Pattaya has the cheapest accomodation in all of the mongering world. Easy to find 3 star accomodation near 1,000 baht an night. The hotels I recommend are based upon price, location and guest-friendliness. The top hotels are as follows:
-EASTINY PLACE: I found this place by accident and think it is the best overall value in Pattaya. The rooms are 850 baht and they are modern and clean. The staff at the front desk are very helpful. The hotel is located on Soi 8, near Second Road. They have deposit boxes located at the front desk but make sure you get your belongings out the night before you go home because they are usually not open late at night and early in the morning. Would not be fun to have your passport and money stuck in the deposit box when you have an early flight.
-FLIPPER LODGE: Also located on Soi 8 but the hotel is right by Beach Road. The sea view rooms are well kept and can cost anywhere from 800-1,000 baht. You will have to get reservations during the high season as this place is very popular. There is an excellent pool on the roof and the lobby has a large internet cafe. The food is is decent. There is a balcony out front that is a great place to drink and watch all of the bargirls go to work. If you look real closely, you will see Mcdijj kicking back with his laptop, watching the hot pooying roll by.
-RESIDENCE GARDEN: This is an apartmet but the place looks like a hotel. Price was 1300 baht a night. Rooms were very modern and new. Rooms contain large closet and safe. Small kitchen with stove, fridge and appliances. Living room with couches and chairs. Balcony with table and chair for two along with great views. Pool is very nice. Breakfast is decent there. Restaurant attached named "Captains Corner" which has a Barbecue Buffet for about $6. You can ask them to cook any of the seafood or steaks that they have available. You can eat three steaks, crab legs, whatever you want....for the same price. Many of the girls whom work at the breakfast cafe are very hot. The place is not in the middle of the action but you can take a sonthaew and the trip takes about 5 minutes to the action...Just stand on the sidewalk in front of the hotel and waive one down, there are plenty of them coming from Jomtien.
-DIAMOND BEACH HOTEL:This hotel is right next to Superbaby and Supergirl a go go and has VIP massage attached. I paid 1100 baht a night for a deluxe sea view room and the rooms were equivilent to Soi 8 hotels, only slightly bigger and a better view. The only downfall was that the breakfast sucked. Kind of cool to walk a few steps from the go go bars to your place.
Others: Many peope also recommend Flipper Place on Soi 7, Sabai Lodge and Sunbeam. If all of these are booked, just focus on Soi 8 and Pattaya Second Road to find a hotel...it's easy. For you budget-minded folks, there are plenty of places that go for 300-500 baht.

I'm a fan of Sabai Lodge on Soi 2. There are a lot of beer bars around, but none right next door. Kind of peaceful. The new rooms are NICE and cheap too!! Got one for 750B/night. The new wing also has their own pool. Smaller and more private. That's good at night when you wanna bone your BF in the water...

The one problem with Sabai Lodge is they have a strict pool policy - no swimming after 9:00pm. I tried several times to do a little “snuggling” in the pool after dark but got booted out each time. Other than that – it’s also my favorite hotel in Pattaya.

I agree with the Sabai assessment. I had to flee the Flipper lodge due to the impossibility of getting sleep. Fortunately I stumbled on the Sabai Lodge and slept well for the rest of my visit in Pattaya. Nice rooms and friendly staff, and quite the pool culture with the Europeans during the day. Very guest friendly to boot.
It was about the only thing that went right with my Pattaya visit.

I stayed at Sabai Inn right across. I had one of the bigger rooms, 1100bt, no complains. My friend said it is considerably bigger than his room.

My vote is for the Residence Garden. It is quiet and clean, which is just what I need when I've had enough action (which isnt too often). Steer clear of the buffet, though. When youre not watching, they allow flies to cover all the meats and fish and chicken to lay their maggots... I saw it.
The staff is great, though, and they are very guest friendly.

HAve stayed at both Sabai Inn, Flppr ldge.
Sabai Inn is to the N. which at times feels to me to be a little out of the loop. Though as well can be a refreshing change as is close to the Festival shppng mall and 3 of best massage parlors in twn.
Also, there's alternative str shopping near by twrds N. rd as well as the lcl beer bars on soi2 and surrounding areas which have many pleasing ldys.
Flppr is located nearly a mi S. past central rd near bch rd end of soi8. A very busy night life bar area and at times can feel as if overly distracting. THough a preferred location if wishing the more central location and not minding the overly stated surrounding beerbars and hounding of the brgrls.

Innocent,
thnks for this info on Hol Mns. Was also wanting and trying to figure the location as I'd like to check out in Oct.
Can possibly give me some more detailed info as to location. I know 3rd Rd and seems might be a bit far off for me . I generally like to be closer or more central located to mid of town, 2nd or Bch rd area.
thnks, Braut1

Just stayed at Sabai Lodge in April (06) and can highly recommend it.
DSL available in the lobby, their PC's or your laptop.
Welcome Inn girls are right across the street starting about noon each day.
