Prologue-

As I sit here reflecting on the awesome time that I had in Rio, I realize that I only got a brief glimpse of what in every respect is paradise. These research assignment trips are just quick hits to test the flavor and potential of a location for a more indepth visit at a later time. Only this time, I just didn't want to leave.... I think this time I'm going to focus less on the details of the who/what/how much and more on trying to pass along my impressions of the city and the scene. For this trip, my goals were variety, quality, and then quantity. It didn’t totally work out, but it was good to have a plan.
