In February I took a trip to the island of Saint Martin in the Caribbean. The small island is composed of two separate countries, so if you're keeping count of countries visited, this is an easy two for one. For hobbyists, you'll be spending most of your time on the Southern/Dutch side which is called Sint Maarteen, primarily around the city of Philipsburg. All of the hobbyist venues are located on the Dutch side. Although there's probably some P4P on the French side if you look hard enough (escorts ads), it's not easy to find.

The airport you fly in will be Princess Juliana International on the Dutch side, airport code SXM. English is widely spoken in both countries. The Dutch side has US outlets and voltage, but if you plan on spending any nights on the French side, you'll want to bring adaptors and a voltage convertor if needed.

Taxis and buses are available to get around, but the former are expensive and the latter can be inconvenient and hard to figure out. Most people will highly recommend renting a car. I was a little skeptical on the car rental because of many problems I read online of rental companies charging for damage that the renter didn't cause. Even though many of the accounts were at least a few years old, I was still concerned. I ended up going with Sixt because of good experiences I've had with them in Germany. Although the car I received had a fair amount of cosmetic damage on the outside, I ultimately had no problems with the rental.

I like to stay in hostels to save money, and ended up staying in the only two hostels that I could find on the the hostels.com hostelworld.com websites: The Crew House and Vicky's Keys. The Crew House has since been removed from both sites and their web page brings up a page in Chinese or some other language, so it looks like Vicky's Keys may be the only hostel available now.

Sint Maarteen isn't really a place you should go to primarily for P4P, but it's readily available and enjoyable as long as your expectations aren't too high.

Day One

Passing through customs was a breeze. I didn't have any checked luggage, so I made it out of the airport very quickly.

My first two days were booked at The Crew House. At the time, the hostel had decent reviews and was very conveniently located about a 5 minute walk from the airport and right next door to the Sixt rental location. I didn't schedule my rental in advance (although I would recommend it) so this made the most sense to me. I didn't have a lot of luggage, so it was easy to walk from the airport. I was a little taken aback by a $100 deposit they wanted for the room (unusually high for hostels) but didn't have much of a choice but to pay it. I got it back at the end, though. The lady that checked me in also told me there were no security lockers when I asked. That was going to be a problem, but when I walked into the room, there were lockers there. The staff didn't really seem to be well informed. Parking was also an issue as the place was located in the same lot as a ferry terminal, and it was already small. Mosquitos were also a problem being so close to the water. On the plus side, it was next to the airport and ferry, and they had a decent bar with strong drinks. There was also a small restaurant in the lot, although I didn't eat there at all during my stay.

After checking in, I ended up making my reservation with Sixt for the next 5 days. The price was 200 euros.

Back at the hostel, I got a free drink for my stay and headed out to survey the tourist area just to the northwest of the airport with a strong buzz. It was a significant walk, probably at least 15 minutes, but I could have gotten one of the $1 buses if I wanted. This area, off Rhine Road, had the closest market, some restaurants, a casino, some bars, and an assortment of other shops. Platinum Strip Club was also located here, but I'll cover that on a later day.

After a stop at the market, some shops, and the nearby beach, I headed back to the hostel for some rest. Around 9pm, I headed to my first venue visit, Bada Bing. I took a bus to Simpson Bay for $1. From the stretch of the long road coming from the airport, it was easy to spot Bada Bing's bright lights, so it was very easy to find. I got out on Airport Road near Sr. Patientia Road, the small road where the club is located. Upon arrival, I discovered the club wasn't opening until 10pm, so I walked around the area. I found a strip club called Red Diamond (more on that later) further down the road and got some food at an Indian restaurant around the corner from Bada Bing (CH Link).

There were probably about 15 or so women available, a fair number were attractive and a few were hot. Carla was the first to approach and was hard to turn down because I had my eye on another named Nairobi. I believe both were from the Dominican Republic. After talking to Nairobi, I decided I liked Carla's attitude much better, but she got snatched by another guy. Another blond I liked was also occupied, so I bought Nairobi a drink. The drink set me back $10. Prices here are on the higher side. Nairobi wanted $100 for 20 minutes, or $150 for a half hour. The vibe was mediocre, but I ended up shelling out the $100 because she was hot enough. The sex was fair, but mostly only because she was very attractive.

I walked over to Red Diamond afterwards but balked at the sign asking for $20 cover. I ended up finding a cab back for $5 and calling it a night.

Are those prices in US dollars or ANG? 150 ANG would be about $83 US which is not terrible but still high considering the going rate in Curacao is 50 ANG about $28 US and no bar hopping required, all the prostitution is in Campo Allegre. The girls there all rotate between Aruba, Curacao and Saint Maarten according to the girls' own testimony. Hence, I haven't gone to Saint Maarten yet. It would take a better airfare to lure me there and I haven't seen it yet.

Badabing is like the Centaurus of Sint Maarteen, it looks great if you don't know better, but it's overpriced and you're more likely to get better service at other places for less.

Sint Maarteen is better than Jaco, but I only have a single experience there, too, back when Beatle Bar was the place to go.

Ultimately, Sint Maarteen isn't a place you choose for P4P like I said in the first post, but it's not bad as long as you're not expecting service like in any of the popular Asia, Europe, or South America countries.

The prices I quoted are US dollars, but Badabing is an outlier among the the Sint Maarteen venues when it comes to price and structure. It's more of a tourist trap near the airport. This will become more apparent as I get to the rest of the days. I'm just busy, write slowly, and don't get the opportunity to write as often as I would like.

I doubt Sint Maarteen would offer you more regarding P4P, and it would probably still be more expensive even if you bypass Badabing, but if you go for other reasons and avoid trying to compare Sint Maarteen to other countries, including Curacao, I'm sure you would enjoy it.

Thanks for your reply Matrix. I'm definitely curious to hear how to rest of the trip went. You hit the nail on the head too by mentioning that you have to avoid comparing countries all the time and most of all travel to places for the sake of seeing that place not necessarily for mongering. For me personally, diving would be the reason to go to SM, followed by dining on the French side, but mongering is always a great desert.

Day Two

I picked up the car from Sixt in the late morning. It was beat up with dings and scratches all around, so I made sure to take plenty of photos to protect myself. I ended up not needing them, but I would still recommend doing the same just to be safe.

My first destination was the Vicky's Keys hostel since I only reserved the Crew House for two nights. I wanted to see it first before I made a reservation. I had a paper map, but the route still looked a little tricky. Fortunately, I figured out that I could use the Free Wi-Fi in the hostel to start up Google Maps and it would still work to guide me to the destination even I didn't have phone service locally. I have a GSM phone through Tmobile, I'm not sure if CDMA phones work the same.

Getting to the hostel was a 25 minute drive and required driving over one of several tiny bridges and down narrow, unpaved roads. That was a little discomforting.

I was satisfied with how the hostel itself looked, so I made my reservations for the next day. The main benefit of Vicky's Keys was it's proximity to Carolinas (CH Link), Crystal Club (CH Link), Le Petit Chataeu (CH Link), and El Capitan (CH Link), all were in walking distance. Casa Blanca (CH Link) and Sunset Retreat (CH Link) were too far to walk, but still a short drive away.

I made my next stop into Carolinas in the early afternoon. There were 20 or so ladies milling about and I quickly spotted a couple I liked with more in my acceptable range. The place was kind of small, but looked lively. Since Crystal Club was right across the street, I stopped in there next. Crystal was about the same size but had fewer ladies and lower quality on average. Even so, I found my top pick of the current lineup between the two clubs at Crystal. Her name was Mia and she was a Colombian from Medellin. The price for 30 minutes of her time was $60, and it was well worth it. Mia wasn't quite as hot as Nairobi, but she was very pretty and the service was excellent.

I hurried out to get on the road back to the Crew House before the evening traffic rush hit. The path was clear, although I did have to take an alternate route because of a blocked road, fortunately I had my GPS working after setting it up with the WiFi at Crystal Club.

I decided to hit the nearby strip clubs in the evening. Supposedly takeout is available, but you'll pay through the roof for it. I didn't bother getting quotes knowing about the quality in the Phillipsburg clubs, although I probably should have just for reference.

Red Diamond was first. Even though the sign on the door mentioned a cover, there wasn't one. Inside it looked like a typical strip club. A nearby sign had a list of prices: $5 beers, $10 drinks for ladies, $20 topless lap dances, $30 nude lap dances. Although my initial take was that the ladies were very high quality, I was less impressed as my eyes adjusted to the darkness and I got a better look. The best looking ones seemed to be a group of four ladies from Thailand. I ended up getting a lapdance from Jenny from Bangkok. It wasn't very impressive. I met a Ukrainian that I also found attractive, but I didn't want to waste any more money there and took off for the next club.

Platinum is the strip club located closest to the night-life area near the airport. The venue itself was the nicest of all the places I would end up visiting, but I wasn't that impressed with the looks of the ladies there. They charged a $10 cover but it included a drink. I met an Isabela from Greece that had a super tight body but looked old in the face. I met a beautiful Katy from Romania, but I dismissed her after she quickly downed her drink. I finally got a $30 lap dance with Alyssa from Belarus. She had a great attitude and was super sexy, but I didn't want to spend any more money there so I left after that.

Day Three

I checked out of the Crew House around 11, set my GPS for Vicky's Keys, then made my way over there where I checked in. There's not a lot of parking directly in front of the hostel, but only one other guest had a car and there was more space on the road if it was needed. After I settled in, I headed to the next new place, El Capitan, around 2pm. It's the closest venue to Vicky's Keys, with Carolina's and Crystal Club only a few blocks further. There used to be a popular placed known as Seamen's Club, later renamed to Hypnotique, that was down the street from El Capitan but it was permanently closed down. El Capitan is easy to spot off of the main road and has plenty of parking. They also have a restaurant on the premises in the parking lot.

The talent in the club was dismal in the afternoon. There were about 8 ladies, but only 1 came anywhere close to being considered. Most of them were overweight Dominicans, but they also had a Colombian or 2. The ladies here were fairly aggressive. I had a beer here but didn't stay too long. I was planning to return in the evening one of the following nights to see if the selection was better.

Carolina's was my next stop. I found a hot Colombian named Vanessa from Medellin. My session with her was probably the best of my trip, she was very attractive and very passionate, probably among the best in my hobbying career. She was a bargain at $50 plus $5 for the room.

After Vanessa I did some sightseeing on the boardwalk. Free parking was a little tough, but I found a spot eventually. Star Wars fans should check out the Yoda Guy exhibit they have there.

I didn't do much the rest of the day apart from some reading and planning for the remainder of the trip. I also wanted plenty of rest since I had a long day coming up.

Good report!

Since I'm only there for the beach and the girls, I stay in Philipsburg. The SeaView hotel on the beach is fairly cheap. AirBnB is a good option, especially if there's several of you.

Considering the proximity, selection quality, English being spoken and the USD being the coin of the realm, I think it's the best mongering deal going.

Vanessa has been coming back for the last three years. She's gorgeous (photos are tough in that situation) and never stays in the bar for more than a few minutes. I remember last time she initiated passionate kissing. I never last long with her in the room!!

Crystals is a club directly across the street from Carolina's. They used to only have a handful of girls available at a time, but I noticed last year there was a good selection.

El Capitan tends to have more of a mix of aggressive Dominicanas. I'll usually pop in once on a long trip, but often leave.

The other clubs up north (Defiance, Casa Blanca) are pretty much just Dominicanas, and few of them.

The strip clubs in Simpson's Bay are a long drive, parking often sucks, the girls cost twice as much and they're 10% better... if that.

Last year they had some legal issues with visas that temporarily closed some clubs. I've heard that's all worked out now, but I'd do some quick research before planning a trip.

A good deal of this info may not be applicable for the time being given the devastation from the hurricanes, but I'll finish the report for myself and others that might find the info useful/entertaining. From what I've read elsewhere, at the very least Crystal Club and Carolinas are back up and running although there is a 7pm curfew across the island.

John2510, thanks for the comments. Your observations are spot on. At the time of my visit earlier in the year, I believe Defiance was closed but reopened in the following months. Of course, now most of the places are closed.

Day Four

I spent the morning doing tourist stuff. I made reservations for some water activities for the next day, then drove to the French side of the island to visit a butterfly farm. After that, I continued my exploration of the hobbying venues. The first stop was LA Petit Chateau.

This place is fairly easy to spot. It's on the same road as Carolinas and Crystal Club but further south. If you're driving south, it's on the right side across from the stadium. The first section when you enter has a couple pool tables. The bar area in the next room has a huge oval shaped bar with some game machines and vending machines around the outside. There were 7 ladies when I arrived, all appeared Dominican. Most were overweight. One had a passable face, but overall she wasn't attractive enough for me to really consider her. I finished a red bull I ordered here and looked for better options up the road.

There were only about 8 ladies when I arrived at Crystal Club around 3:30pm. I met a cute lady named Carolina, but I decided against taking her to a room. Mia and a few others came in around 4pm, but I decided to bail. Carolinas had about the same number of ladies, but I didn't see anyone there that piqued my interest. I decided to wait for the evening.

My first stop for the evening was going to be a place called Sunset Retreat, also known as Border Bar, but there were no cars in the lot at 9pm, so I decided to try later and head to Casablanca up the road. Unlike Sunset Retreat, Casablanca was easy to spot. It's a prominent white building on top of a hill and there's a sign out front, although if I recall correctly, it was only easily visable driving South.

There were a few cars in the lot, but only 1 lady was working inside. She was a Dominican with an ok face, but she was on the large side. She told me they open early, but don't really got going until after 11pm when the DJ comes. The place had more of a strip club layout with a hexagon shaped bar in the middle. It looked like it could have a lot of potential if it had more ladies, but I didn't want to wait around a few hours. I decided to return later in the evening.

I decided it would be best to return to the safe bets of Carolinas or Crystal Club.

Carolinas lineup looked nice for the evening. Vanessa was there but busy, and there were two fine ladies I hadn't seen before. Crystal Club wasn't as impressive at the time. The Carolina I spotted earlier was available, but I got a better look at her and she was bigger than I realized.

I ended up with the beautiful Alexa at Carolinas. Total damage was $75 including a good tip.

I finished up with Alexa around 11:30pm. The number of ladies had thinned out considerably.

Casablanca only had two more ladies when I returned at midnight. The other two were even less attractive. There was an additional younger bartender that was decent looking, but I didn't ask if she was available. I went to see if Sunset Retreat was any better.

Sunset Retreat is a little difficult to spot. It's about a mile or less southwest on the same road as Casablana. The easiest way to find it is to look for a tiny unpaved dirt parking lot across from the brown building. The lot doesn't look very safe as there are weeds and places to hide, so keep your guard up. There were a couple cars here now, it was empty before.

Sunset Retreat had about 7 ladies working, one seemed very attractive, but she was busy and I only saw her from a distance. Another had a decent body but an unimpressive face. The rest were far below my standards. The ladies here seemed very aggressive. One in particular kept bothering me.

I hung around for a while to see if the good looking one freed up, but it didn't appear that was going to happen anytime soon. I eventually decided to try the next day and called it a night.

Day Five

I spent most of Saturday exploring the country and doing tourist stuff. I spent time walking along the beach and went on a Sea Trek tour I had scheduled the day before.

I didn't get out until the evening. My first stop was Sunset Retreat around 9:30pm. Only 4 ladies were available, but not the one I was looking for at first. Fortunately, she arrived soon after. I invited her over for a drink.

Flor was a Dominican and surprisingly tall, probably 5'9 without heels. She wasn't as attractive as I had thought and her stomach was bigger than I had noticed, but she was still cute. Her attitude in the bar was only mediocre, but I decided to take her to a room since it was only $50 for 20 minutes. After Sunset Retreat I paid an evening visit to El Capitan. At 10:45pm there were 10 ladies available and the place was much more lively than during the day. I marked her down as an option and headed to Petit La Chateau to see the evening lineup.

Petit La Cheatau looked slow based on the parking lot, but there were a lot of guys playing pool at 11:45pm. In the bar area there were only 6 unimpressive ladies. Only one had a decent body, although her tits were small. She introduced herself as Santa and we chatted a bit. Her face wasn't that great and her fake hair looked bad, but her ass and legs were actually tempting. I considered taking her to a room, but opted to return to El Capitan to seek out the one with the much nicer body.

My dark option wasn't around at first in the bar, but I eventually spotted her when she headed outside to the restaurant. I was a little hungry at this point, so I headed out there as well. While I was munching on some chicken wings, she was deep in conversation with an older lady, so I didn't interrupt. It was getting late, so I decided to call it a night, but I got her name before I left. I decided to look for Angie the next day if a better option didn't come up.

Day Six - Part One

My last day was a busy one. I took some pictures of the clubs in the morning (I have to find where I put them) and did a few more tourist things before returning the rental car. I then caught a bus back to Phillipsburg. Many of the shops were closed on Sunday, including a local buffet I had been eating at, so I grabbed some KFC. I did a lot of walking that day without the car, the first stop was back to La Petit Chateau around 1:30pm.

Santa was there so we had a drink and chatted a bit. I was unimpressed overly, but I really liked her legs and ass, so I decided to take her to a room. The cost was $43 for 20 minutes. She wasn't very good at oral and it was short, but the sex was good. It was worth the money.

I skipped over Crystal Club and Carolinas and walked over to El Capitan next. Angie was nowhere to be seen at 2:30pm, so I had a drink and left. I walked back to my hostel to get my stuff ready for my flight the next day so I wouldn't have to worry about it in the evening.

Day Six - Part Two

I heard mixed things about walking around the island at night, particularly close to the clubs in Phillipsburg, but without a car, the hassle of calling a taxi to the hostel, and the clubs really not that far, I did it anyways. Of course, I stayed very alert while walking. I headed out at 7pm and grabbed some food first at a nearby restaurant which was fortunately open. Afterwards, I made my way to El Capitan.

Angie wasn't around at 8pm, so I hung out for a while. She probably rolled in around 9pm. She was very seductive and sexy looking in the dim lights of the bar, but she wasn't as impressive in the light. I paid $60 for 30 minutes with her but ended up disappointedm, her services were only mediocre. I couldn't end my trip with that, so I headed over to Carolinas. This is the area where people warned about, so I constantly looked around and was ready to run.

Talent in Carolinas was ok around 940pm. Vanessa and Alexa were both working and were viable options. I also met a Diane that was cute. A couple of others were possible but they were older. There was also a lady with an incredible body but a bland face. I decided to head to Crystal Club to see if there was anything better.

I spent the next hour or so between the two clubs. No one really inspired me until Mia came up and made sure I got a good look at her incredible boobs. I ended up repeating with her and had a great, but quick, time.

The next morning I took the hostel's taxi to the airport to end my short, but sweet trip.

I would have recommended a visit here and would return myself, but after the hurricanes this year, I think it'll be years before I consider coming back again.
