This place has about the same amount of talent as Fields Avenue in AC but the bars are closer together and the girls are a couple years older. From the outside, the place looks small. The bars are built in a circle and there is a snack restaurant in the middle.

Some tips:
*The Lady Drinks are 295 pesos(very expensive for the PI). Be careful with groups of girls as the waitress will step in and expect you to buy lady drinks for all of them. Better to pick out a girl you like and drink with her. The same rules for TJ apply here. If she is downing the drinks too quickly, let her loose.
*The local snack bar has girls that go to all of the go go bars with menus trying to sell shitty pizzas for 400 pesos or fried chicken for 300. Smile and tell them "no thank you" as these prices are crazy for the PI and the food is low grade.
*Barfines are 1,000 pesos but none of the money goes to the girls. You will have to pay her around 1,500 to 2,500 for short time and negotiate more for long time. This depends on the girl and her experience.
*Make sure you check ID's
The bars:
*Pit Stop- Some definite hotties here. The place has a Nascar type theme and has the upper-level seating at eye level with the stage. Usually ten girls dancing at a time.
*Samba Bar- Great talent here but the mamasan's are a little pushy. They play a lot of Cuban music here....but no mojitos. I really love the seating at this place, although the bar is very small.
*Firehouse- Fairly large bar here with an old Chevy converted into an old fire truck on stage. I thought the talent here was poor.
*My Fair Lady- Huge bar here with a lot of young, spirited girls. The place has nice lounge couches that circle the dance stage. Fun bar.
*Cotton Club-Huge bar with cozy booths. The mamasans and waitress' push hard for lady drinks here but the talent level is average. I may have picked a bad night but I was not impressed.
*Casino-Fun bar with a lot of teenage girls. The waitress' looked damn good here. The teenagers and mixed in with some long time veterans. Good idea to pick out a veteran(tatoo, smoking) and buy her a lady drink while you pick her brain about the scams of the girls and staff.
*Space Girls-I might be wrong about the name but it had the name "space" in it. Very high level of talent here. The best in the complex. Actually better looking girls here than any Makati bar. The place is small but the quality is high. Go to the right as you enter the complex and you cant miss it.

It used to be that the Firehouse and Cotton Club had, by far, the best looking gals, but things change... I agree, the talent at EDSA, isn't much better than AC but it's easier to bar hop to some extent since it's all in one bldg. and if you just had a short time in MNL, then it would be a pretty good choice, although the prices are considerably more expensive than the all inclusive AC price of 1000P for LT!

I am staying at Oxford suites in Makati. If taking a taxi from Makati, if I ask to go to EDSA where they know where I am talking about.
I apologize if this sounds like a stupid question as this is my virgin trip.

sure, just tell them EDSA complex and mention girls in Pasay City. he will know what and where you mean. you can also say heritage hotel as it is just about across the street from this major manila hotel.

By Merlin on Saturday, April 30, 2005 - 06:21 am:  Edit

Lou, itīs about a 20 minute cab ride, but maybe a bit more depending on traffic and time of day.

Thx. Reason I ask.. Hitting MNL for 1st time on return leg of AC run. What do you think is better place to put up?: Makati (Oxford Suites) or Pasay (Tropicana/ Copacabana whatever its called across from EDSA). Sounds like Makati has prime talent but it's more of a rip off zone.

By Merlin on Saturday, May 21, 2005 - 07:19 pm:  Edit

Lou, I wouldn't worry too much about getting ripped off in Makati, there is pressure to buy drinks in both places and some places try to pad the bill, but most go-gos are ok. Saw some street crime near Ermita (LA Cafe), but Makati and Pasay City are relatively safe.

Oxford Suites is much nicer, more corporate than Tropicana. Makati has a lot more things to do like restaurants, iCafes, coffe shops etc. and the go-gos and bars in Makati are more spread out and there are more of them. EDSA reminds me a little bit of NANA, a large building with lots of go-gos crammed into them. I prefer staying near EDSA simply because some of my gal friends are at the EDSA bars and I enjoy hanging out at Spacegirls and My FairLady (but MFL may be closed or renamed) and LA CAfe, which is closer. Definitely check out both places though.

Merlin, me and u seem to have developed the same MNL routine. I've actually gotten to the point that MFL and SG and the only two I buy drinks in. MFL has an absolutely incredible line-up SOME nights. Truely felt like I was a kid locked in Willy Wonkas Factory.

Yes, definitely two of my favorite hangouts and always sure to please. Last few visits, I was only one of maybe 3 punters in the go-go. I'm just wondering if you heard if MNL changed their name or reopened yet.

Last I heard it was closed, but that was over a month ago-- I've had no recent intel.

OK. Thanks for th info. The gameplan is 4 nights in AC, booked at Orchid Inn through Beeline travel and then 2 nights in Makati. I'm attempting to book at Oxford Suites but so far no luck with Beeline lining that up. Should be fun way to spend Thanksgiving.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, Oxford Suites is the finest hotel location in the world...(that I've seen)

By Merlin on Monday, June 20, 2005 - 12:15 pm:  Edit

Lou, Gregorio is right, for the price and location, Oxford suites can't be beat. I found it's best to book directly with Oxford suites as they often have 50% off specials.

The real amenities of the place lie to your left, to your right, and straight ahead as you walk out the door of the hotel...
