I am going to hold you to that, I want to meet Brenda. There is something about her that is driving me crazy, can't quite put my finger on it. I don't have any pics of her when she was baby sitting me, but I could probably get some now. Of course if she was old enough to baby sit me that means she would be pushing 60 years old now. Thanks Moondog. The cops mostly just hassled me for minor traffic violations. Like I got pulled over every day and told "no uturn", or "you ran a red light" or "you have 6 people in a 5 passengar vehicle". I never got a ticket or a hassle. Remember that the cops are there to protect tourists.

The cops had the street chicas pretty well shut down during the week, but it was a candystore on the weekend.

You'll have no trouble finding your favorite shade of brown sugar in Havana. If you like your women of various colors, there are literally six or seven TIMES more of them there than whites.

Rental cars are more about the quality of the car than which agency you use. When you walk out of the airport there are four companies right there. I ask who has the newest Mitsubishi or Toyota, or else you get stuck w/an older Peugot or a Hyundai. The vast majority of cuban rentacars are old pieces of shit by our standards.

Expect to pay $40-60/day, the longer the contract the lower the daily rate. That includes insurance. $200 cash security deposit is due at signing, and you prepay the rental contract in cash too. I've never been hassled on the deposit refund.

Brown sugar - - domestic or imported - - is the sweetest treat. Negritas, mulatas . . . they're what makes the world go round. I wouldn't put Claudia on a stairmaster . . . that sister is que rico!

I'll probably get back to Havana this spring . . . sooner if you keep posting pics of chicas like that.

The open-air cafe is El Chevere. It's become quite the hotspot.
I always try to include one very hot chick of a darker shade when I go to Havana. The selection available down there is incredible, isn't it?

I stand corrected. Sorry about the cafe reference. El Chevere is anything BUT a cafe. We showed up Friday evening at 11:30 and there must've been a line of 150 people waiting to get in. A nod of the hat to the man at the entrance and we got in within moments.

The guys I took along were there for their first time. It's very crowded, and cubans love to press up against each other.

I recall their comments:

"Goddamn I felt like a piece of meat there".
"My ass hurts from being grabbed so much"
"Well my dick was touched more in the last 10 minutes than in the past 10 years"

Definitely not a cafe...

DG, dude you got balls of steel for bringing a video camera into Cuba. I would probably pee all over myself if a immigration officer looked at me sideways over the camera, especially since I'm American. Can I ask you a question? What would you have done if one of the immigration officers asked to view your video tapes? Weren't you afraid of what could happen if they saw the females on the tape? I'm not flaming you, I am asking because I am thinking of going to Havanna for New Years and I wanted to bring my video camera too.

1) Make a whole tape of useless crap. Do this in the states. Better would be to videotape a couple of TV shows. (It's a little strange, and therefore titillating, but no problems so far.)

2) Make 5 - 10 minutes of the house, cars, hotels, people in Cuba ON EVERY TAPE. Do this the first thing in the morning (so the timestamps will show they are from separate days). Then, you can quickly scan through the tapes, showing the first bit of each of them, and no problems.

The above advice won't work. If they decide to review your tapes, they review every bit of them with you in a holding room. Most of the time you will be deported and banned from ever coming back. Jail time is rare except in cases of very underage sex, or something equally outrageous to the authorities. 99.99% of the time they do not search you when exiting the country, that's how DanishGod has been doing it.

I might add that, as I become more enamored with the cuban experience, I'm beginning to become less inclined to do anything that might risk my ability to return.

My first cuba trip report is loaded with pics I took WITHOUT knowing that I was violating any cuban law.

During my 2nd & 3rd trips, I took fewer pics, and merely enjoyed the hell out of being in Cuba.

On a recent trip, I took hardly any pics, and will likely begin to use a photo-editing software to blur the girls faces. Why? Because I wish no ill will to these sweeties, and they could get into trouble or go to jail/labor camp for posing.

As for me, I'd prefer not violate any cuban laws. That place is just too good to get banned from.

DanishGod, I do not believe any of this! Actually, I am in awe of your spectacular reportage. You clearly know how to have a good time.

I was thinking of taking all my photos and videos out on my laptop computer instead of leaving them as raw tapes. I can capture them to my hard drive using FireWire and put them in a hidden directory on my computer. (I have the latest PowerBook with a 60gb hard drive, so space isn't a problem).

I would then write over all my old tapes, or even leave them in Cuba.

How technically savvy are the customs folks? It might help that I have a Mac instead of a Windows machine, so security through obscurity is a likely option.
