In spite of the police crackdown that went down while we were there, Cienfuegos really was a pretty little town.
The marina resort had one campground space, and some jet skis to rent
While walking through town, I happened upon a couple working on their front doorstep
When we picked our friend of from the police station, we left Cienfuegos for a neighboring location. Located on the coast between Cienfuegos and Trinidad is the idyllic resort known as Guajamico. This may well be the best resort for our hobby in all of Cuba, and here’s why. First, they’re a French operated resort, and have a much more relaxed guest policy than anywhere else we found. Second, the place is just beautiful

We all managed to get some water sports in. The diving there was great!

The pool is several hundred feet above sea level on a clifftop, and offers some incredible sunsets. Beneath the pool area are some caves, complete with hundreds of sleeping bats.

The schedule of diving, sessioning, eating, sessioning, drinking and sessioning kept us very relaxed and happy. I will definitely go back to this location with a favorita again.
If you want to stay at Guajamico for a few days, you can drive into either Cienfuegos or Trinidad to find an amiga who will gladly join you for a days festivities at the resort. To book your stay there, you can try this link

Several people have emailed me for more detailed information about ‘how to’ do Cuba. These guys can help you with your tickets, your car rental and your resort reservations.
Perhaps Hombre could add their site to the links section to help out fellow hombres who want a trusted organization to get them to Fantasy Island
TRINIDAD
Founded in 1514 (Yes, that’s almost 500 years ago), Trinidad is one of the oldest cities on this side of the pond. Cobblestone streets and architecture that predates the Spanish influence of the rest of the island make it a popular tourist attraction. In fact, the number of tourists there was almost of concern! Our night in town at the discos proved distressing due to the number of competitors there. Many of the girls knew how many guys were in town, and weren’t negotiating. (Note to self – better to travel in offpeak times than peak times like February). Another interesting sight was the number of European girls who were hooking up with Cuban men – is there a ClubChica.com out there?
We had our chances with a few chicas, but they were working us over pretty hard, and I’m way past that type of action. Once you’ve tasted country girls and sweethearts who are into having a good time with you, why settle on a clockwatching service provider? Besides, we had the hope that around the next corner would be an attractive hitchhiker. Nope – because of the crowds of competitors, we passed on getting any new talent that night, and I’m ok with that. We found a friends house and parked on the narrow street in front for electric service.
The next morning, we had a wonderful breakfast of coffee, eggs, fruit and fresh squeezed juice for $2/each. An interesting thing happened during breakfast. Our Cuban tourguide knew our host and they were talking about his situation. It appears that he had been working in Havana without permission to do so. When caught, his penalty was to suspend him from any work for 30 days. Tough times. All of this conversation went on in Spanish, and I understood most of what they were saying without them even realizing I was listening. In spite of his economic situation, this man showed us warm hospitality WITHOUT trying to rip us off and/or ask for more money. Let me tell you, after getting hustled so many ways in that country, it was a joy to leave this poor guy a few extra bucks without being asked.

Hey Sandman,
Apparently this magazine is available in Iraq. Cable reports have said that Iraqi soldiers tried to surrender to British troops yesterday. The Brits told them that they were only having a practice exercise and couldn't accept surrenders.
Wonder if they told them to come back later?
