I was back in Guadalajara again last week. I was also there in May.
Big Jim had reported last year on GDL on the Redsnake Board...he had great experiences, and wrote a long trip report. Several others, including me, had commented that things there were not nearly as active as he described.
Here are my observations: First, in general, compared to TJ, Guadalajara has poor pickings. The clubs in general do NOT have many girls (read next to none), generally not that good looking, and very few male visitors. Also, if you don't speak Spanish, you will have a difficult time-- and will have a hard time even getting there.
The clubs in general are on the poor, SouthEast side of town. The neighborhoods are probably safe, but I wouldn't walk around too much.
Guadalajara del Dia is the best known of the clubs, and unfortunately, each of the times I was there on my last two trips, the place was dead, with few girls, and no other guys. Safe but not cheap, with expensive drinks, add-on charges for the room, the bar fine, a tip for the condom, etc.
The hotel looks like it is abandoned but it is not, and they do have the big round bed
Cascadas was closed.
Paris de la Noche is run down, with dark, falling apart decore. The girls when there are any are plain looking. The one cute girl I saw in May was very young, cute, a big drinker, and didn't go to the room.
Juniors was closed once when I was there, the other time had only a few chicas. The place is nice, but it was nearly deserted. Unfortunately, the scanky hotel was infested with either Mosquitos or bed bugs because I got eaten up.
I also got steered to a strip place called Ramses, in the same bad neighborhood. Nice place, cute girls, good crowd. Very US like, including prices. I don't think the girls did anything more than dance, lap dance, and drink... But I could be wrong.
The taxis tried to get me to Kaos, but the previous posts on Redsnake suggested it was also a strip club only, and expensive, and far from where I was staying, so I didn't get the chance to go.
In short, Guadalajara is a great city for other things, but don't go there for the sex.

From what I know of Caos, is is not just a strip club. It is pretty expensive, but wall to wall gorgeous girls is what I have been told to expect there.

All prices in pesos.
The girls will go to the room at Kaos, but it's about $2000+. Lap dances are about $150, if I remember right. Most of the girls were not incredible IMO, but there were 2 or 3 9s. But the place is set up like a Vegas strip club, and you can't hear shit when you try and talk to someone. They work you for $$$ from start to finish.
Girls will go to the room at Rameses, but it's $1000 to $1500 plus $650 for the room. Also a crass hussel on drinks and door charges.
Juniors is the same as Rameses for the girl and you have to arrange your own room. They had some nice looking women when I was there.
The esteticas masculeas are about $1000 total for an hour with massage and jacuzzi. Rape (Rah-pay) gets the best reviews.
I love Guadalajara, but the action is too Americanized. Guess that's what economic success does to a Mexican city. Hablo bastante español para comunicarme con la gente.

BP -
Have you had any luck at the Men's Club in Guadalajara? It seemed to be the same Men's Club as is in Dallas, Houston, etc. Big pink stucco building with no name outside, down the street from the Camino Real Hotel.
I was down there in Summer of 1999. I spent some time there because of the proximity to my hotel. Quality of the women, and price, were on par with, or one notch below what you would expect in the Men's Club in the US. Certainly more painted/artificial girls than you might find in say Papagayos in NL. A classy place. The frisk on the way in reminds you that you aren't in Kansas anymore.
My friend had one chica at the Men's Club lock on to him the first night and had several all night sessions with her. His report was good, but this was his first time dealing with the wonderful women of Mexico. (i.e. no point of reference.) I never did get a straight answer out of him on the price.
I didn't get a chance to sample many of the other places, because of other things fighting for my time. A couple of guys I was with went to Kaos, had alot of negative things to say about. I took the report with a grain of salt though because I wasn't for sure if their reaction was to Kaos, or just the the whole Mexico scene in general.
Overall I agree with you about GDL. Great city to live in, one of the most beautiful cities I have been to. Clean. Great restaurants. I've thought about going back just to sample some of the eating establishments. Certainly more action in Nuevo Laredo, though.
