Day 15 – Last full day in BA

The morning sun never poked through the overcast skies. The temperature was bearable but the gray winter skies reflected my sadness that this was my last full day in BA...this trip. The night was even worse with several downpouring periods of rain to drive home the looming depression.
I decided to make the most of the day and did the Spa thing. What a delightful experience. A real first class operation at Colmega Spa. Be sure to do the VIP or first class version. It only costs a little more to go first class and at the spa I am sure it was money well spent. Next trip to BA I will go there as soon as I get situated in the hotel. The steam, the heat, the service, the ladies, and all there to help you relax and enjoy life.
For an afternooner I decided to walk around the corner from Art Suites and try the 2254 French Street brothel. Now I have not been in a brothel as such since I left Germany in 1988. French Street is a very nice and clean operation. The selection...if one is a selection...was nice and we (read I for sure) enjoyed ourselves. I did have to go back to Art Suites before entering French Street. I am not sure what the sign on the second door says in Spanish, but I am fairly certain that it said no cameras allowed inside. I did not push the situation by trying to take my camera inside. Art Suites is just around the corner, better to avoid an initial hassle than to calm the waters afterwards.
For my last supper in BA, I had to do Argentina beef one more time. Beef lomo, as they refer to tenderloin, is to die for here. The size of the portions alone make it wonderful, but the quality of the beef is unheard of in the US. The range feed beef seems to be much leaner than American beef. My huge hunk of beef was done perfectly and I savored each bite.
I decided to try the downtown clubs tonight. I had not done the Hook and Ness clubs this trip. Being that it was early I stopped in Orleans for a beer and eye candy before hitting the clubs. Alas, that was a mistake. A good mistake. I never made it to the clubs. I spotted a cute little blonde that I had not seen in Orleans before. A bit of conversation and we were off. I started to head back to Art Suites and realized I had never experienced the Horizontal Hotel. Around the corner we went.
Alas, this morning I cannot remember the little lasses name. She was decent, but not the best of the trip. Not the worst of the trip either. Not having my camera, pictures were never an issue. She performed well enough but just a little too professional and too mechanical. Note to self, always take the Vigel along, it seems to enhance a GFE with the ladies. She did seem to enjoy the DATY, I know I did. Nice shaved clam is always good for desert after a big meal.
Well, my nut was popped, my belly was full, and my room had stuff everywhere that needed to find its way into the suitcase. I headed back to the apartment, packed and hit the sack. A satisfied grin on my face as the patter of rain on the window put me to sleep in a mattter of minutes.

Also...since I know you are a foodie, like me....put Bella Italia cafe in Palermo on your list....try the trout a la plancha, served over a bed of steamed green vegetables...or the potobello mushroom appetizer.......Neito Sentener Cabrenet goes down very smoothly...and the tiramasu is heavenly.All for about 35 pesos....There are two restaurants with the same name...one a cafe/bar the other a full service restaurant...I have tried both, and prefer the cafe....

or what about 1880 Parrilla..on the non tourist part of Defensa in San Telmo...the ojo de bife is wonderful here..and the pechito de cerdo is even better....try a grilled provolone appetizer...and a Casona Lopez Malbec....the flan here is good...and the total cost....25 to 30 pesos....

I am old(er). No question. Hit 40 this year and the gray hairs (of what remains) are making their appearance. I have many vacation options this summer, but I haven't found a suitable itinerary yet. I think a sojourn down south would help restore aspects of my youth. Thanks for the food recs...

Moondog, you just made my evening. Thanks. I am rapidly coming up against 55 and feeling like the sands are running out. If you are still kicking, and your great posts say you are, I still have a few more smiles to go.

I get the impression that BA is a nice place to enjoy the golden years. Seriously. The posts about the nice restaurants, good entertainment, all coupled with relatively intelligent women sound pretty attractive.

BA is currently my top choice for a place to retire. I currently like the fast pace of Brazil more, but I don't think I'd want to live there at this time. Buenos Aires seems to me a very pleasant place to potentially settle down.

BA is a very relaxed town. Although it is a large city, and has all the ammenities of a large city, it can be very relaxing just walking around early morning or on a Sunday afternoon, especially with a beautiful girl on your arm.

One of the things that I most enjoy is that it is not a 24/7 environment that the U.S. is. It is really nice to have many of the businesses close on Saturday, and most all closed on Sunday. The important ones, reataurants and clubs are always open.

I plan on getting an apartment down there in about two years, and just keep it for retirement to visit whenever I want.

One more thing, the girls, pros and non-pros, have no problem with an older guy, and in fact many prefer it. Hanging around with these girls is totally fun, and keeps you looking and feeling young.

Is it just me or does anyone lese agree that, while waxing eloquent is all well and good, 14 reports with no mention of hard data .... well, come on! What ever happened to: What, When, Where, Who, How much?????

Names, Phone numbers, addresses? Spent a whole afternoon interviewing the good, the bad and the ugly from Clarin & the Nacion and didn't take a single name or phone number away from the experiment?

It's all just rather disappointing to see so much poetic detail and nothing concretely useful .... sorry to say it, but perhaps a reminder that the forum is an information exchange as well and a place to rehash war stories can't hurt.

General information is fine, but unless it is club, massage place, or borthel, specifics such as names, phone numbers, addresses of idvidual girls should only be shared between guys who know and trust each other.

There are plenty of girls on the websites that give out contact info.
