Ran down to Cozumel for the Labor Day weekend. Used Continental as AA schedule to Cozumel is a pain connecting with AeroCaribe thru Cancun. Houston connection was bad on the way back (weather related). Not a big deal.
Stayed at the Barracuda. Cheap and comfortable enough at $60 a night. Didn't have any overnight guests, but am sure that it would not have been a problem. Run the water before stepping into the shower. No TV, I didn't miss it. Room was air conditioned, had a ceiling fan, a small fridge, and an ocean view.
Current selection at the Carribean Queen is poor IMNSHO. Met a girl I liked there though and went with her several times. $100 including $25 for the room. Full hour and a decent time.
Stopped at the Cigar Bar. Selction there had improved from my last visit. Met a girl I knew from the CQ. Glad to see her as she is knowledgable of Guatamala and El Salvador and fun to talk to. Not bad in the cama either. $100 like the CQ. Both girls quoted me $100 plus the room, but quickly agreed to $100 total. I am not an agressive bargainer.
As always this is not a premiere hobbyist destination, but it's just a real pleasant place to spend a few days and has hobbyist activities available. Cigar Bar is open during the day and CQ is the only place open on Sunday.
Didn't make it to Salsa or the strip club. Cabbie told me that selection was off at Salsa and the girls at the strip club were asking top dollar ($150). Anybody ever try the Ranchita place near the CQ on the other side of the street ? Cabbie told me no es seguro para usted. Didn't feel that I need to prove his point one way or the other.
