The seeds of my trip to Buenos Aires were planted just over two years ago, on the beautiful spring day that one of my coworkers died. Jared walked out of his office on his way to lunch, lurched forward and collapsed onto the cold gray tile of the hallway. The medics would later say that he died instantly.
Jared's death changed my temporal orientation. I've always been the kind of guy who lived in the future. The kind of guy who promised himself that some day he would live out his fantasies. Some day.
Self absorbed person that I am, as I watched the EMT's lift my friend's lifeless body onto the stretcher, I thought more about my own life than Jared's life.
People die. We are not assured that tomorrow will ever come. "Ezy", the inner voice said,"it's high time that you start to live out your fantasies."
And this I have done.
I made a list of places I wanted to go and things I wanted to do. My list looked like this: Travel more. Learn Spanish. Search for GFE's.
My first destination was Quito, Ecuador. It was a good choice for me. I found lots of low-cost language schools, plenty of cultural sites to visit, and the Andes mountains provided a stunning visual backdrop. And,yes, I found lots of chica clubs with hot blooded Latinas.
Over the next year or so I visited Quito 5 times. I learned a little Spanish, went mountain biking, gained an appreciation of Latin American art, and enjoyed many a GFE for as little as $5.00USD.
I will probably always go back to Quito from time-to-time, but after 5 trips I decided that the time had come to explore other cities. Moondog's written report on Buenos Aires aroused my interest. When I saw the pictures, I was ready to hop on the next plane.
I picked up a bargain ticket ($596 rt), located a reasonably priced, chica friendly hotel (Holiday Inn Express, Puerto Madero.$90 double), bought a Lonely Planet guide book, memorized Moondog's report, bought my first-ever perscription of Viagra, purchased two dozen American condoms, drug my winter clothes out of the closet, and I was ready to go.
As you will see in my report, Argentine women are passionate and beautiful. The standard rules imposed by US providers do not apply in Buenos Aires. Kissing is not only permitted, but often initiated by the girl. BBBJ's and Greek were the rule rather than the exception. "Short" sessions often lasted 4 hours with as many "pops" as I could muster.
My report is in the form of a diary. I chose this method over a factual summary of where to go and stay because Moondog's recent report on this board covers most of these subjects in some depth.
But before telling you my story, here are a few facts you should know:
1. Buenos Aires is one of the world's great cities. It has a very European flare. The streets are clean, subways run on time, and the cost of living is high compared to other Latin American cities.
2. There are literally dozens of excellent restaurants in Buenos Aires...The specialties are italian food and steak houses. Try the excellent, reasonably priced Argentine wines.
3. Knowledge of Spanish is useful, though I found more English speakers in Buenos Aires than in Quito. I speak basic Spanish and had little difficulty.
I hope you enjoy reading my day-by-day report as much as I enjoyed living it!

EZY,
Great report. I have always wanted to see Buenos Aires from a tourist perspective not from a monger perspective. However, now I know I want to do both.
Sounds like a great time was had. I was wondering if it would be that difficult to do Buenos Aires and Uruguay in one trip.
Thanks again.

Thanks...RE:Uruguay....Actually, the high speed ferry to Meontevideo leaves Puerto Madero regularly...rt is about $110, I think. I had planned to go for a couple of days, but I could not drag myself out of bed during the day after playing all night...all my enegy was consumed by chicas...Uruguay is still on my list, though. Rumor has it that the girls are just as attractive and the costs are much lower....
