This is a tiny report-too wiped out from 3 trips to Venezuela in 3 months with emotional soap opera turmoil with a favorita-capped with a return flight forced to land 1,000 miles from my home during the hijacking and drive across the US-not to mention not having written a report of my 3rd trip 5 weeks ago or posting photos from it either).
I spent time in Maracay and Caracas this time. In Caracas near the sabana grande, I discovered "calle de los hoteles"-street of the hotels-which Explorer8939 referred to in an earlier post but not by name. There are 9 hotels/bars on this street and each caters to working girls and their customers-though one hotel (the seediest) doesn't have a bar.
The hotel embassy he referred to is the best-explorer mentioned small rooms-I went to one with a girl just for an hour and it was small-with porno tv. However i spent the night in a suite (called the "cascada" suite) that was incredible and only $50 (the hotel coliseo charges me $90 just for a small room). The suite was like a high-priced whorehouse with mirrors on all the walls and ceilings, jacuzzi at the foot of the bed-and a five-foot window in front of the shower so you could watch the girl shower as you lay in bed (though thankfully it does not provide access to the toilet area).
The suite (but not the smaller rooms) actually has a built in remote for the tv which I loved playing with the hours between sessions.
I could not believe how cheap the suite was and later found out why. If you bring a girl from the outside there is no charge to the hotel-but if you bring one from the bar (all the girls there work for the hotel) they stick you for $40.00 in the small room-or $100 for the suite. Yes, that's right-an extra $100 to bring the girl to your suite in addition to what you pay her.
I brought girls from their own bar to a small one but nevber brought one to the suite-I used it to bring in a favorita.
Btw, if you bring a girl up from the Embassies' own bar there is no walk of shame as the floor with the whore's rooms and the "love" suites is accessed only by an interior stairway off the restaurant and bar. I have to say the second floor for whoring has nothing seedy about it and there are no security problems as is the case in a couple of other hotels on the street.
The maids are cool and one smuggled in an iron to iron my clothes for me.
This is a business, so remember you can feel ripped off if you get drunk, don't understand about the bar fine, and end up spending twice what you would have if sober. You know the drill, when you are sober no one lies to you--they just might forget to tell you about the full costs if you don't press them about it.
The "calle de los hoteles" is literally only a block long and every bar on it is a whorehouse-but if you hang out on the street in front after midnight you will get assaulted.
My most humorous part of the trip was eating dinner in the hotel embassy restaurant as working girls who had arrived too early to work were hanging out and loudly joking with eachother, the waiters, and dinner customers about being prostitutes and wanting free food from the kitchen.
Btw, got to see a bomb removal from in front of the hotel coliseo-it didn't explode and citizens told me bombs never explode in Venezuela because they are planted by politicians to smoke-screen the economy.
