Seeing all the fantastic posts on this site, I decide on Costa Rica for a visit, and spending some time in Tica-ville. It helps that my 20 year old son and his 20 yr buddy want to surf Pacific Coast, got good grades in college this year, so everyone is happy. I plan 3.5 weeks consuming freq. flyer miles I didnt need for Delta from California. For the record, I am a 49 year old DWSM that looks younger - but knows better, am financially secure, and not much of a negotiator. So dont get flaming on me please, I'm a newbie.... This is a longish post so if you simply want the facts, search for $ signs and read there. (I felt like writing to clear my alcohol damaged brain cells)... Its LATE June 2003 and the exchange rate is about 400c to a dollar.

We arrive Monday night and I am itching to go to the Blue Marlin, but too tired from the longish flight, airport 2 hour passport/customs lines and taxi to the hotel. I am staying at Britannia, a nice place with the usual Costa Rica "host" Edwin.(More on him later!) My son/friend is with me. Skipping right thru to Tuesday night, I take my son and his surfing buddy to Del Rey, explaing that Dad is going to get his own room and have a little fun. He laughs and we drink mucho Imperials together in what could be called Father/Son bonding, but actually we are all stunned at the quality and quantity of the beautiful and bodacioius ticas milling around the bar. For you Dads out there, drinking age in CR is 18 years old, they card, and who cares. So we threw back way too many and got shitfaced together - I guess that is sort of bonding? Were off to surf together next week...I am going to try not to bond my head with a reef.

This is my first time in CR, so watching the ladies stand up in front of this tiny bar, on display for "eye-contact", like "come and get me boys" is quite a fun pastime. After a small amount of eye tag, they either visit you, or you come hither them and the ball gets rolling. I had a cutie sit next to me and start talking, but she smelled sweaty and I really wanted to get into her friends (talking to another guy) pants, but being honorable (cough) I yack it up in english and pointy language, having fun while she rubs my leg. Well, it did. Guys, some advice to the newbies, WALK THE BAR many times, it changes constantly, the view is wonderful and no one will steal your beer! I screw up and ask her to my table and room and pay an exhorbatant price to learn that "para todas las nochis" does not necessarily mean all night and the next morning. Next night is somewhat of a screwup. Boys and I have dinner in nice Italian Pizza place next to BM then dart over for more girl watching. We get scammed for 5500 each colones for three drinks and cover (dad pays, arghhhhh), then immediately pounced upon by some of the 20 or 30 pros at the bar. They rub you cuddle you, cajole and generally drop their tops and gyrate on your delicate privates, for one lousy song when the full court press to buy the gals a drink (fizzy apple juice in champaign glasses) happens. Later you find out cost is 5000 colones! Yikes. Leaving the naked girl dancing at the bar stiking her finger in her kitty, (very nice), we run- don't walk away after being informed on hour upstairs is $150 US. Bye, bye, NEVER NEVER go to Babes. Well, there was one consolation. "David" my sons young friend, has never experienced a lapdance before and is completely entranced (dont look at the light... David!!) by this drop dead Hondorus gal. She is like nothing you have ever seen with eyes to melt terminator liquid metal, a painted on leather skirt over the best body you have ever seen. Wiping the drool off our clothing as we leave I explain to the boys to NEVER go to a Taxi recommended babe bar, and use the internet productively. They smile at me patronizingly. We end the night at New Fantasy, where they play porn in the room (just for you honey!) while you get a naked massage and anything you want for 12000 colones. This is a classy joint with lovely ladies (3-6..7) and well worth the money. I leave 2000 c tip, and enjoyed a great one hour massage, shower, HJ, and could have been bj or whatever. Three of them only 45 min late, which is not bad for CR, time here has a different meaning than to non-tropical climate folks....I cant belive it. They actually ARE college students, youngist is 18, oldest 21, beautiful, obviously experienced, and staff at the hotel restaurant/interiew area know them well, kissy cheeky while I pull my jaw off the floor. I ask the boys to retire (they ignore me) , buy a few drinks while trying to decide who the lucky lady is. They are testing me too, and pretending to laugh at my terrible spanish. I give up completely on actual productive or whitty conversation, drink too much, and ask the dark haired beauty Rebecca (pics in future post)for a "date" by taking her hand. The other girls are not crestfallen, as I had hoped, but ready to go disco with my son and his friend while I (stupid Dad) am PAYING FOR IT! Here is the good part. The matre-d, money handler, boss of the resaturant comes over while we sit on the couch and TRANSLATES the negotiations on price for me. She wants $150 for full night, I will only pay $100 - fool me once! But again guys, that may sound like too much, but this girl is one year older than my daughter!, has bodacous titties hanging out of her silk top, is slighly thicker than the emaciated gals at the BM, one of the prettiest coffee skinned faces I have ever seen, fat kissable lips, and is driving me crazy with the bluest eyes (later I learn they are contacts) I have ever seen. I marvel at this pricing scenario and realize CR is a crazy town, with legal prostitution, that is easier than sending your meal back to the waiter if it is cooked incorrectly. We left with a small bottle of Tequila and holding hands like a schoolboy...
I paid the $100 and spent the night pretending I was Don Juan on my king size bed.
