actually 2 nights and 2 days, but title used sounded better.

Paid 7200 baht ($171) for roundtrip BK to Phnom Penh. Flight to Cambodia was short at less than 1 hour. Landed at tiny 5 gate airport and got in line for entry. Didn't know passport photo was required, got very lucky because I had photocopy of passport for photo. Paid $25 entrance fee then changed $50 into Cambodian reals (190,000). Spread money between bag and several pockets then left airport.

Plenty of taxis and motobikes waiting to give me ride upon exit. Ignored them at first then accepted ride from motorbike for $4 to Diamond Hotel.

Ride to hotel was smooth and comfortable. Saw what was meant by wild west atmosphere. Obviously a poor country with rundown buildings and poor people everywhere. Roads were very dusty, not all roads paved. Most roads had no divider with cars and bikes regularly crossing where line should have been to pass. Motorbikes going in both directions on both sides of road. Lots of beeping like horses braying. Went through many intersections but only remember 1 or 2 traffic lights.

Checked in at Diamond for $35 per night. Two elevators were tiny with max capacity of 4 people each, only one person if big. Room was decent with air conditioning and room safe.

Found driver for rest of day at $15. Had him take me to Svay Park. On way I suddenly had to take a dump. Had him stop at Shell gas station but no bathroom. Had to wait until arrived at Svay Park.

Svay Park/Km11 (Kilometer 11) is only a small road with storefront type buildings on each side. Spotters obviously watch for entrance of vehicles to Svay Park. Smiling young Vietnamese ladies rush out to greet. I was only interested in a dump. Driver stopped at one, spoke briefly to man outside, then I rushed in.

Led to a dirty small room with toilet bowl part of floor. Several used towels were laying around. Bucket of water had mug-like container and was located under small running faucet. Guy gave me a dirty towel, I looked at him funny, he said it was ok. Closed door, then short knock later was driver with tissue. Balancing over hole in floor was difficult task but had no choice. No handle to flush, had to pour water from bucket to hole using mug container.

Was led to couch then surrounded by ladies. Wanted to look around but driver said I was obligated since I used toilet. Driver wanted me to bring lady to hotel but I opted for onsite. I was annoyed by being obligated so I didn't want sex and just got massage which was still nice. Room was very small with just enough space for twin board and little walking space. They quoted $10 after which I paid.

Walked around outside afterwards to get a feel for the place. Was surprised by the small size of Svay Park, was expecting a much bigger scene. Possible to walk from one end to the other in a few minutes. Plenty of ladies, many attractive, despite small area. Almost all ladies appeared to be young Vietnamese with light skin tone.

At one point I was surrounded by approximately 10-15 young 100lb and less ladies who managed to overpower me by numbers. Hands everywhere dragged me despite resisting into building and onto couch. Left me alone afterwards so got up and left. Looked outside a bit more, then left to see other options. Driver said should be careful, hands can slip into pockets. Fortunately didn't lose anything.

Next stop was Street 63 which is Cambodia equivalent of massage parlor scene. From outside not apparent at all, looked like normal street. Brought to two places, both with decent selection of attractive Vietnamese ladies, but facilities were much lower standard than Bangkok facilities. Still wanted to look so didn't choose a lady. On way to Sharkeys driver told me it wasn't appropriate to just look at those places.

Road outside Sharkeys dark and unpaved, looked moderately dangerous but had no problems. Walked upstairs into bar. Large bar in center of room with pool tables on each side and dart board on opposite end. Doorways to right led to balcony outside with view of street below. Moderately crowd in bar with a good number of attractive ladies and good ratio of ladies to men. Found a Cambodian lady I liked but she wanted $50. Had a drink with driver and checked the place a little bit longer. Kept thinking about a lady from 63 so had driver return there to pick lady up.

Short stop at 63 where I paid $25 for all night but had driver explain I only wanted a few hours. Stopped for quick bite to eat before returning to hotel. Lady delivered good service but then didn't want to leave, kept whining about wanted to stay with me. Finally got her to get dressed to go.

At midnight front desk was closed and staff was asleep in lobby. Had to wake one up to open door for us to leave. Lady left on motorbike then found driver for next two hours for $10. Streets were mostly empty, hardly anything open. Definitely not a big evening scene here. Noticed I had been getting bites and at least 3 mosquitos in cab had me nervous. Driver first took me to Sharaton Hotel, but it had closed at midnight. Driver then took me to Martinis.

Martinis is small disco with open air bar to left. Large screen outside has movie playing. To right of bar is a couple video games then about four or five video poker machines. Two small restaurants serve food. Spent next hour and half checking place out. Plenty of attractive ladies, but many seemed more interested in dancing than going home with customers. Kept getting hassled by aggressive older ladies. They would grab my arm then follow me around despite my obvious disinterest. I'd manage to get away but they would keep bugging. Got tired and not too interested in sex so went back to hotel. Taxi and motorbike drivers hassled me while leaving despite my insistence that I already had driver. Small begger children surrounded car and three or four ran alongside far as far as they could before we picket up speed.

Asked front desk about ATMs, said there were none in Phnom Penh had to do cash advance on Visa at bank. Went to iCafe nearby for some light reading before heading to bank. Afterwards went to Garden Cafe mentioned in other report here to eat. Decent food, but nothing impressive about facility or food. Then had driver take me back to Svay Park. Svay Park is much more comfortable in daytime. Sampled two ladies onsite. Single shower room at first place was in use so had to stand wrapped in towel in hall. Shower consisted of having cold water poured on me by laughing Vietnamese lady. Both ladies very cute and provided nice service.

Afterwards had driver take me around town. Took me by river where many restaurants are located. Appeared as though many places here expensive considering prices elsewhere in Cambodia. Decided to get dinner at Walkabout which according to visitor guide I had was the only 24 restaurant available. Food was OK but food preparation was dreadfully slow, should have complained. There were several cute ladies here and they appeared available.

After dinner went back to Street 63 to bring another lady back to hotel. Unfortunately I came too early and grabbed her before she put makeup on. Was still cute, but nowhere near as attractive as the evening before. Service wasn't as good as previously ladies, but still worth the $25 I paid. She didn't want to leave either.

Went back to Sharkeys. Same cute ladies as before plus several more. I was most interested in the $50 lady, but not the price. Decided to check out Sharaton since it was open now.

Sharaton Hotel has a small lounge area where singers perform in separate building to left. A decent lineup of attractive Vietnamese ladies was avaiable but I didn't check prices. Next visit maybe.

Ended night at Martinis. Again got hassled by fuglies. Most attractive lady rotated between me and two other guys, kept telling me she would leave with me later, I'm sure you told the other two the same. Saw another lady blow off another guy she didn't want to talk to. Ended with obscene gestures and profanity towards each other. Was kind of surprising, wasn't really an ugly or obnoxious guy, she just didn't like him and he took offense.

A group of rowdy Europeans ended up forcing one another into a small fish pond for fun.

Unable to bag most attractive lady, I opted for cutest lady that was interested in me. Almost went for twosome for $50 with her friend, but decided to save dough. Had lots of fun with this lady back at the hotel.

Spent a couple hours at iCafe then couple hours at airport because I was told incorrect flight time two hours too early. Returned to BK on one hour flight where I continued the rest of my adventure.

SUMMARY
Short two day trip to sample Cambodia. Enjoyed myself but was not sufficiently prepared. Now I know what to expect will probably do 5 day trip next time. I would not suggest Cambodia for beginners or for long term vacation. The prices I paid ($10 onsite, $25 takeout) were probably too much from what I've read.

PROS
High ratio of young, attractive, light-toned Vietnamese ladies who provide great service at bargain prices.

CONS
Mosquitos everywhere, Americans not used to their bugs and should be vaccinated prior.
Scene primarily daytime, nighttime available and had no problems but supposedly more dangerous.
More much third world than more popular sex destinations. No ATMS.
Little else to do besides have sex with beautiful young Vietnamese ladies.

That driver was fucking with you. He said that you were obligated only so he could get a kick back at Svay Pak. He also said that it wasn't appropriate just to look at ladies at 63 because he was frustrated that he didn't get his cut. Sounds like you had a great time overall though. I have heard that the discos have since been shutdown..When did you go?

I was there a couple of days last week myself.
I have been many times obver the course of the last few years. I have stayed at the Diamond Hotel Prior, but this time it was full with a Japaneese tour group. I ended up at the Lucky Staryr hotel which is close to Martini's and some street action. New hotel and costed only $15. I will stay there in the future. The drivers are always looking for extra money. I take what they say with a grain a salt.

I live in pattaya, go to Phnom penh every three months to renew my visa. I always go to km11, I think it has the best service by the most enthusiastic young women at the lowest prices to be found anywhere on the planet. If you paid $10 for a short time, you got screwed by your driver, who got half of it. The price for a short time is $5 in ALL the houses. There are only about two dozen houses at km11, but there are more fine young hookers than you can screw in a week.

I get out to km11 at 8:30am, a little early, but some of the houses are open then. At $5 a pop, i go with 3-4 babes ( the trick being not to come until the last one) pick the best of the group and take her to the hotel... for $20 until 8am the next day.

All the girls at sharkey and martinis work in brothels all day, head over to these two places around 10pm with one idea in mind: get picked up for an 'all night' fee, fuck once, go to sleep. for the same $20 you can have a young woman from km11 all day and all night.

As opposed to the hookers in thailand, who do everything they can to avoid doing what they've been paid to do, the young women at km11 are always accessable, enthusiastic, and active participants. there's no comparing thai hookers and vietnamese hookers from km11, they're worlds apart.

Hombres interested in going to phnom penh might want to check the message board on for current info about cambodia.

I've prepared an info packet from my experiences of going to km11 the last 6 years, info on km11, phnom penh (hotels, restaurants, drivers) and a list of vietnamese/english translations. Anyone wanting this info can send me an email at: .

Went third week of January. Originally going to do trip focused on Cambodia but changed to mostly Thailand with Cambodia sidetrip after Koro scared me. Glad he did. Had a good time, but think the way I arranged it had much better time.

Ezgab, stayed at Diamond per your recommendation, next time will stay at Lucky Staryr and Bayou recommended by Km11fan and compare 3.

Km11fan, how do you suggest making arrangments so that driver does not get commission? Read your info on this site. Thanks for putting that together.

Ummm...OK, a little incipient Alzheimer's at work here, maybe - what was it I said about PNH that put you off? I've been going since xmas 1994 and have had only one 'event' that could have turned ugly...4 guys on two bikes hitting me and a buddy walking down a dark street at 11 PM (NOT RECOMMENDED) - the police at that time had stopped working at 10 PM.

Other than that, it's just your normal wild west free-for-all. Please refresh my memory as to what I wrote...I presume it was in the Phnom Penh thread somewhere.

You also wrote: "Had a good time". Glad the net result was good.

You mentioned "Bayou" hotel - did you mean "Bayon"? That's one swank place. Careful of the age of the girls you take there, it's a popular spot with both rank and file and uppity-ups working at the French Embassy across the street...you know, concerned ladies among them who can't really judge the age of Asian girls, who can look quite young even in their early 20's. You have to pass quite close to the bar and the adjoining eating area on your way in. Zee French ladies might be all eyes.

It's also located pretty far from the amenities of downtown, so you're bound to either spend a lot of time walking, which is OK if that's you wanna do, or else you're stuck taking moto's everywhere, all the time. The moto-dops will probably expect a nice fare from you since you're staying at a high-end place. There's a bunch of them who hang around the hotel entrance, so if you stay there, walk down to Monivong before flagging down a moto. A moving moto with no passenger will almost always be cheaper than one who's been standing around outside a glitzy hotel waiting for a customer.

If the moto-dops at the hotel try to pressure you into using them, just say 'Daa Layng!' [walk play] = "pai tiao" in Thai, they'll laugh and let you go without any further harassment. Just don't get on a bike within their sight after lying to their faces, not appreciated of course.

Nuggets taken from the report, to stir our memories...

"Guy gave me a dirty towel..."
"... laughing Vietnamese lady."
"... had to stand wrapped in towel in hall."

Thanks for the laughs.
