Day 2/Night 3

I woke up at 10:00am, missing the breakfast. Took a shower and and went downstairs to see if Rolando was around to take me to Valle del Sol. Sure enough he was there, and his wife and daughter were in the van too. When we pulled into the club, there were quite a few more cars in the parking lot. As anywhere, the course is more crowded on a weekend than on a weekday. I asked Rolando to wait so I could verify that I’d be able to play. I was told, no problem, it just might be slower than yesterday. I had to wait on a couple of holes, but by the time I reached the back 9, the field was wide open. I finished at 3:00pm and Rolando was waiting for me in the parking lot. I asked him to drop me off at 12th and 12th, that I wanted to go to a barber shop there. We had passed it the other day and I just liked the “old” look of it. I went into the shop and there were several people waiting while a boy was getting his hair cut. This was an old school place, 3 old-fashioned chairs and one chair for kids with a pony head on it. There was only one barber, Senor Castillo, and he was everything you’d want in a barber. I was next after the boy, the people waiting were his family. Mr. Castillo charged the boy 1,200 col. It was my turn next and Senor Castillo shook my hand and introduced himself before I got into the chair. I told him how I liked my hair cut and he proceeded to give me a great cut. He finished in 20 minutes and charged me the same as the boy, 1,200 col. I gave him 2,000 col and he kept thanking me as I headed out the door.

By now I was starving, having missed breakfast and not having had lunch yet. As I walked up Avenida 12 towards the Gulch, I saw a small Soda with really nice-looking pieces of fried chicken in the window. I placed my order with the waitress and she brought me a plate with fried chicken, rice & beans, sauteed zuccini, a carrot salad, tortillas and a coke for 800 col ($2.00).

I continued towards the Presidente, looking at all the small shops and the throngs of people. I couldn’t have felt more safe. Eventually I made my way to Avenida Central and walked the remaining distance to the Presidente. I took a nap, getting ready for my last night in Costa Rica. I woke up at about 8:00pm, took a shower and headed outside. Thought about running over to Club Fantasy before closing time, but instead headed off to IDEM. On the way the cab driver tried talking me into going to the Platinum Strip Club, but I was having none of it. Had a leisurely drink at the bar, talked to Roberto who introduced me to a couple of Americans on vacation and I finally settled on Leeza, a tall, dark Nica. Went upstairs and had another really nice session. All three girls I took at IDEM had the same sweet personality like they’d do anything for you and all three kept smiling throughout. It was now about 9:30 and I figured I’d give Molino Rojo one last go. By now I was treated like an old friend by the security guard – a 500 col. tip really gets you noticed in this town. Again, plenty of talent hanging around. I chose Melissa, a young dark Tica who was wearing a two-piece blue satin outfit that had me standing at attention. Again, negotiations were quick: Hola and Vamos. We had a passionate session with kissing, cbj and multiple positions. According to my watch, we went almost 45 minutes, but nothing was said. I said my goodbyes and stepped into a waiting cab back to the Presidente. It wasn’t yet midnight, but I had had a great weekend and was ready to give it a rest. Asked for a 6:00am wake, up call, packed and went to bed.
