The most frustrating thing about Thailand is being able to identify the difference between post-operation ladyboys and life-long girls. About 80% percent of the ladyboys are obvious but the other 20% boggles the mind.
The only way to tell the difference is to look for signs not so obvious. Many ladyboys take hormones, remove their adam's apple and have a high voice. Here are some hints:

1. If they have a tit job it's likely they are a ladyboy. Just ask. Very rarely do beautiful girls in Thailand go under the knife (too bad).

2. Facial surgery-ladyboys will usually get a nose job or cheek bone surgery and sometimes done by damn good surgeons. Remember, plastic surgery is cheap in Thailand. Good tit jobs cost about $1,000 bucks.

3.If your suspicious..ask them if they were a boy or a girl when they were born.

4. Limit your drinking. Nobody wants to wake up with a dick in their ass. Always inspect every girl to make sure she has a clit.

5. If that fails, look for signs that the girl is feminine to the extreme. Dramatic flips of the hair or exaggerated feminine walks or expressions are signs that the ladyboy is trying to overcompensate. Thai women are feminine but their femininity is not exaggerated.

If you prefer post-ops, and many straight guys do then you should check out some of the following places. Even if you do not want to partake with ladyboys, you still should go to a couple of their go go bars for a fun experience:

KINGS CASTLE III (PATPONG):
As I walked into this small go go bar, I was blown away at how many stunning girls were working here. As I sat with 3 super-model looking girls, I did notice a couple of not-so-obvious Katoeys. Later, the "girls" told me that every "girl" that worked there was a Katoey and that nearly all of them were Post-Ops. They all had tit-jobs and facial surgery...should of been a dead giveaway but I was a little buzzed. For those of you who think you are Katoey experts, I dare you to go to this bar. You will be in shock. There are short time rooms upstairs and I was tempted to get a BJ with one Katoey who was better looking than any real girl I had seen anywhere in Thailand...BUT the idea that they were once men just shriveled my unit pretty quickly. I would not blame any guy for trying it out because it would actually solidify you heterosexuality as these katoey's look more feminine than actual Thai girls.
KING'S CORNER (PATPONG):
was walking by many of the go go bars in Patpong and was drawn into this place by the incredibly hot "hello" girls wearing school girl outfits. Once inside, i thought that I had gone to heaven. Unreal looking girls. Thin bodies with tit-jobs, beautiful faces, very friendly. Looked like Vegas-style Thai girls...so I thought. Unfortunately, almost every single girl here was a post-operation ladyboy. No adam's apple, no deep voice, they weren't tall, their hands and feet were small. I was fucking confused.

NANA PLAZA- There are several ladyboys working at Mandarin and Obsession has a lot of pre-op ladyboys.

The ladyboys working Mandarin really stick out like a sore thumb!! I was there last week and when you see a man-ish looking lady that's a full head taller then the other ladies it's sure easy to spot 'em!!

As far as other clubs and around town - if they're not next to real Thai women it can be VERY difficult to tell!! The hints given above are good ones. Keep your eyes open for lots of makeup/implants/exaggerated feminine mannerisms/big hands-feet/etc.

Watch how much you drink. This will make it easier (not easy, just easier!!).

BTW, went to the Tiffany's show and was just AMAZED!! There are quite a few of them that were terribly convincing!!
