COSTA RICA FOR THE TIJUANA TRAVELER:

My resume consists of hundreds of visits to Tijuana, two to Thailand, one to the Philippines, and one to Costa Rica. I can provide hundreds of referrals from TJ, about 35 from Thailand, 10 from the Philippines, and 10 from Costa Rica. My target audience is the Tijuana visitor who wants to know what makes Costa Rica special. There may possibly be some minor factual errors, such as pricing, but the bulk of this guide should be an accurate representation from my point of view.

HOTELS: HOTEL PRESIDENTE AND HOTEL DEL REY

The most often recommended hotels for Hombres are the Hotel Presidente and the Hotel Del Rey. Any first-time TJ hombre should definitely stay at one of these two unless they are both completely booked. Accomodations and prices are very similar starting at approximately $55 per evening. The Hotel Del Rey charges a $10 guest fee per visit to the room but is more convenient if you are selecting girls from the Blue Marlin Bar located inside the hotel. The Presidente doesn't charge a guest fee, but is a one and a half block walk from the Blue Marlin. This walk is commonly referred to by CR visitors as "The Walk of Shame". This walk will likely place you and your date(s) within eyesight of regular tourists, hence the name. If you don't mind TJ on weekend nights (the crowd in front of AB), you should have no problem with the walk.

BARS: BLUE MARLIN

The Blue Marlin Bar/Casino is located inside the Hotel Del Rey and will likely be your center of operations. Upon entering you'll be near the bar. Past the bar you'll find the casino where you can play the CR version of Blackjack, roulette, or slots. (Craps and sports booking can be done at the casino next door) Past the bar is the restaurant area where food is served 24 hours a day (the whole place is 24/7). If you came in from the other entrance, the order is reversed.

You will immediately notice three things, the place is well lit, well ventilated, and the music is at a reasonable level. Keep in mind the BM is a bar and CASINO to get a better visual of what to expect. You can see everyone and everything clearly. There is no dance floor, so music is kept at a reasonable level and you won't need ear plugs.

Girls come to San Jose to work from Colombia, Nicaragua, Panama, and even from Russia. The variety of looks is much greater than in TJ with many blacks and caucasians mixed in. Although it may not be apparent from photos I've seen on this site, I would give the edge in quality of girls to Costa Rica. When I went last year, the BM had lookers that could go toe to toe with Paola/Michelle AB, Michelle AB, Jenny CC, and Evil Julietta CC. Like TJ, the full scale is represented in CR, but I'd put CR's average higher as the girls take much better care of themselves. Since the BM is brightly lit, you don't need to worry about your girl downgrading in looks once you exit the bar, you'll be able to see her perfectly well beforehand.

BM girls typically dress much more conservatively. You are much less likely to see sheer tops and other typical AB prostitute gear. When the girls are walking down the street with you, they do not want to look like a prostitute, even if it is apparant from an age difference.

BM girls do not collect fichas, so you do not need to worry about inflated drink prices or girls guzzling down drinks then bailing. Most will be willing to talk with you and spend a lot more time with you than the average HC girl. It's also unlikely that you'll be asked to go to the room before you know each others' name. (One of my ZN pet peeves)

Many BM girls will start their quotes at approximately $100 US for an hour and a half. You should be able to talk them down to $60 - $80. If you are staying at the Del Rey, an additional $10 will go to the hotel when you bring her upstairs. If you bring her outside the BM, no fee applies.

GFE sex is much easier to find in CR for a number of reasons, I will only briefly mention them in this report to keep it concise. Basically, the different culture, the lower volume of clients, the working environment, and the profile of the typical guy makes for a girl that is generally more willing to put out quality service for the money.

BARS: CLUB IDEM

Club Idem has built a reputation for itself as a popular lower priced alternative to the BM ($30-$40). Roberto runs the place and is very friendly and helpful for his customers. I never purchased drinks for girls there, but from my understanding there is an additional charge for their drinks.

Club Idem isn't really a bar, I would consider it more of a small brothel with a tiny bar inside. When you walk in, you'll see the girls all lined up along the right wall sitting in chairs. Occasionally they will rotate their seating positions. You can sit and talk with the girls if you'd like, but you really should only come to Idem to get laid for less money. Two sets of rooms are located on the premises, one set straight past the bar with additional rooms upstairs.

The selection at Idem takes a small hit in quality of looks, but it's still a great value and highly recommended. Tania and Candi of AB would fit in nicely at Idem, they might even be below the median in terms of attractiveness.

BARS: PARK HOTEL

The Park Hotel is famous for it's interactive lesbian show on the weekends. You need to pay a $15 cover charge to get in. The bar is very small, hardly bigger than Monte Carlo (the restaurant to the right of AB). Rules are explained beforehand and babyoil is passed out to the guys sitting at the bar. When the show begins, 10-16 girls walk out on top of the bar and do a little bit of dancing while the guys rub the oil on them. Soon enough the girls take positions going down on each other or using toys. Occasionally a guy from the audience will participate by eating a girl out or even climbing up on the bar to have sex with them.

On other nights or when there isn't a show going on, the bar operates much like any small bar. Park selection is definitely a notch or two below Idems and even more so compared to the Blue Marlin. I would say selection at the Park is a little lower than the selection at Las Chevalas.

BARS: MOLINO ROJO

Molino Rojo is the closest equivalent to Adelitas that you'll find in San Jose. You'll find many more locals here than in any of the places mentioned above. The bar is dark and you can have sex with the girls in the back rooms for around $15. I found the average selection of girls here to be similar to the Park except for several girls that clearly stood out from the rest, approaching BM quality. Unfortunately, these girls were popular, smiled much less, and appeared to have customer volume similar to an Adelitas girl. In the span of two hours, a blond I was attracted to went with about three guys.

Thanks for the comments. I was asked to do this guide because of the experience I have, I'm glad I did. I'm currently working on the other perspective, TJ through Costa Rica eyes. It should be interesting.

Sometimes the best lookers are harder to get pictures of. Maybe the guys who take the pictures are more experienced and are more successful at finding the best lays, not necessarily the best looking girls. Some of the top AB and CC girls don't have pictures on this site. It could be a similar situation in CR.

I went from TJ to Thailand to the Philippines to Costa Rica then back to Thailand.

I wasn't adequately prepared for my first two trips. They were fun, but somewhat bumpy. I prepared for Costa Rica and had a blast, and at the time Costa Rica had been my favorite place. I knew I had to get back to Asia to do it correctly. My November trip to Thailand was one of the highlights of my life. I went with Xenono and we put together a huge report, his half alone is over 100 pages typed.

Thailand or Costa Rica first? Both are lots of fun and have their own advantages, but I'd say do Costa Rica first, have the time of your life, then go to Thailand and become truly amazed.

I made a inquiry about the nature of CR not long ago on the Central America board and was amazed at the hostility that I recieved there. I have enough airline miles for a free flight to Central America, but not to South America of Asia (yet) Your report is the kind of informaton I was looking for as I was thinking of using them for a trip to CR.
I've decided to skip CR and have booked airline tickets for BKK instead. It will be the 3rd time in LoS. (this time I'm not going to do EDEN's first...wears me out) After completeing my BKK trip I will have enough miles to get to Rio.

I generally spend my time in Asia but I make it to CR once a year Usually in the off season (August). One thing that I overlokked on my first few trips was the action at the Park Hotel during the day, besides the shows on Friday and Saturday the Parks line up during the evening shift is below par.... but if you stumble in there in the middle of the day you likely will be suprised. There are some really sweet girls that work there during the day (maybe not considered stunners) but definatly some GFE's. It wasn't untill my 3rd trip to CR that I realized it was a daytime place. Next time your there check it out.....
