I just got back from my first trip to Tokyo. Despite the claims of high prices in Japan, sex is a bargain compared to the US or Germany, and it is legal and safe. Of course Canada, Mexico and a lot of Asia are cheaper.

I just like to clarify that prostitution is NOT legal in Japan. FS prostition is illegal in any form, including those taking places in soaplands. But, within areas of tolerance (technically for non-FS sex industry), crackdowns almost never happen. And because it is done so openly and publicly, you could easily think it is legal.

I remember hearing a guy talking about prostitution in Japan on the Tom Leykis radio show once who mentioned that vaginal sex for pay is illegal in Japan but anal sex for pay is not.He mentioned that many supposedly went to rooms for the purpose of anal sex for pay but nobody was watching what holes were getting plugged.

I don't know the truth of that comment. If this were the case, then shemale (or gay) hookers should be able to operate legally, but I don't remember if that's the case.

Now you brought it up, there is something I always wondered about. When you pick up LA exotic (you know, the publications that you can pick up at gas stations for free), and look at the ads from escorts, most genetic female escorts put discreet ads with their faces often covered or blurred. In contrast, shemale escorts put ads with clear facial shots. Could it be that, in LA county, prostitutions by genetic male and females are regulated differently? i.e. is prostitution defined only for sex between male and female? And, thus, is prostitution by shemale (genetic male) not illegal?

I know, in San Diego, the regulations are actually harsher for TV hookers, because the city aims to "protect" unsuspecting sailors from them.

One thing I know about Japan is, it is legal for women to put their fingers into men's anus for pay. There are places that specialize this type of service, and they are called "seikan massage".

It just occurred to me, it might be true that anal sex for pay is legal in Japan. S&M parlors are legal without vaginal sex there (just like they are in this country), and I remember some of them offered anal sex in the menu.

I can confirm that anal sex (usually abbreviated AF) is technically legal in Japan, as the law states that only genital-to-genital contact is illegal. That's why many sex services openly list "AF" as an option, but often have a disclaimer that sex is 'not allowed' (but often tolerated under the right conditions!).
