After a work assignment fell through in November, I decided to take a last minute trip to Curacao. There's only one major hobbying venue there, Campo Alegre (CH Link), so it was easy to figure out. I've read bits elsewhere about other options, but they sounded like they paled in comparison, and personally I wasn't really impressed with Campo Alegre. It was a fun trip, but I doubt I'll return.

Day One

The logistics of the flights were a pain in the ass, but that's probably because I was limited since I was using miles. I spent 13 hours in the Miami airport, and it was absolutely freezing when I arrived in the early morning. We landed around 10pm, so I didn't even get to my hostel until almost 11pm. The taxi ride was $50 USD, higher than the $35 USD mentioned in the hostel information packet. I thought I was being overcharged at first but a posted sign confirmed the price as well as other travelers I spoke with.

The hostel I stayed at was the First Curacao Hostel, at least that's how it's listed on the hostel booking sites (I used Hostelworld.com). The confirmation I received identified it as The Ritz Village. Appararently, the hostel is one or more of the buildings with the other buildings belonging to the hotel, where rooms are a MUCH higher rate (something like $25 vs $100 per night). The room I had was fine and I was the only person in it when I arrived.

The power outlets, by the way, were the circular type F in the room. They had type A plugs like here in the US in the common area outside.

The currency they use is the Dutch Gilder, although the US dollar is accepted in many places. The exchange rate now is the same as it was when I was there, about 1.7 guilders to 1 US dollar.

I would usually head out the same day/night I arrive, and Campo Alegre is 24/7, but it was a really long day and I didn't want to spend $35+ each way for a taxi, so I just called it a night. The place was really quiet, so it was easy to sleep.

Day Two

I grabbed breakfast at the restaurant by the pool of the Ritz. It was decent but at $11 USD it was relatively expensive in my opinion. At least the pool view was nice.

I needed a car and they had a car rental place on grounds, so I rented there. At $50 USD per day, it wasn't bad, but I only got it for one day so I could research other options which I heard were cheaper. Another traveler checked into the room in the early afternoon and he needed a car, so I offered to take him to the rental places by the airport since I wanted to check them out, too. The airport rental centers turned out to be expensive if you didn't have an existing reservation. Many of the counters were out of the economy options and the remaining ones started at $65 USD per day. The guy was able to connect to the airport wifi on his phone and get one for about $40 USD, I think. I left him there to grab lunch nearby, then headed down the street to Campo Alegre.

Campo Alegre is really close to the airport, almost exactly one mile away on Seru Fortunaweg. From the airport the road will be on your left, going towards the airport it will be on the right. The street sign isn't too hard to read but the easiest thing to look for is the giant green leaf. It's a little harder to see coming from the airport, but easy to see driving towards the airport, particularly at night when it's lit up.



I got to the compound around 3pm. Entrance was 10 guilders, about $6 USD. Security did a quick patdown and put the orange wristband on my wrist.

Campo Alegre reminded me of a large, wide open, but very cheap resort. There's a large open area in the center past the entrance with rows of buildings containing small rooms on the left and right where the ladies stay. Sessions take place in their rooms. In the center is the bar area which is fairly small relative to the entire compound. Past the bar area is a small field. The bar area has some gambling machines, some pool tables, and a stage with a stripper pole. To the left of the bar area is a small counter mini-restaurant and bar. There are also a couple vending machines. Bathrooms are located to the right of the bar and in a building in the back left side of the complex. The photo below is from Google Maps.



Not many ladies were available in the daytime, there were about 20 spread out all over wearing small numbers, but one approached that was cute. She was a Colombian named Catalina from Satna Maria, number 110. She wasn't done up, I could tell she'd probably be much more attractive later in the evening.

Catalina's friend Daniela (106) approached me a little later. She was older but prettier and seemed to have a sexier attitude, but I wasn't sold on her, either.

I nursed my beer and looked over a few other potentials over the next 90 minutes. There was a stocky but pretty brunette that had nice legs and was cute. I ended up just grabbing some fast food at a McDonalds.

I got back to Campo around 10pm. There were a lot more ladies, but also a lot of guys. Overall, I wasn't impressed with the available talent.

I was surprised to see Flor working in Campo, she was a Dominican I had spent time with on my previous trip to Sint Maarteen. I didn't approach but it was definitely her. I'm not sure if she ever saw me or noticed me the two nights I saw her working.

Day Three

I decided to keep the car I had for another day, but made a reservation for a car from Sixt for the two days after. My roommate was returning his car that morning, so it was going to be convenient to catch a ride with him.

I spent part of the day at The Dolphin Academy where I was able to snorkel in the water with two dolphins, another guest, and a trainer. It was a little pricey at $180 USD, but I enjoyed myself.

The sun and swimming took a bit out of me, so I slept for a while and didn't get out again until about 6:45pm. I headed to downtown just to look around a little. Many of the stores were already closed by this time. I walked across the Queen Emma bridge and saw people get stuck on it for 45 minutes for not getting off in time. The whole bridge swings around to make a passageway for ships. It was an interesting site to see. With the bridge open I had to take the free ferry to get back, it was quick and smooth. I was hungry at this point and didn't want to pay high prices at the tourist traps around so I just grabbed a quick sandwich at Subway. One interesting note, they only had one option for cheese there, American.

I made it back to Campo around 10:45pm. For some reason, there were far less people than the previous night. Many of the same ladies were working. I was hoping I'd see a bunch of ladies that had taken the previous night off, but I only saw a few different ones. I got a much better look at Lucia, the blond with the attitude from the previous night. Her outfit this evening didn't disguise her ass as well. Day Four

I had to get up early to ride with my roommate to pickup the new rental. I hadn't checked closely when I made the reservation, but I had reserved a manual transmission. Fortunately, I had long known how to drive one, but for others making reservations, be sure to double check if you don't. I got some additional sleep when I got back then turned in the first car I had. I spent a little more time exploring the Punda area downtown and had lunch at a popular locals place, Plasa Bieu. For about $ I got stewed steak and fried rice. It was tasty, but not particularly noteworthy.

I had to get some work done that day and while doing so, also decided to back up the photos I had taken. I managed to delete them instead. It was frustrating to lose the better photos I had, but at least I still managed to get some crappy ones of Alicia and Marienne later.

I didn't make it back to Campo until 10pm. When I pulled into the parking lot, I could hear some of the most god awful karaoke I've ever heard in my life. It was worse than some of the bad Asian Karaoke I've heard, which is saying a lot.

The crowd of both men and ladies was seemed light. Alicia, Catalina, and Lucia were around. Flor from Sint Maarteen was also working. I thought I spotted two new faces that had potential, but as I got a better look, I realized I had seen them on a previous night, but they looked better this day. One was Issa, she was kind of hot but a bit older. The other was Paola, a pretty one but slightly chubby.

It took me hours to decide as I waited for better options, but they never came. I ended up calling Paola from Medellin over. She wasn't as attractive close up, but she seemed good enough and didn't want to waste any more time.

Thanks for the report, Matrix. I have to take exception to one comment you made about Paola. There is no such thing as a "covered, but exceptional blowjob." By definition, covered lowers any blowjob to well below "exceptional," no matter how skilled the delivery.

The DR is a whole other experience and was probably better than SXM many years ago (Santo Domingo at least), but I'm not sure about now.

I'm returning to the big leagues this coming week. Keep an eye out for upcoming reports on Colombia, although I will probably submit my Asia reports, first.

Day Five

For my final day I decided on another early visit. I got to Campo about 12:45pm. There were very few guys around. Paola, Catalina, Daniela, Issa, and Lucia were working. I didn't see any new faces, not attractive ones at least. I only stayed an hour before deciding to do a tour of the nearby Hato Caves. It was a good and inexpensive way to kill an hour and it was right down the street.
