 for the club and 200000 for her. When we got back to my apartment in Poblado, she wanted the money up front and I complied because I've rarely had a bad experience. This turned out to be one of those rare times. She wasn't cold, but she had a lot of rules. She had great natural C/D cups but she wouldn't let me tittyfuck her without a condom. I kicked her out after 10 minutes. What a waste.

Another visit, after being largely ignored for quite awhile, this gorgeous hottie caught my glance and came over. Early twenties, fresh look, white skin, D cups. A 9 for me. I bought her a drink and we had a pleasant enough chat. Then discussed business. I don't remember the details but I know I offered her a good deal. For each hour incall at 180.000 I think the girls get 120.000. So two hours would be 240.000 for the girl. I think I offered 300.000 for two hours that would have been all hers. But she was firm, the price for 2 hours outcall was higher. I couldn't go along with her terms and declined. In two seconds she had left and was chatting with her friends 10 feet away like I didn't exist. LOL

Another visit I chatted with a girl who was very friendly. After 2 minutes she asked if I would buy her a drink and I said sure. Once the drink arrived, she switched off and just looked around while drinking her drink. Used! The other visits I didn't even bother dealing with the attitudes. I just had a beer then grabbed a cab out front to La Isla.

Verdict: The chicas at Fase II run a cartel! Play under their terms or don't play.

I'm not surprised to see this review of Fase II. My experiences there have been mixed and mostly positive. There sure are a lot of hot chicas there and if it's a lively night it's a fun atmosphere, but Disney world style pricing and extra requests for drinks and tips. Bring your own condoms to avoid having to buy one for 5K pesos.

Personally I wouldn't have paid a take out fee equal to the price of an in house session, unless I already had an awesome in house session. Even then I'd try to have her meet me at my place for about 200K, maybe, since she gets to keep it all.

My two cents on Medellin strip clubs: They can be very good and they can be very poor depending on the current state of affairs, so visit them all. Whichever one is doing best IYO opinion, just go there for the rest of the trip.

I think that is the first time I have seen anyone that has put Costa Rica in their top 5 destinations and never above Medellin. Shit the Colombian women in CR are about 20 years older than getting them at the source in Medellin.

I agree with Big Poppa. 1st session with the chica on-site to see how and if you get along with her. If that goes well, invite her to your place in the afternoon before she goes to work. I've done this successfully at both Fase II and la Isla. Most are happy with 150k pesos for an hour or two.

Just kindly say no when they ask for tips. They're hoping you're weak and you'll give in. I look at it as my monger duty to say no.

Good info. Afternoon hookups are a definite option. But I also usually want action in the 10pm - 2am timeframe before I go to sleep. Being my first time I didn't have any contacts so I relied on the clubs. I did two other take-outs to my apartment and they went great.

BTW.... Facebook was a total FAIL on this trip. Nothing nada zero. I couldn't plug in to the supposedly vast universe of FB chicas I had read about in Medellin. I didn't try super hard though and didn't care too much either. I did get friended by two chicas including a well-known hottie named Angie Montoya. But couldn't hook up. Anyone here see Angie?

No surprise about facebook being a dead end. I think facebook could be good if you lived in Medellin and have plenty of time to recover from all the flops. Others have said that you have to make contact before your trip and build a rapport. That may be true, but I suspect any chick who builds a rapport is going to try to monopolize your time and money and be hard to shake once you arrive.

Facebook really serves the girls more as they can bullshit everyone until they find an offer that's appealing and go visit that one guy. If you're not known to the girl, she's likely to be hesitant to blindly go to some random guy's apartment. Over on monger network stories abound about facebook girls wasting huge amounts of time and demanding stupid money. After all if you waited all day for a girl to show up, you're probably not going to break a date for 50K more. Going to casas and strip clubs on vacation give you the advantage as there's a pool of talent instantly available and you can repeat outside once you think you've got a good one.

Another FB angle one could try to work is through the club chicas. Chat them up and bring up FB and get an idea if they are plugged in or not. Tell them you're looking for "dates" where you can take a chica out for dinner and drinks with lots of action before and after and maybe all night. And that you'll pay well. If she hooks you up and vouches for you it could be another source of options.

Yeah, but mostly I think facebook is bullshit. Mongering on facebook is a bit like shopping for fruits and vegetables online. If you can't see, smell and feel the goods, you don't know what's what. You can't judge personality online and looks are only the beginning. TMFW, absolutely.

This was my second favorite club. By far the best spot for young fresh talent. Most appeared to be in the 18-25 range, with a few 25-30. Choose carefully though, some girls may have limited experience and be focused on the $, and there is a definite clique-mentality here.

From Poblado it's about a $4 US taxi ride. About 5min farther than Fase II but closer than Energy.

First visit I don't recall a cover. It was a Tuesday. Room was medium size with a bar, small stage, pool table and seating in various areas. About 8 chicas and one other guy. Not a happening place but still some good chica options. Lights were too bright to relax and hang out for long. Maybe I was early? I bought a drink for 20.000. After awhile I bought a 20.000 drink for a chica named Camilla. Blond/brunette, slim hardbody, fake Ds, fairly hot. A little bit of acting on her part but her hotness compensated. I figured why not and took her to one of the on-site hotel rooms behind the club for 140.000. I think it was for less than an hour. Room was nice with a bed, couch, TV, separate bathroom with shower. Service was average. I was satisfied but would not repeat with her. Hung out a little more and had a 5.000 water and chatted with another very pretty chica a few minutes. Gave the waiter/guard a 10.000 tip for good will on my way out. All told I spent about $65 US.

Second visit was the next day Wednesday. I arrived almost the same time as another taxi. It was another solo guy and we went in together. This time there was a cover- I think it was 51.000 per table which included 3 drinks. But you could share a table. So it was good I had someone to share the table. Even better, the guy insisted to pay the 51.000 so I paid nothing and got a free beer. He was a foreigner but spends a fair amount of time in MDE. This time it was a different part of the club with a longer stage, more seating and lower lights. Much better strip club atmosphere than the night before. About 15 chicas and 10 guys. Took awhile to check the scene. Definitely a few I was interested in, including the dark-haired beauty I had briefly chatted with last night. She really tried to get me. But she was just a bit too business like, and I got distracted by a hot brunette across the club. She was dancing at a table with some guys, but when she walked by later I gave her a clear look of interest. Luckily, she finished with the guys about 10 minutes later then came over to me. Her name was Manuela. Hot bod, fake Ds, average face but very warm and friendly. I knew I found my chica for the night. Bought her a drink, hung out and chatted. Had my hands on her body while she sat on my lap. Took her out for 2 hours. Cost was 100.000 salida for the club, 250.000 for Manuela. Gave the waiter/guard 10.000 again and he was happy. Took a taxi back to my place but first stopped in a nearby bar. After drinks we walked over to my apartment and took our time over two rounds. Good service with BBBJ. Overall I was very satisifed with my night with Manuela and gave her a 50.000 tip. Got her phone number and FB info. Total expenses tonight about $150 US.

Tips on Getting to La Isla (The Girls)

1. Taxis. About 10.000 from Poblado. It's up a hill on Las Palmas and seems out of the way so make sure the driver knows where he's going. The taxi drivers in front of Fase II will know for sure.

2. Security Checks. On every trip up the hill to the club, we passed police security checks. On one trip my taxi got stopped and I was searched. I had to get out of the taxi and empty all my pockets, and answer a few questions. There were a couple police guys near me. One kept poking my pant pockets to make sure every item was removed. So the last item I was hoping he wouldn't see was my Vitamin V. He smiled and almost laughed when I pulled it out. But it wasn't a problem. Oddly, they did not ask me for ID. I guess they are focused on drugs. I had nothing. They did not search inside the taxi. So if you have something to keep private, you may want to consider locating a spot in the back of the taxi, in case you get pulled over. After the search was over I was a little pissed. I politely told them, hey guys come on you would never be treated like this in the US. I think they understood how I felt, but they just shrugged their shoulders and said "This is Colombia".

La Isla (The Girls)

I don't know what the official name of this club is. But it's the best club in town. I went 4X.

First time was after the security check episode above. I was still pissed when the taxi dropped me off. I vented about the police search to some guys who were just about to go in, and ended up joining them and we ordered a bottle of aguardiente. First time I enjoyed this, and the setting could not have been better. Compared with Fase II, I found La Isla to be a little bigger, much nicer, similar quantity of chicas but a notch higher quality (just a notch though). La Isla has comfy chairs and couches which makes it a great place to chill. About 20 chicas and 20 guys. Waiter service was top-notch. Took a chica named Brenda for 300.000 which included on-site room and chica for 1 hour. Excellent time. When we were done it was near 2am and the club was closing, the guys and chicas were filtering out. It was clear to me that many, if not most chicas had not had a customer (except for drinks) during the approx. 2.5 hours I was there. This was a Monday. Other costs included 10.000(entry), 40.000 (my contribution to the aguardiente) and 30.000(chica drink). Total expenses tonight about 380.000 or $130.

Second visit was Thursday. Around midnight there were about 80 guys and 60 girls. Hung out and bought a drink for a chica. I let her go after awhile and then bought a drink for another chica. Her name was Maira. About 25, black hair, white skin, slim, natural B cups. Very cool chica. Took her for a session for 300.000. She got high beforehand and invited me to partake but I declined. Session was average... she just wanted to fuck but I wanted to do other things. She obliged but was only half into it. She would have been a great fuck though. If you want to get stoned and bang a hot petite light-skinned paisa into oblivion this would be your chica.

Third visit was Friday. Hooked up with this cute/hot brunette named Megane. Attractive face and great natural C cups. I think she was 18. She was alone and friendly when I first passed her doing a walk-around. Awhile later I went back and invited her to sit with me. We chatted briefly and I took her for an hour for 300.000. I didn't even buy any drinks for myself or her. In the room she rocked my world with a long edging session at my request. I came hard. Hot girl and hot time.

Fourth visit was Saturday. I came back for Megane. At first I couldn't find her. I asked the waiter and a couple minutes later he walked over with her. He earned the 20.000 tip I gave him. Megane was real happy to see me. I decided on TLN and offered her 500.000 which she immediately accepted. I knew it might be high but it was my last night and I wanted to seal the deal. Salida for the club was 180.000. Once again I did not buy any drinks. Total for the night was 710.000. Excellent unrushed night with Megane back at my apartment.

Other Fun Places

Energy Spa. Went here one afternoon. 10.000 taxi from Poblado. Was greeted by a woman who brought me into a reception room and invited me to sit down. Had a lineup of about 12 chicas. One at a time they came in to introduce themselves, opening their small uniforms so I could check them out in bra and panties. Nice! I knew to expect this from my research, and it was fun. Most chicas looked good and smiled. Range 7-8.5. You really need a pen and paper to keep track. I managed to remember two names and called them back. Picked a slim black haired cutie named Valerie. Price was 130.000 I think for one hour. Valerie walked me up to a room and I showered first then lay down on the futon. Decent massage on my back, then I turned over and she was open to whatever. Opted for more sensual massage with BBBJ for a tip (50.000). Excellent service. Got her phone number just in case. Never called her or went back, both of which I would have if I had been in town longer.

San Diego Club. I almost forgot about this place. Toward the end of my trip I was in Parque Poblado one evening and saw this truck drive by slowly with a billboard for the place. Went on my last night in town. Taxi driver had a terrible time finding the place. Arrived around 10pm and paid 10.000 entry. I knew it was early but I was heading to La Isla later. Smallest club of them all. There were about 3 guys and 5 girls. Half hour later 7 guys and 10 girls. Took a chica Tania for 2 private lap dances @ 40.000 each just to see what it was. Good grinding and lots of two-way feeling but nothing more. It was upstairs but not totally private. She wanted me to go for a room but I declined. When we came downstairs I sat down and looked around and spotted a new chica I had not seen before. She was incredible. Slim brunette with DDs and a beautiful face. Went over to chat her up and learned her name was something like Cimena. From out of town... maybe Barranquilla. Super friendly and gorgeous. Hottest chick of the entire trip. But alas I had run out of time. It was my last night and I was set on a TLN with Megane at La Isla. Tough choices in Medellin.

Just Looking

Lindas Chicas. Very sketchy place. Large padlocked metal gate at the front door. Might not have ventured in had I not heard good things. Huge interior with antique furniture and an eerie silence and sense of abandonment. Tough older woman running the place. She was nice enough but had a mafia vibe. First time I went in the afternoon. Was let in and there was just one chica. I said I'd come back another time. Did return another night and again let in the gate. Sat at the small bar at the back and had a drink. Saw a hot young cutie just leaving with some guy. He got the best one. I was the only customer left and three other chicas introduced themselves. But they were average quality. Older woman mentioned she had access to many girls, just tell her what I want. I didn't want to risk disappointment or wait around a long time so I soon left. Did not get pricing. Seems like a spot for hunting gems.





Zandalay. Another place in Centro within walking distance of LC. No sign just a small gated door. Up stairs to second floor. Not a big place. Sat at the small bar where other chicas were hanging out. They were casually friendly but there was no formal lineup or introductions. This was mid-afternoon. Had a coke and chatted briefly with the bartender and one girl. Total of about 7 girls, range 6.5-8. I was more in curious mode than action mode and did not partake. Seemed like a decent place with low prices. While more expensive I would vastly prefer Energy over Zandalay.

I'm a little late reading this thread, busy preparing my own belated MDE trip report.

To answer your question from March 24, I was with Angie Montoya, whom I later friended on FaceBook without realizing I had already been with her. Her FB photos are glamour shots. But she has an incredible body.

She was one of the best performers of my trips, incredibly skilled for an 18-yo. Coincidentally, I later found out that she was also Chica of the Month on a local board. Reportedly, she got pissed that her picture had been published because the guy who was paying her to stop work on his behalf might see it

I had a good experience with FB girls. I met maybe a dozen around the pool at the Mansion, two of whom I had already friended. Although I didn’t get around to calling 4 of the 5 whose phone numbers I had requested from home (one of whom also sent me her rates!), the fifth provided an excellent experience (even though she was late--babysitter problems, she said). There was a spinner from FB I wanted, I just texted her to come over, she did. Cute as her pics, decent enough (not great) experience. I asked another on chat where she worked, she said the Mansion. I saw Cristina Arb at the Mansion several different times with different guys, they said she was a repeat. She was actually the first MDE chica I friended, which started the whole cascade.

So my experience with FB is different that what BigPoppa reports. I think I could just text half of my 100+ MDE FB friends that I haven't already met to come on over, and they would deliver. You can kind of tell by their photos. The sexy and/or semi-nude poses are a tip-off, they're good marketers.

Hunterman, I have never used facebook to arrange a session. To be clear, what I wrote is only my opinion on facebook and how I think it probably tips the game in the chica's favor. I'm glad to see it seems to come in handy for you and I'll have to give it a chance one day. You make a good point about the sexy pics being a clear sign that they'll at least have sex with you for money. I still will always prefer the live experience of chatting up chicas in person in order to judge who I think I'd prefer.

Daytime Massage

One disappointment of my trip was my inability to locate massage places that are mainly legit and provide a professional massage, but where they push the limits with some teasing and maybe HE. For daytime diversion I sometimes like massage places that operate in the gray area just beyond legit.

I tried 3 daytime massage places. Azkara Spa near Parque Lleras was 90.000/h. Vellisimo in Mall Santa Fe was 85.000/h. And Viva Spa Poblado across the street from Mall Santa Fe was less expensive I think, forgot to note the price. No lineup at these places, just one chica I was assigned to and 100% legit. Had to wear some cheap underwear garment at Vellisimo. Chicas were between 25-35 I'd say. Nice looking but not hot. I didn't initiate or suggest anything and the chicas didn't give any sign or opening either. Still got a good massage each time. Tipped around 20-30.000.

One afternoon I returned to my apartment and there were two masajistas in uniforms waiting at the front entrance with their massage tables. They were in their 20s, good looking but professional in their appearance and conduct. I was immediately intrigued. They were waiting to get let in for an appointment at another apartment in my building. I'm thinking shit I can get this home delivery ? I chatted with one of them. Got her number.... 3012985422 Lina masajes. This might be her personal #. Upon further chatting she gave me a website (first link below) and told me the rates are 80000/h or 100000/h domicilio. It's a spa in the basement of Art Hotel right near Parque Lleras. Very convenient. This place and their outcall service might be just what I was looking for. Misc Notes

I found casa New Life, though it was not the easiest place to find. Went in twice. Both times there were a few guys hanging out in the seats and booths, and everytime a new guy came in the chicas would come out for introductions one at a time. You could just hang out and drink. No pressure. Quality was mostly 7-7.5. Maybe one or two 8s who got taken. It was not quite enough to tempt me, and I feared the rooms would be bleak. I'd go back in the hope of finding a gem.

After Zandalay above I walked around Centro and came across a couple of other low budget places: Ejecutivo and Maracaibo. I would call these cheap bars not nightclubs. Minimum consumption at Ejecutivo was 7000. It was daytime so there were just a few chicas around. You could hang out and drink.

Also stopped in La Conjenitas one afternoon. Large space and a bit more of a club feel. There were 4-5 chicas, quality not bad. My drink was 4000 and I bought a drink for a chica for 6000. Just chatted. Again I feared the rooms would be bleak. For a bit more $ you could go to Energy for daytime fun with better quality, selection and ambience.

Vitamin V and cell phone chips were cheap in Medellin and did not require ID at the cheap "Mom n Pop" type places I went near Parque Poblado.

I once tried a "Tipico Antiquo" Colombian dinner at Mondongo´s near PL. Paid 40.000. I didn't like it and stuck to normal food otherwise.

The Metro system is modern and inexpensive. But taxis were far more convenient and worth the extra cost (about $3 to $5 US per trip).

Final Thoughts

Medellin was very good. But it did not quite meet my high expectations. I would say I over-thought this trip a little, in part due to all the unavoidable buzz I had read over the years. It was more planned and less spontaneous. The prices and chica selection were great. The chica quality was excellent too, though for my tastes I would choose a hot Tica or Porteña over a hot Paisa. The biggest limiting factor was the city itself. There was a barrier to letting my guard down and walking around relaxed. There also seemed to be limited things to do and enjoyable places to hang out by oneself. Part of this may be due to it being a first visit. I'll be back, and I suspect I will be more comfortable and know my way around better, which might give Medellin a better shot at my top 5.

You are right about your second trip likely being more chill...that is the way it was for me. Of course, me being able to blend and speaking fluent spanish makes things easier.

I agree there is a dearth of places where you can chill on your own and relax...it really is too bad...

One place is the Jardin Botanico...there is a nice restaurant there...you can go there and walk around and look at the plants and the iguanas...sit and read and have a drink and a nice lunch and then go monger

I often go to read and have a drink at Parque Periodista....and people watch...young ones getting buzzed, smoking yerba or snorting local product...a human mosaic...I sit there in one of the little bars and read and drink a couple...I have made a couple of connections there with some chicas as well...

One diversion when you are there is to go to the pueblitos...you can go on a day tour with a company or just rent a car...really not hard to drive around there but get the GPS.

Very nice report.

I rarely "appreciate" a city after one visit. The second time is usually a much better indicator. That's why people go to the same place over and over. They want a known quantity.

I lived in Medellin. There was plenty to do alone to keep me occupied. Rent a car. Guatape, Penol, Santa Fe de Antioquia are nice day trips. Great golfing if you like that.

I can't remember the name, but there was a private swimming club just in Poblado - a great place to spend the day. And no tourists.

That's one of the reasons I got soured on Medellin. Way too many tourists. That's when I moved to ***** .

Sorry - not going to make that mistake again. Going to leave ***** unspoiled.

I just checked out "your" website for Angie Montoya. She's a different chica than the one I was with, whose FB page is readily accessible.

I had my doubts it was the same chica, but thought maybe the photographer had done some phenomenal makeover. Thanks for confirming.
