After escaping with my life from The Freak at 4x4 I walked back to the hotel and grabbed a sandwich at this place down the street. My plan was pretty simple - meet up with Luma from 4x4 session #1 (if she showed) at TA that night, maybe go into Help for a while, and then hit VIPS or one of the love hotels with her, which I hadn't had a chance to try out yet. Well, those plans died quickly because my telephone message light was blinking when I got to my room. The voicemail was from my stalker and I understood about every 3rd word but she wanted to meet me for a drink if I had some time - wanted to say goodbye or something along those lines. I was a little intrigued due to her activities at the hotel while I was out the previous evening so I figure why not and called her back.
She cruised over about 20 minutes later and I did a minor interrogation on her as to what were her intentions when she came by the hotel to spy on me. She was very embarrassed by the whole thing, although she kept trying to convince me that she had just came by to see if I wanted to go to a club and had not interrogated every employee in the place. Pretty much bullshit but what do I care? We talked for a bit and basically we ended up back in my room fucking all night. Gratis, no fee was mentioned and she didn't ask for anything the next morning. In fact she wanted to come back a little later for lunch and I was really tempted to press my luck and ask her to drive me to the airport (I had visions of a goodbye fuck somewhere inside the airport) but I decided I would rather go have a nice lunch with the guys, get prepped for the flight and get in a little bit of R&R before leaving for the airport.
I wonder if Luma made it TA that night to meet up with me? Oh well, plenty of other customers for her there!
I got a late checkout from the Marriott and headed to the airport around 4:15 for my departure. There was no traffic whatsoever, strange for a Tuesday afternoon I suppose, and we made it to the airport in just about a half hour. The airport was fairly deserted and I had lots of time to kill. Last note on the airport - the Varig Club kicks ass! They have a whole room with brand new PCs with free broadband access. I actually got a shitpile of work done while there - checking on work e-mail, reading sports scores and stock market info, downloaded a little porn as well. Not a bad place to waste an hour until a flight begins to board.
My overall impression of Rio is that the place kicks ass in all ways possible. It blows every other place I've been to away and that includes Thailand, Germany, Holland and every good-sized Mexican border town that white men tread in. Other than the shit flinger I had no problems with hustler or scammers, the beaches are awesome, the weather was incredible, the food is good and the options for female companionship are almost mind-boggling. It was great to meet some of the guys down there and I anticipate many future returns to Rio.
What will I do differently next time? Well, there were a few things on my to-do list that I did not get to. I really do want to spend a day doing tourist things next time, like taking the tram to Sugar Loaf. I want to hit some of the bargain downtown termas. I don't really care to do a festa but I will make it a point to do a nice evening rental down at VIPS just to experience the place. I may spend more time in Ipanema than Copa, at least during the day. The beach is nicer and the neighborhood is nicer. If I don't stay in the same hotel again I may just do an apartment rental in Ipanema or stay in one of the hotels over there.
I would like to screw Paula, the girt girl from the Marriott who runs the outside area during the evening shift.
I will start to force-feed myself on day one and keep the water and juice flowing to keep the bugs away. I'll also try and plan a nap every afternoon. I think it was SweetMesquite who mentioned that he'll take naps in the lounges at the termas sometimes. Maybe that's a possibility, although finding time for sleep while in a brothel may be difficult! However, if it helps to fend off a cold or the flu then I'll give it a try.
My overall body count for this trip is fairly low - 5 terma girls on 4 runs to 3 different termas (Luomo, 4x4 and Monte Carlo) plus 3 overnighters with the stalker. I did not do a beach girl, or any girls from Help, or had any pickups on the sidewalk in any of the places like TA and MP. I didn't call any of the escort services. I had a great time but barely scratched the surface on this first trip down.
I did come in very under budget. Not to crow or anything but I used miles for my plane ticket and points for my hotel stay. The hotel didn't even charge tax so all I had was a R$100 charge for a couple of meals and some local phone calls. All told, for hotel charges, airline taxes, Brazilian departure fee in the airline taxes, food, drink, entertainment and women, I spent around $800 US for the entire trip.
My point here is you don't need to blow a lot of money on a trip down. I lucked out just by the fact that my career keeps me on the road so much that when I do a vacation, I get a lot of big-ticket items like plane rides for free. I also got some free sexo on this trip, which is a rarity for me on a mongering run. I like to stay focused and typically only seek one or the other, free sex or paid sex, on most vacations and business trips I take. Also, getting a freebie from a working girl, albeit a semi-pro part timer, after only a couple of days of knowing her, is a feat I'll likely not accomplish again any time soon.
I would say that budgeting US$225-250 per day for hotel, food, transportation and women should suffice, plus whatever your plane ticket runs you. Rio is inexpensive so you don't need to blow thousands of dollars down there to have an exceptional time, but you shouldn't nickel and dime it either. It's not Tijuana where you can park for $7.00 and walk over with $75 in your pocket and have a couple of beers and a lay and head back home.
My next trip is in a couple of months, another one-week run, and I hope to expand my horizons on Rio to beyond the Copacabana scene. Or not!

OK, I finally read your report.
Glad to see ya met up with Sweetmesquite. Now there's a cool dude. Had a blast with him my one and only trip to Rio.
Kinda funny that you mention Tijuana. Even after Rio and Cuba I still love the place.

Catocony:
Thanks for a very nice report. The freak story was really funny
As for the Marriott, I am still not clear from what you and others are reporting what their girl policy is. Assuming that the girl looks like a garota de programa, but not the extreme case of totally disgusting appearance, the questions are:
A1. They will always allow the girl.
A2. They may or may not allow the girl.
and
B1. The girl must register at the desk.
B2. The girl may or may not register at the desk.
B3. The girl does not register at the desk.
and
C1. There is a joiner fee.
C2. There is no joiner fee.
Sorry about being so specific, but if someone wants to go there for the carnaval for example, uncertainty about the girl policy is a show stopper since the package is nonrefundable.
Thank you.

Sabio: Are you a programmer?
From what Cat told me while I was there, I think it is totally random and up to their discretion of who happens to be working. If the girl is dressed fairly normal, they won't give you a problem. If you walk in there with a Meia Petaca girl, you are probably going to get stopped. I think he said something about a side entrance though where you wouldn't encounter as many eyes.
Overall, I would say it is random. They don't want to make their flight crews feel uncomfortable.

Sabio,
I only took the one girl in. The first night, we came in around 2:30 A.M. or so. The girl did not look much like a programa chick, she had on slacks and black jacket. We came in through the main entrance and one of the guys asked me if she was registered, I shot a look at him and said we were both registered and that was the end of that. She didn't sign in and I was not charged. I was using points anyway and the voucher was for a maximum of two people so they couldn't have done anything anyways.
The second time was around 6:00 P.M. and the third time was around 10:00 P.M. No problems. Of course, by the third night everyone working that shift at the hotel knew who she was due to both seeing her with me and from her running around the night before asking about me.
The Marriott has a couple of bars and restaurants that are of course open to the public, so I would say that if the girl looks presentable, i.e. you could walk through a mall or something with her and nobody would think she's a hooker, then you shouldn't have too many problems with the Marriott. I think they do make them sign in but they didn't with me.
Here isa trick to try, by the way. Let her carry the room keycard. If someone questions her, tell her to keep her mouth shut, hold up the keycard and make a face along the lines of "I'm paying to stay here and you think I'm a whore for coming in after midnight?" This works even better if she can say in English "EXCUSE ME?", just to make the guy worry just enough that he just pissed off a civilian guest that he'll back off and drop the issue.
Aldaron, as far as the "Bat Cave" side entrance, it's disabled after midnight or so, although you can always exit by it. It's just off to the right of the main entrance maybe only 30 feet or so, which is just enough to organize a jailbreak if needed. It's there so that guests walking over to the beach don't have to walk through the lobby in flipflops, shorts and bikinis and everything. If the girl does a pre-morning departure you could slip her out of there to avoid the full walk of shame through the lobby.

The side entrance? Never knew the Marriott had one. Is it on the left where the bathrooms are or on the right as soon as you come out of the elevators?
By Catocony on Sunday, August 17, 2003 - 11:37 am: Edit |
Thumper, when you come out of the elevators, go left and then a right. It's marked "beach access" or something like that.
During the day, that would be the place to bring a beach girl in with you.

Sabio, the Marriott allows you to invite "one" female guest at a time. With no extra charge. Though when I do invite a garota to "cum" up, I alway's ask her if she has her documento on hand; if the front desk want's her to sign in? She is prepared to do so, as is the norm in Rio/SP. And in fact I usually prefer that they do register:-)

If you're going to bring in a garota through the side entrance, you may have to deal with the towel guy who works right next to the door. He is instructed to stop everyone coming in and make sure they are bona fide guests. I saw him giving some shot to some riff-raff that was trying to use the entrance, and he questioned me the first time I used it with my girlfriend (who was a registered guest). Not sure what would have happened if I walked in with a beach chick.

Thank you guys. What I am hearing here is that it is a hit or miss, with the exception of Sf4dfish's information: the Marriott allows you to invite "one" female guest at a time. With no extra charge.
By the way, I think the best possible combination is A1/B1/C2 (always allowed, must register, no fee). Registration gives some level of protection (against underage and criminals). The fee per girl (rather than a uniform higher room rate) has two disadvantages: (i) It sometimes shows up in the bill (even if paid in cash), and this can hurt future presidential campaigns , (ii) Some girls start showing attitude after you paid the fee thinking that you now have something to lose if you kick them out.
About the beach entrance, why don't hotels just use this as a guest-girl entrance as well (particularly at night when there is no beach)? Seems this would reduce the bad image problem for non-hobbyist guests, and also the walk-of-shame problem for hobbyists.

Cool, will have to try the beach door next time. I think they shut it down at night because they want to have all guests who are spending the evening, documented with the front desk.

Re:"I think the best possible combination is A1/B1/C2 "
I would add "keeps girls ID at frontdesk" and "calls when girl is leaving".
