Arrived in San Jose 1:30 on Saturday. Mi novia picked me up at the airport. Went to the Morazon to "rest"for a while before dinner with mi novia. "Rest" = Quick shower and off to the Blue Marlin. Like a lot of posters I was touched in a peculier way by your narration of your encounter with Lirica. Any update on the latest after-shocks of that event?

Taxibob, this was my 1st trip, thou I felt I knew a lot about CR before going. I met my girlfriend in the States about 6 mths. ago. She had told me a lot, I had read everything I could find, and I speak Espano. As for prices at BM, even a lot of the girls laugh when they say $100. I didn't find one that expected to get anything even close to $100 except from a few poor souls who just can't except how good and inexpensive the "good life" is in CR. I even heard some of them talking (in Espano) about some guy being horny enough to actually pay $100. If you spend time with them talking, and having a good time getting to know them at least a little before even discusing money, the price comes down even more. These girls really like to be treated like a girlfriend, and if you give them the girlfriend treatment, they will give you the GFE in the room.Again, speaking Espano brings the price down even more. In fact, the price of almost everything in CR comes down if you speak Espano.

Sigh, unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, depending on your viewpoint I guess), there's really not much to add to my Lirica tale. My trip in September and the time I spend with her are still reverberating through my life however.

With the help of a couple of good friends, I had tried contacting her last fall, shortly after my return. But due to some very unfortunate timing, I was unsuccessful in this. Although I was successful in getting a note to her, I missed an opportunity to get some return mail from her by days, if not hours. I do know that she seemed to be very pleased to hear from me, and had immediately went to write a return note, but due to other commitments my buddy had to leave AB before she completed her note. Several other attempts to contact her have failed, and I believe she has left TJ, possibly for good.

My life back here has changed, in part due to the catalyst of last year's journey to TJ. I now plan a return trip to TJ this spring as well as planning some travel elsewhere in Latin America or South America.

When I return to TJ, will I seek out Lirica?

I've debated this long and hard for several months now, and the conclusion I've come to is that I will, and in fact I probably wouldn't be able to not to anyway.

You were letting something that happens to a lot of us (in one proportion or another) happen to you, and then you were brave enough to try to figure out exactly what it was that had happened. At risk of getting way of topic here, but yes, figuring out what happened to me, and more importantly why and what to do about it, have been the main focus of my efforts in the last few months. For me it's a very interesting story, I've been confronted with some truths about myself and my life back here that have been both painful and freeing at the same time.

This is such a personal experience I never really thought it to be of much interest to anyone else, not really considering that others here would be facing similar issues. Perhaps I'm wrong. I have shared my story with some close friends made on this board (well, as close as you can get considering some I only know through correspondence), and to a man, they have been a great sounding board. But then again that's what friends do when well chosen. In this aspect I've been extremely lucky.

I guess the one thing I do not want is a reputation as a whiner with a never ending tale of woe, certainly that's not the case (tale of woe anyway), and some changes have been very positive. In fact the positive far outweigh the negative.

You know, you really shouldn't encourage someone like me to write about this stuff, you may get exactly what you wish for. LOL Seriously, not normally a very talkative, touchy-feelly kinda guy, I've found working a lot of this stuff out verbally and in written form is the best kind of therapy (for lack of a better word) and the subject matter is such that finding an appropriate audience is a challenge (in my more giddy moments I think about bring it up at a family meal, now that would be some ice-breaker).
