I have been to Rio several times over the years, but had never been to Sao Paulo. Luckily, I had the chance to visit Sao Paulo last year for a couple of days on business, and having read many posts about the variety of activities available, I couldn’t wait to get there.

Most tourists visit Rio and never get out of the beach areas except to go downtown to visit one of the termas. Nothing wrong with that, you can hang out in the beach area all day, and hit the termas and clubs all night. 2 or 3 weeks can go by in no time at all.

Sao Paulo is a huge, sprawling city of around between 10 and 17 million people depending on whether you count the surrounding metro areas. Sao Paulo is the heart of the Brazilian business world with a huge manufacturing base and much of the investment and high tech business headquarters in Brazil. There are a lot of rich and very rich Brazilians in Sao Paulo, along with the very poor of course.

Sao Paulo is an inland city, around 250 miles or 400 KM from Rio, about an hour’s drive by car from the ocean. Airfare from Rio is in the $100 range if you fly from the domestic airports. You can sometimes save money by flying from the international airports but your taxi/bus costs will be more and they take longer to get to. I’ve got the Rio and Sao Paulo temperatures on my homepage, and it seems that Sao Paulo is consistently 5 to 10 degrees cooler than Rio, with the bigger differences at night. When I was there, the days were quite warm when the sun was out, but it was a little chilly at night, especially when it rained.

The local papers have many escort ads, but they are almost all speak only Portuguese. If you aren’t comfortable speaking Portuguese, you will probably want to stick to the larger, public establishments. One good source of information is Magazine Turismo & Hotelaria, http://www.revistamagazine.com.br/, which is available at most hotels. This has a nice selection of ads for hotels, flats, tourist attractions, restaurants, and what we are all interested in, escorts and clubs.

To keep my report in perspective, I’ll start with my garota rating system

10 – Perfect. I have probably seen less than a handful of 10’s in my life. If you can say another woman is better looking in any way, than your rating is inaccurate
9 – Drop-dead gorgeous, great body, super pretty face. Usually the difference between an 8 and 9 is strictly personal preference. In my trips to Brazil, I have only seen a handful of 9’s in person, but many on Brazilian television and in the newspaper hot babe photo sections. You would dump a dozen 8’s for a single 9 without a second thought.
8 – Very, very pretty, great body, fantastic smile. If you are at a terma and you see an 8 going to the private rooms with someone else before you have a chance to grab her, you won’t think twice about waiting an hour until she returns instead of settling for a 7. You would dump a couple of dozen 7’s for an 8.
7 – Pretty face, good to great body, nice smile. This is the typical good looking girl you will see at a terma or club. Most nights, you will be very happy to get a high 7 to take back to your room, unless there is an 8 or 9 available.
6 – Decent to nice face, maybe just an okay body. This is the normal, run of the mill woman you see at a club that doesn’t especially appeal to you. Normally you won’t settle for a 6 unless it is last call, there aren’t any other places to check out, and you have money to burn.
5 - Okay face, okay to good body. Not unattractive, just not attractive. If there are only 5’s or less, I am in and out of that club in 10 seconds. I would have to be very drunk to end up with a 5 at the end of the night.
4 or less - Starts to get scary.

When I visited, the conversion rate was about 2.6 to 2.7 R$ per US $.

Café Photo - A lot has been posted about this club and everything was pretty accurate. It is about a $R20+ cab ride from the midtown area. Entry fee was R$160 and includes 4 drink tickets, and there isn’t any charge for taking out a girl since they are all independents. This is a very big, upscale club, 2 floors of bars, tables, dancing areas for the average guys, a special VIP section on the 3rd floor. It wasn’t very crowded the night I visited and the security guard was pleasant, so I was able to go up to the VIP area and look around. Nothing special, and the girls seemed to rotate between all the floors so you aren’t missing anything if you don’t go up to the VIP room. I was there on a Wednesday but got there after midnight. There were about 100+ ladies, mostly mid 7’s, maybe 10-20% 6’s, and a handful that were 8’s or near 8's. The women were dressed mostly in very nice cocktail dresses and looked very classy. While I was checking out all the girls, there was a large exodus of couples that had made connections so by about 1 or 1:30AM , things had emptied out quite a bit. Most of the guys are Brazilian business guys who have to be at work the next morning so that explains the early clearout. Asking around, I heard that weekends were pretty slow, many of the Brazilian guys are married and have to spend time with their wives and families. I was waiting around hoping that one of the 8’s would become available and luckily enough, a very pretty 8+ loira cutie couldn’t make a deal with the guys she was drinking with. I ended up making a deal for R$300 for 4 hours, more than I would have liked, but it seems that Sao Paulo is more expensive than Rio. This was a very expensive evening, R$160 for entrance, R$300 for my date, R$40 for cabs, over R$500. I might try this again next visit, but it will be a lot cheaper to call an internet listed outcall service where I have seen the girls before I call. Since I joined this group, I would also try one of the massage places, especially the ones with websites with pictures of the girls. I would rate the girls at Bar Barella in Rio about the same as the girls at Café Photo. Say what you will about Centaurus in Rio, my experience there is that they had the best collection of girls I had seen and you can pay your inflated entry fee and have a couple of hour sessions for less Café Photo. Someone posted a link to Fracebel in Sao Paulo, http://www.francebel.com.br, and the girls look even better. I’m going to try them next trip for sure.

Bahamas – I had high expectations from the reviews I had read about this club. Again, it was a R$20-25 cab ride from the midtown area. Entrance fee was R$90 and the girls usually want R$200 for an hour session, rooms for another R$50 (??? Or 100, sorry, I don’t remember) . I didn’t have a chance to go to a cambio that afternoon, so I had mostly dollars. I didn’t want to use my credit card, but the front desk person said that they would exchange at R$2.00 per dollar, what a big ripoff. This unfriendly exchange rate put me in an unhappy mood before I even entered this club. Inside, there is a long bar, a decent amount of seating, a pool table, and a small dance area. Downstairs are lockers, bathrooms, showers and private rooms. There were 50 or 60 girls that night, and about the same number of guys. What a disappointment unless you like girls with lots of big ugly tattoos and/or overweight girls with hard looking faces. The quality of street girls on Av Atlantica in Rio is a definite step up from these girls, plus you don’t have to spend a lot for a taxi and entrance fee. There were only a couple of girls who made it up to a low 7, most were 6’s, and there was a high percentage, about a fifth that were 5’s or less. Needless to say, I left without any action after about an hour. I won’t be back to this club unless a Sao Paulo expert tells me they got rid of all the old girls and imported the best girls from Café Photo.

Kilt – Rua Augusta area - There is a huge number of strip clubs in the Rua Augusta area. Kilt and about 10 other clubs are on Rua Nestor Pestana in a 1 block area, which is a short block from Rua Augusta. There are at something like 40 or 50 strip clubs and/or bars on Rua Augusta for dozen blocks around the Kilt area.

Kilt – I lost my notes, but I think about R$20 entrance with a drink included. I read that the Kilt had gone downhill from before, but it was the most crowded club in the area, and had the best looking women of the clubs in the area. They have a decent J shaped bar that was very crowded, a large seating area, and a couple of stages where strippers dance. There is a smaller upstairs lounge that was pretty empty when I was there. There were about 50 or 60 women, 10-15 7’s, and most of the others were 6’s. There were a lot of male customers that night, maybe 100 plus or so. While I was there, they had a live sex show with a pretty mulatta and her mulatta boyfriend (he didn’t wear a condom) who put on a nice 10-15 minute show. The best looking girls were as good looking as the best looking girls at Bahamas, and it didn’t cost R$90 just go get in. I had an outcall escort lined up with a solid 8 later that evening, so I wasn’t interested in any of the women there, but the girls seemed pretty friendly and you could probably negotiate a pretty good short time rate.

Vagao Palace – Cocktail – Others – Some of the smaller clubs have covers as little as R$5 but some only have 10-15 girls. It’s a very short walk between clubs and cheap enough that you could easily visit all of them for a short time without putting a major dent in your wallet. I tried 4 or 5 of the bigger clubs but didn’t find any gems, but you never know. It only takes 1 8 or 9 to make your excursion a success.

Love Story – Love Story is an after hours club that caters to the girls in the bars and nightclubs. It is about 3 blocks from Kilt. Entry fee is R$10-R$30 for guys depending on the day, and maybe the time. It’s in an older, warehouse like space, very dark, very loud, very smoky. The night I went, there seemed to be about as many guys as women. The general quality of women wasn’t very high, mostly 5’s, 6’s, and only a handful of 7’s. I didn’t find anybody I liked, but I did see a nice high 7- low 8 morena I had seen at Café Photo the previous night just as I was leaving. She was already hooked up with some other guy or I would have taken her back to my hotel.

Internet outcall – More expensive than Rio, I’m guessing R$100+ or maybe 50% more expensive than a 2 hour session in Rio. YMMV. There are many sites that have been posted. What’s great is that many show faces so you have a better idea what you are getting. It helps to speak at least basic Portuguese although you can find some that speak English. What’s great about Brazil is the liberal attitudes about sex. For a small tip, you can usually ask one of the English speaking front desk people to make arrangements for you. One funny experience I had. I asked the front desk person if there was any extra charge for having a girl come up to my room for the night. He misunderstood and offered to make some calls and get a girl for me.

Massage places – Didn’t try any last trip, but will definitely try a couple reviewed by others next time.

If you have to spend a couple of days in a city in Brazil, there aren’t many better than Sao Paulo for variety of TSM activity. Unfortunately, it is pretty expensive, and there aren’t lot of tourist type activities during the day. I have a fair amount of money to spend on vacation, but nothing like you can spend at the highest end clubs in Sao Paulo. Unless you hook up with a namorada, or have enough money to spend all day with an escort or at a massage place and can come 7 or 8 times a day, you’ll be going broke and probably be looking to get back to Rio or Fortaleza after a couple of days. But for a couple of days, everybody should visit Sao Paulo and see what it has to offer.

Onewolf, after you get more SP trips under your belt. You might in the long run, prefer it to any other place in Brasil? I do! If I had to choose only one place to hobby? It would be SP! Though the city is huge, there are millions more of garotas to see and chase. Over any other place in Brasil.

And speaking some Portuguese can be a real plus! Do what ever you need to do, learn some Port:-)

Onewolf, good report and thanks for the link to francebel. I hadn't seen that site before. The very first picture to download, Aline, is my idea of an 8. Deise, two rows down is another. Either one would make me smile with contentment as far as physical beauty goes. Forget the 10s and 9s. I'll leave them for the studs and perfectionists.

In the 'esteticas' or 'clinicas', how does it work? Is there a lineup where you get to choose the girl, is it free-form, like a terma, or do you need to schedule an appointment?

It all depends, but generally there is either a line-up or a "book". Either way, you usually don't get to interact much with the girls, it' sjust pick 'em and go. So it can be pretty hit-or-miss, but then again, the clinicas are relatively cheap (of course, FrancBel is one of the most expensive in Sampa, R$300 by the time you're done, but it's all top-quality, you get what you pay for).

Do places like FrancBel have traditional beds. I saw their website and wasn't sure if they had actual beds in it. What are the sessions like? Same as a terma? Do the girls in the book accurately reflect the face/body of the girl? Thanks in advance.

Amen to the vote for SP as monger heaven...I have been to many regions of the globe and I think there is more high quality Pussy available in SP than any where else...including BA and Rio...athough they are not far behind.

I realize it's not a lot of money but don't forget to print a copy of the free entrance pass to Kilt I posted in my 2002 report. Worth a drink or two anyway.

For the clinicas, it is NOT like a terma. Only place in SP similar to termas would be Bomboa where sampling/DFK is expected.
Most clinicas have a book with fairly recent photos but the girls are all made up so expect drop off.
Some clinicas have line up, Alternativ and AdvanceVip come to mind. BTW a lineup goes so fast, book can sometimes be better choice to pick a garota.
Higher end clinicas like FranceBel, CelCenter expect to spend R$300 for 45 min massage and FS, majority is cbj.
Clinica Antares and Alternativ are much cheaper R$100 and bbbj is the norm. Personally I cannot tell the difference in looks between FranceBel and Antares, but yes the girl is better dressed for R$200 more.
Another decent clinica to check is Miruna 644 with same low price.

For escorts, SP is definitely the place. Girls do not mind showing their faces as competition is fierce. Pretty decent choice as usually R$150 to R$200 for an hour and half. Unfortunately you gotta do homework as 1/2 the girls give cbj but many lookers to choose from.

I think SP and Rio are fairly similar in pricing. Lodging is cheaper in SP.
As far as garota's, there city slickers and going to throw out the high numbers to see if you bite. I think Athos stated "$R150 is the average in SP" He was right!

A garota told me the full time minimum wage worker makes $R250 a month. So with that it mind I told her I pay her two weeks of the wages in SP tonight. She laughed, but took it.
Love story was actually OK, it cost me $R50 for entrance, neverless it's in a seedy part of town so just be alert. Some locals street guys and myself were exchanging words out front, not thinking because of my Cuba libre's, the security pulled me in and said these guys could be packing the "pistola's"

I think there is only four clubs around the Kilt's area and big ben one block over on Augusta.
Bomboa's didn't impress me at all. $R80 entrance, $R50 Room, $R150 one hour complete.

Check SP again and gather the facts from Sf4dfish, Athos and moondog. Your trip should be more enjoyable.

I agree guys..SP has some beauties and will continue to do a day in/out each visit but one question,,,

Is there an "office" or is it just too big and spread out to find a few buds between sessions...know what I mean Rio just has an air about it ..call it electric or ???

Unless you have a prior meeting place and time set up, SP is just too big. There is really nothing like Meia Petacia in Rio, or the cafes Orleans or Exedra in BA, to meet up with guys. It is just too big and too spread out.

I will say again though, the women are absolutely beautiful and worth the extra effort in finding them.

In a later trip to Sao Paulo this year, I checked out another link, http://www.mclass.com.br/. I called several numbers but just got answering machines until I called a gorgeous morena named Victoria (unfortunately she isn't still on the website). She didn't speak any English, but my Portuguese is good enough to get by. I was stunned when she only asked for R$200 for 2 hours. When I met Brazil Specialist, he said someone told him the models were R$500 or more and couldn't believe the girl I met was only R$200. I couldn't give her my hotel address fast enough. IMHO, she was one of the 3 best looking girls on the site. In person, she was just as pretty as her pictures, and a real GFE. She said she was almost ready to graduate from the university so she may have moved out of the city or "retired". I have her phone number so I'll call her next time I get to Sao Paulo. On the other hand, I'm going to have to try a few of the other ones that are listed.

Ceenotes: The $100 was for a roundtrip. Is your R$163 one way? That would make the prices comparable.

Don't know how Ceenotes didn't like it, maybe went on a bad day, but so far my favorite place in the WORLD is Bomboa in Sao Paolo. Here is what I posted in topic "The World's Best Bordelleos" in the World Traveler Tips section:

I wasn't too impressed with Francebel or CelCenter. The rooms were small, one of them you had to do the girl on a mat on the floor, and the girls lose at least a point or two from their professionally done photos, and you can't see them besides viewing the photos.
