Once again I can tell you that I try to find at least one new place whenever I visit San Jose. This trip I was able to find two new locations.
Joselyn`s is located on Ave 7 , between calle 3 and 5. It costs 500 col to get in but they give you a drink for that...The girls are 5000 col for a half hour.

Hotel and Bar Bachata is located on Calle 4 between ave 5 and 7 (only a block away from 747).
300 col for a beer and 3500 col for a half hour with a girl.

I also re-discovered Bar Dandy on Ave 10 at calle 14. It is a Tico brothel with a full bar as well as a sauna. Drinks are 600 col and the girl costs 11,000 col. They have nice clean rooms upstairs( similar to Idem) and a very friendly atmosphere. The Bartender is Gisela,formerly of Idem, and the managers name is Memo. Tell them that Don Gordo sent you.

Bogarts has turned into a nice place to go and unwind for a while. The girls are very friendly, the bartenders are great(especially Francella) and the prices are certainly right. I had the good fortune of running into Tampa Gringo while I was there. It is always nice to talk to the real master.

I had mixed results at Club 40. Friday night was hot while Saturday was very slow. I am sure that this was caused partially by the Holidays.It is always worth checking out if you are in the neighborhood. 500 col gets you in the door with a free drink and 5000 col gets a half hour with a girl.

Bar Camelot had some nice talent on Fri night and Arte`s Sauna seemed to have a new crop of girls available.

Idem is still the king of the brothels(imho). Unfortunately for me, they were closed Sun , Mon, and Tues but when I was there on Thur, Fri and Sat , the place was jumping. The girls were great(as usual) and all of the rooms were taken on more than one occasion.

New Years Eve was pretty much as I expected... The Blue Marlin was packed with Gringos with very few chicas available to service them. It made for a very loud and raucous evening in the bar but a good time was had by all.

My overall assessment of San Jose during the holidays has not changed. If you are not very familiar with the city and the chica scene, you would be better off not coming between Christmas and New Years(as well as Holy Week).
Many of the businesses close for the entire week and a lot of the chicas take the week off an go to the beach. The Festival at Zapote with the carnival and the Bullfights is great fun , but thats not why we go to San Jose.

I just got my ticket from Lacsa for Feb 7 to Feb 18 for $211 . The price was so good that I couldn`t turn it down.

I thought I remember reading that Jocelyn's was a high priced strip joint where they work you for drinks. I walked by in the daytime, but I never went back at night. Am I thinking of the same place or somewhere else?

Have you been to 747 recently? That's another place I walked by but didn't go in. If I go back I'd like to check it out, if you have any advance info on talent available there, I'd love to hear about it.

Please keep us updated on ticket prices like that. I assume talent is still light right now. When would you estimate things to be in full swing again?
